  1. Hmm not far from work... if they do lunch there I might be able to convince one or two of the very few people working here this week to come along
  2. Indeed. Oh and morning all
  3. I think a lot of the confusion comes in because people don't understand what putting on a GTR (or Type R, or whatever) badge MEANS. It doesn't mean your car is capable of running x seconds down the quarter or doing a x:xx lap of QR, it doesn't mean it's as fast as or faster than a GTR. It means "this car is a GTR". If it didn't come out of the factory with a GTR build plate, then I'm sorry but it's not a GTR, and you're telling everyone your car is something it's not. Just because the performance may be equivalent is irrelevant - it's NOT a GTR unless that's how it left the factory, regardless of what mods you've done or how much GTR stuff you've bolted on. Regardless, if someone wants to put a GTR badge on their car, who are we to tell them them they can't? It's their car, their money, and whatever they want to do with it is their business. I will still laugh though
  4. If they run it from Buranda they're able to disrupt a LOT more people... oh YEAH!!

    Theft Tip

I used to do that when I had the leave the car with panel shops or the like, except I gave em 1800 rpm because of the clutch (button = need a few revs to get the car moving). Enough for them to move it in and out of the booth but they couldn't do skids or anything. There was 3km on the car when I got it back, I assume from them going up and down the street trying to get it to do burnouts... they had fun trying to explain that
  6. Haha that one didn't even need an edit
  7. I had exactly this choice when I was looking at buying cars in 2000. Basically it came down to - do I want a sports car with some luxury (Skyline) or a luxury car with some go (Soarer). I can't answer which would suit you best, but for me, the Skyline was the clear winner.
  8. chortle
  9. I can see this thread is going down in a flaming wreck, so it's closed. foamer, thanks for sharing your experience, and glad things worked out for you
  10. I've been there on more than one occasion when the cops have decided to lock down the ENTIRE carpark and inspect every single car on the way out. The police regularly patrol it (good) and sometimes go absolutely stupid with defects. One guy showed me a defect on a bone stock rental car for a half-full washer bottle. I've heard of empty washer bottles being defected (pedantic but understandable) but half full?? If that's not a hot spot I don't know what is. That said it has calmed down a lot recently, but it's still worth being informed.
  11. Sorted. FYI 'ninja' and 'shadow' were both taken
  12. Finishing my Xmas shopping. If it wasn't for the last minute, I'd never get anything done
  13. foamer that was pretty uncalled for, and makes absolutely no sense. Rather than a response about how you've paid heaps of insurance over the years and finally gotten something back, or some other coherent argument - you come up with that. Come on...
  14. Xmas day?? lol
  15. Yeah saw the sign on the way past the other day... they've been there for as long as I can remember. It'll be weird not seeing a whole stack of imports on the corner... a bit like it was weird when they went from selling Yank tanks and almost nothing but V8s (mate) to being virtually 100% turbo imports lol
  16. Already got plans for tonight sorry! If you're going to the BWCP, just keep in mind that it's a hot spot at the best of times, and it is the Xmas weekend. Have fun guys
  17. Temple. check. rising sun. check. oriental studies logo. check. hey... wait a second.... (From here - page probably not work-safe lol)
  18. Geez you're quick John, it was only just done! But anyways, wasssaaaaap whores
  19. ... and closed.
  20. Apologies if that particular weekend doesn't suit you Warren/Isaac Unfortunately this change was completely out of our control - as Col has already mentioned, Richard is moving premises (better location, better workshop, and he will own it!) so Allstar won't actually be available for the event on the originally planned date. Hopefully we'll see you both at the next one!! As for everyone else, hopefully the extra month's notice will give you time to organise things around the event, or sort out your cars, if you wish to attend. Remember that if you use Allstar for your mechanical or tuning work, the move will probably affect their ability to do that too! A very big thumbs up to Richard @ Allstar for accommodating us so soon after his move
  21. Hell yes, can't wait to try it, I've heard good things Spotted Dave being 'impressed and thankful' later in the day
  22. Now there's two lines of text that wouldn't normally belong in the same post Good luck mate, keep us posted!
  23. ... and on that note, home time bishes Buh-bai
  24. You sure you want it back, after they've done who-knows-what to it?
  25. Indeed.
