  1. Probably already been posted but I'm too lazy to check: http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/dri...1733764512.html
  2. It's only that small shred of common sense I have stopping me from blowing a stack of cash and putting a 1J/2J in it... it's been done Never going to happen of course, but it would be good for a laugh
  3. Hey don't knock the Fridge of Fury... it's tough. If you rev it over 3k it makes itself a very - James Bond-esque smoke screen. This is actually very clever, because if you're revving it over 3k, you're unleashing Insane Horsepower™ and are undoubtedly trying to get away from people jealous of your sweet ride. Nah it's a 7M-GE (non-turbo), stock as a rock except for the "TRD Intake", which is a bit of red tape used to hold together a bit of the piping that had fallen apart, with TRD written on it in Nikko Slowly fixing it up though, it has stupidly cold aircon now, new brakes, 2 new tyres, tappet cover gasket etc. Just need to service the auto and throw a set of rings in it and it'll be quite nice to drive Still boring as anything though lol
  4. Better go do some work... for a bit anyway giggidy giggidy gone

  12. Judging by the number of people in this thread it's hit a bit of a nerve. Can we leave the whoring to here please?
  13. Hi guys My parents rang me just before, to see if I knew of the owner of a white Skyline (R32 or R33, they weren't sure), rego 978-ISY. It has some sort of pale-coloured graphics up the side (dragons??). The guy driving is unlicensed, had a woman (presumably his wife/gf) and at least one small child in the car, and according to the officer who took the report, the police are "extremely interested" in catching up with him. According to them he has been causing havoc - and judging by the blow-by-blow account I was getting over the phone when my olds first rang, I don't doubt it. He is around the Ipswich area at the moment but is apparently from the Gold Coast, so could be anywhere in between. If you see this car, do not go near it. Keep a safe distance, contact the police immediately and help them track it down. After the run-down I was getting over the phone (which I won't repeat here as the matter is already being dealt with by the police) this guy could do anything, so I cannot stress enough to keep your distance and do not stir him up. Sooner or later he's going to piss off the wrong person, and I dread to think what will happen to his passengers. He was driving like an absolute fool, nearly causing several crashes. My mum was absolutely hysterical on the phone. If anyone knows this person or has any details that might be helpful, either forward them onto the police, or PM me (do NOT post them here) and I will forward them and maintain your anonimity. Cheers Marc

  16. Sorry mate but if you're going to advertise on SAU, you'll need to contact PranK or Blitz to become a business trader. Let me know if you need any pointers
  17. I have no experience with SAFC's but ping and knock refer to the same thing. Put it on a dyno and have the tuner check it out if you're concerned

  20. Grats on getting your license Anna!! *shy* OK now for the boring bit... *puts on cardigan* Shitfights = no I've cleaned the thread out, banter is OK but it was getting a bit nasty/personal. I really don't have time to sort this kind of thing out today, so if I'm forced to clean up this thread again I won't be real impressed.
  21. I could not agree more. Unfortunately there are too many people who just accept what they're told without thought, too many people who are happy to see action without consideration for its effectiveness or relevance, and too many unrealistic people who expect a zero road toll despite common sense disagreeing. Any death is tragic of course, but it's inevitable that they will happen. The irony is that the sooner people forget the politically correct crap and accept reality as being just that, the sooner things will actually change. Ride like everyone is out to kill you and you'll be a safer rider. When you're coming up on someone, think to yourself "what is the most dangerous thing that person can do?", and be prepared for it. After a while it becomes automatic. If you don't currently have an escape route, plan one. If you can't find one, move to another piece of road.
  22. As Benno said, please post a price or your thread will be closed/deleted.
  23. This thread has run its course. As has been stated numerous times, with a large amount of customers you will inevitably get some bad feedback, directly or otherwise. I'm not going to pass judgement on whether Mercury are good or bad, but as with anything else, it seems that if there are 100 good stories and 1 bad one, it's the bad one that gets all the attention. That's not to say that there is no merit in it, but the difficult part is working out how much value YOU put on each opinion, and deciding whether or not to entrust your pride and joy to that business. The best thing you can do is go to a workshop, have a look around, see the kinds of cars in the driveway and how the mechanics are treating them (are they parked carefully? do they use guard protectors and seat covers?) Check the condition of the shop (is it tidy? are the tools cheap crap or decent? etc) and decide for yourself whether you are confident with leaving what is generally your second-largest financial outlay there for the day. If not - walk away. If you are - great, make a booking.
  24. Indeed it should Merged.
