  2. Yay I killed whoretown
  3. For future reference, please make sure you put a date in the title, as per the rules thread here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=125570 Good luck with your cruise
  4. Umm just realised that it's not actually YOUR thread so you can't edit it lol I'll do the change in a sec
  5. My best guess is that it was closed because there was no date in the title... I'll re-open it for you on the proviso that you edit it to include the date (do a full edit on your post and you can change the title).Just have a check here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=125570 Make sure you've stuck to it, and in the meantime I'll PM the mod who closed it and let them know If there's another reason it was closed I'm sure they'll let you know.
  6. No idea sorry, wasn't me.
  7. Hi whores
  8. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is to give the car a full service, replace all the fluids, check the bushes etc. You'll be amazed at the difference it can make. Other than that, I agree with most of what's been said, though personally I'd prioritise things a little differently. 1. DECENT TYRES!! 2. Suspension (don't go ridiculously hard, it'll ride and handle crap and you'll probably be slower) and decent brake pads with a fluid flush 3. Full exhaust 4. Wastegate bleed (increase boost), to 11 or 12 psi... insert disclaimer here 5. Pod filter with partition and cold-air feed, or decent airbox and quality panel filter (in my experience the factory R33 airbox is crap, see below) 6. Front-mount intercooler I'd also recommend a good aftermarket computer - by far the most popular is the PowerFC from Apexi, but there are some very good options such as Haltech that will do almost all of what the PFC does, plus a heap of other stuff. It may not give you a heap of power by itself, but will allow you to get the best out of the mods that you do now and in the future, and a decent tune will make the car smoother, quicker and probably more efficient too. Not massively cheap depending on how you go, but most definitely worth it, particularly given that the factory computer has atrocious fuelling once boost rises above factory. Don't be tempted to get an aftermarket blow-off valve unless you particularly want it for wank factor, the factory one should do the job nicely - with a basic zero-cost mod, mine held 23 psi without a problem. If you do change it because the factory one is faulty or something, I'd strongly recommend you replace it with another recirculating one (rather than venting), it'll keep the computer happy if you stick with an AFM and it's one less thing to be defected for. Beyond that, you start getting into the expensive bits There was a noticeable difference in power in my old 33 between a pod and the stock airbox with a "high flow" panel filter, I reset the ECU before and after then swapped back to the pod and reset the ECU again just to be sure. So for me, a pod definitely made power over the stock airbox (which surprised the hell out of me to be honest) and was a heap cheaper than a decent airbox at the time too. So my advice would be to try it and see if it works for you Edit: zomg Dave, we think so alike
  9. How short-sighted people become when there's a buck to be made. Here's hoping Lakeside doesn't go the same way as Darlington Park
  10. This might help in future too... I can't find the one I did for the boot/under-bonnet panels but there would be some floating around. None of these fuses appear to be the ones you're after, two more fuse/relay boxes to go
  11. lol @ having someone with the surname 'Wang' in the company... 'I'm looking for Wang' 'Dayum... Wang is GOOOD!!!' 'Wang drives me crazy!' or 'Wang drives me nuts!' 'This report has Wang all over it!' 'Don't rub Wang up the wrong way or he'll spit on you' etc Oh the hilarity.
  12. heh it's all good
  13. It *was* posted months ago when it happened, 19 Feb is the date of my first post.
  14. When I first bought my 33 there were hardly any around (a lot of people didn't even know what it was - "hey cool, a new Monaro!!!") so I'd wave when I saw a Skyline and, quite often, I'd end up pulling over and having a chat. By the time I sold my car (around 18 months ago) they were everywhere... if you were to wave at each one you'd never have my hands on the wheel. Seriously, especially when a car is as popular/common as Skylines have become (and don't take that as a negative - they are popular for a reason), don't take it personally if someone doesn't wave back. If you get one, great... if not, forget about it.
  15. Calling the cops is hardly being a vigilante, and I don't see a problem "informing" on someone who is an obvious danger to himself, his passengers and everyone else on/near the road. We're not talking about someone who was doing a few kays over the limit or who did a bit of a skid coming out of a servo or something. Besides, this kind of behaviour doesn't exactly help our image in the eyes of the police - you have people like this fool to thank for the hassles we already have. Anyway the original incident was a couple of months ago and things may have changed. He may have a license now for example, or may have even sold the car to someone else. Personally, if I spot the car I'll leave him alone, but will keep it in the back of my mind that he "may" be a dickhead. Interesting to hear someone else has had a run-in with him though.
  16. Just jumping in before it gets out of hand black33gtst - please don't be deterred because you have met some resistance, there is clearly some interest in your offer. If people are interested in the product they'll verify its quality and, as you say, "make up their own mind" on whether or not to use it anyway. Bobjones has just as much right to have a negative opinion of a product as you do to have a positive one, and he's done the right thing by the community by sharing an experience with a product others may be considering, and has abided by the rules in keeping negative details to PM. * back on topic *
  17. Q: What goes blonde, brunette, blonde, brunette etc? A: A blonde doing cartwheels
  18. Should be fixed now In case you were wondering, it's actually the same problem as these guys were having: here and here
  19. Karen and I can't do it as we have plans, if someone wants to organise a dinner then go for it
  20. Lots of money and, from what I hear, a nightmare to get engineered (for both legality AND longevity). They'd also add a fair bit of weight, which means a slower and more thirsty car. If you're dead keen, ask around at places that do autosalon-type cars, there have been a few scissor'ed cars over the years.

  22. If you haven't already, double-check the mechanical side - make sure hoses are tight etc. There's no point trying to tune out a problem that isn't related to tuning Assuming you've already done that, you could try this. It's been a while so I can't remember what it's called, but there's a screen on the PFC named something like "map browser" - it shows a 20x20 matrix with a dot on it, indicating which part of the maps you're currently using. Take your car for a spin and have someone watch that screen, and have them note where the marker is when the car starts to miss. Clean up the fuel/ign maps around the area indicated by the marker. It gives you somewhere to start anyway.
