  1. We already have an SR32, so second option it is!
  2. I get around 30,000 out of a chain and sprocket set on a CBR929RR. I'm not a particularly fast rider, I mostly just cruise around on it but it does get taken to track days and given the odd squirt here and there. I lube the chain religiously with chain wax, on a warm chain at every tank of fuel, and keep it adjusted - probably overkill (and flyoff is a bitch) but the chain lasts for ages
  3. Was responding to Darren's post
  4. Now all we need is someone with a V35 to buy a set and we'll have Work Emotions on every model of Skyline from R32 up
  5. E-toll still costs, you just pay with a pre-paid account rather than in cash per visit. A bit like using a pre-paid phone instead of a payphone for your calls.
  6. Nandos ftw
  7. Sorry for going off-topic too, but in response to this: I've been asked to pop the bonnet on my way to work one day, I politely asked if I was legally required to do so, he answered "no" so I said "if there's nothing else then I'd like to be on my way, I'm already running late" and he let me go. I don't know if the guy could have forced me to pop the bonnet or not, or if there is some circumstance they can use (suspicion?). It might have just been because I wasn't a prick to the guy, or maybe he was just a nice guy who could have held me up but didn't, I have no idea. Either way the outcome was good - the bonnet stayed shut and I was held up for a total of probably 60 seconds. FWIW the car is completely legal and has passed similar inspections before. Of course if they say that yes, you ARE legally required to pop your bonnet, and you later obtain legal advice to the contrary, the conversation with the officer giving false information is recorded. Any defects you get as a result of you being ordered to open the bonnet should be thrown out, as they never would have been awarded had the bonnet stayed shut. On the other hand, if your legal advice agrees with the officer, then they did the right thing and you were legitimately booked, suck it up and deal with it lol I've noticed that in many cases police use strongly worded requests, but they are just that - requests. If you comply with them you've done so of your own free will. Just ask them politely if you HAVE to do what they ask, and act accordingly. Short answer: I don't know for sure, but ask the officer if you are legally required to do what they are asking. And be polite!
  8. *drools* That sounds farken awesome - nice detailing in the engine bay too Can't wait to see it in action
  9. Weak
  10. Heh yeah, emergency reboot of one of our servers in Melbourne... but yeah, those camber arms will no doubt do the job, a bit hard to gauge quality from a photo though. I used offset bushes for my adjustment, they don't provide the same range but it was more than enough for me.
  11. In for 2 Don't they realise who we are?!
  12. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo *takes breath* Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Surely they couldn't do that!!!
  13. Depends on how far you lower it, I can't remember figures for the stock setup but I needed to put a kit in my old 33 to get its alignment right. The stock setup doesn't give you much scope for adjustment.
  14. Well it looks like she was cruel to a horse, and it kicked her in the head. Then she caught on fire, and someone put her out with a chain.
  15. Check your sent messages folder
  16. Nope... just found the pic a while ago and thought "omfg that is hideous - better make it my new av"

    Price Rise

LPG needs a high compression ratio to realise its full potential. Dual fuel vehicles don't really show off gas because you have to tune it for the lowest denominator. LPG is a much cleaner alternative to petrol and currently it's cheaper, but it seems the govt has already started to dig its claws in there too :\ Bastards. But yeah, rebuild an engine to run on pure LPG and it'll be cleaner and will potentially make more power too. I heard someone had made LPG injectors too, dunno whether it's true or not but effectively having to go back to a carby system (mixers) was always one of the shortfalls of an LPG system.
  18. OK some people need to take a pill lol. Please keep it on-topic guys. Although you are right to an extent, many people are still pulled over and hassled for no other reason than the car they drive. Unfortunately there are enough tards driving performance cars for the Police to bunch us in with them, regardless of how sensible we may be. Ever been pulled over for a "random" breath test, and noticed the cops checking out your whole car then asking for a casual look under the bonnet? I can assure you that many have, including myself (they found nothing but wasted 30 mins of my time), even if you've never had a problem yourself. FYI I rarely drink and have a (nearly) clean driving history. Also, I think what Mushroom meant is that if you don't drive a performance car, you may not understand the inaccuracy of the "if you behave you're safe" statement. I don't know whether you do or you don't but that's how I interpreted Troy's post, you obviously have interpreted it differently. I also notice in another thread you mention you've had your license for 6 months - while this doesn't mean anything in itself, I suspect a bit of time on the road in a performance car will be an eye opener. This thread is purely here to keep us informed about those keeping an eye on us, and personally I don't see why it might be a problem.
  19. *pictures Dave on a CBR125**uncontrollable rofl'ing* I can't buy anything for at least another 5 months lol
  20. Hi Dave *fast wave*
  21. Mike's av is Fry from Futurama... ? You might get Steph on a bike. All you have to do is convince her to jump on, once you're moving she won't be game to try getting off
  22. I used to work in a hospital. I wish I was paid for every time I heard that saying... but I'm still here aren't I? lol She gets on the back, of course I'll let you know how impractical a bike is next time I pass you in a traffic jam If you've never ridden a bike you won't understand the appeal - it's not just about how fast they are or how far you can lean over... it's just a totally different experience. I enjoy my cars just as much as my bikes. Oh, and you can find a park just about anywhere. Because I do. It's not mine, but Karen lets me drive it from time to time
  23. Heh yeah I know, I'm avoiding taking one for a test ride because I know I'll be offering body parts to buy one. It's amazing how far bike development goes in a few short years... high 9's out of the box, handling that would have put it at the front of Superbike grids not so long ago, and brakes that don't fade after repeatedly slowing from speeds on the silly side of 200km/h - all things that make a huge difference at a trackday. The last Gixxer Thou I rode had 191rwhp according to the owner, and fark me it felt like it. It'd lift the wheel off the throttle in third at silly speeds, and the speedo climbed so fast... it was terrifying but I couldn't stop cracking the throttle Then I got back on my stock Fireblade and, don't get me wrong, it's still damn quick, but it just felt very ordinary after the heavily modded Gixxer.
