  1. Haltech do make a plugin ECU for the R33, the one I've seen in the E11v2. In my understanding, the Haltech does retard timing when it detects pinging, which is great. That was pretty much the only thing that I wanted in the PFC that it didn't have.
  2. I'm not as familiar with the Haltech but I'll answer where I can.Dual mapping: PFC - no. Haltech - I think so Timing/spark, fuel maps: Both are full replacement ECUs so have full control over your fuel and ignition maps Airflow meter: Haltech allows you to get rid of it by replacing with a MAP sensor. PFC forces you to keep an AFM of some sort, though it allows you to choose between maps for some of the more common swaps (Z32, Q45 etc). You can go the D-Jetro version which lets you go AFM-less but to be honest, unless you're running stupid amounts of horsepower or ridiculously big cams - keep the AFM. They're better at measuring the air and you'll end up with a cleaner, more fuel efficient, nicer ride at the expense of a tiny bit of throttle response at the top end.
  3. I haven't heard that word in years
  4. Oh BTW there is a difference between the series 1 and series 2 which means that unless you want to modify your ignition system (S1 had an ignitor box, S2 integrated them into the coils) apparently you need a different ECU. I'm not sure exactly what the difference with the S1/S2 computers is but they're different part numbers in the PFC. Either way it's definitely worth keeping in mind.
  5. PFC will do pretty much everything you'll want. It plugs into the factory loom, has a good base map (in that it'll get the car running immediately, the maps won't be anywhere near correct), and there are plenty of people who can tune them now. Haltech is getting some big fans, they will cost you more but will do everything the PFC will plus proper knock control (as opposed to just detecting it and flashing a warning, but not actually doing anything, like the PFC) and is more expandable. I used to run a PFC and was more than happy with it, I didn't make insane amounts of power or anything but it had different injectors, AFM, turbo, cooler etc and the PFC ran the lot very well, and it still did 500+km per tank of fuel. They're getting hard to find now though
  6. Apart from a short stint in Beenleigh, I have hardly seen ANY mumble pants since moving out of Ipsditch. Considering the quality of people wearing them in those areas, it's not a sight I'll be missing any time soon.
