  1. All alone...
  2. Bah, and you call yourself whores
  3. Yeah what Gordo said. HICAS makes it a bit difficult to hold a precise line mid-corner (because the computer decides it wants to change the angle of the back wheels ) and can make it feel a bit nervous. That said, to the day I sold it my Skyline still had the HICAS connected and working, once I got used to it I just let the rear end wander a little, and made small steering adjustments to keep my line accurate. It does feel a bit wierd but you can drive around it. Also consider though, the effect a lock bar may have on your insurance/wallet. This is second hand info so I'd be checking it yourself if you're concerned, but I'm told lock bars are illegal because they are a modification to the steering systems. You could be defected for it, and if you crash you may not be covered. I never followed this up myself because I had no need to, but it might be worth checking
  4. Howdy ho, whorebags. Impossible. Hell yes. Witness the fitness. Then choke on the smoke There are speed bumps?
  5. FYI - cover charge is $10/person, or if you're eating there (get your minds out of the gutter ) it's $5/person. And yes, Karen is female and she's coming along, so you guys can tell your partners that there'll be at least one person there to keep an eye on you
  6. That's kinda what I was getting at
  7. If it helps, I made a touch over 300rwkw on 550cc injectors and stock fuel pressure, I don't remember exactly what the duty cycle on the injectors was but I think it was around 80-85%. It was deliberately tuned a little rich in the top end (we erred on the side of caution) but still had a bit of room to move.
  8. Pfft Cyrus you'll go ga-ga over anything with black wheels But yeah VERY nice car mate, clean example and nice choice of vehicle. R33>R32 *stir*
  9. Don't get me started on Mt Cotton...
  10. Typical!!! *runs* But anyway, yeah I'm in.
  11. People do this kind of thing already, in other states in Australia that don't have open speed limits. It's going to happen regardless of whether the speed limit (or lack thereof) says that they're allowed to or not, and making it illegal won't make it any less dangerous.
  12. Despite the Cressida being fully sick, and my deperately wanting to show that tough Commo wagon how single-legger skids through an intersection are done, I managed to keep the traction loss to a minimum last night. Nah the chairs we were sitting on were theirs, and we didn't even know it lol They closed up shop but couldn't finish the job because their chairs were in use, and instead of just talking to us, they waiting until everyone stood up and they rushed out, pushed the stuff on the tables onto the ground and ran back inside with the tables and chairs. We were getting some evil looks, and I can't remember what was said but Dave made a comment just as one of them poked their head outside, they made a face and scurried back inside again
  13. Nah I meant the ones next door to Cold Rock
  14. That place ftw Laughing at cranky Chinese restaurant owners also ftw Nice choice of venue Dave
  15. Hi Peta Yeah I'm el presidente, at least until the AGM. Scary isn't it Tuesday night dinner does still happen, as someone else has mentioned, but for a couple of reasons, this week it's Wednesday lol. We move around a lot now though, both to get a bit of variety, and to allow people who don't want to travel half way to the Gold Coast for food to join in As for what else is happening... umm yep, that about sums it up How are you doing? Haven't spoken to you in ages!
  16. This statement in his ad should ring some alarm bells: "It is reccomended vehicles to be setup properly on a dyno by a quallified technician under no circumstances is Horsepower Inovations responsible or liable for the use of any of our items or any damage that may be caused by them, and are at the sole risk of the user" Pretty standard, but even the guy selling the "chipped" ECUs recommends dyno tuning to get the best out of them If you already have an ECU that can be tuned, a full dyno tune in my experience runs at around $400, give or take, plus parts like spark plugs if yours are fouled etc. RB20 ECUs can be remapped so if you can find someone reputable in your area who can tune it, you're set.
  17. The stock ECU might have a fuel/ignition cut when boost goes above 12psi. You can always disconnect and block your wastegate line to rule out boost controller issues, but as you're no doubt aware this CAN destroy your turbo and/or engine if you don't keep an eye on the boost guage.
  18. I'm not sure if I'm reading this right, but... If you mean that you're going to get someone to send you an off-the-shelf chip by giving them a list of mods, don't! There is NO WAY for them to know how your particular motor needs to be tuned. You might have a 3" exhaust, but there can be big flow differences between similar-sized exhausts. Your fuel pressure or injectors might mean that the amount of fuel getting into cylinders for a given injector opening time will vary. They have no way of telling how mods will interact with eachother, even if they have data on each one individually. I would consider these chips to be a "base tune" - something you use to get you to the dyno, then work with and refine to match your vehicle. Unfortunately they're not usually tunable, ie you can't change them, so you're stuck with this "base tune" - basically, more than likely you will be stuck with a car that doesn't run its best. Be very wary.Get a programnmable ECU (PowerFC is by far the most popular plugin, but there's no reason you can run Haltech, Motec etc, or remap your factory R32 ECU) and have it tuned PROPERLY on a dyno by someone who knows what they are doing.
  19. It'll be the same problem as other states though - with a lowering of the speed limit, the cops see it as an opportunity to litter the countryside with speed cameras and mobile lasers to catch the people who would have been completely safe and legal the day before. There was a stretch of road out near where I used to live that went from 100 all the way through, to 100-80-100... a 500m-long 80 zone slapped in the middle for no apparent reason. The cops used to sit on that stretch practically every single day and rake in the cash. Given their response to dropping limits 20km/h, I can only imagine how money-hungry they'll become when the limit goes from infinity to 110, assuming this does in fact get voted in... you watch, all of a sudden they'll start beating the "speed kills" drum, and every crash reported on the news will mention speed as a "contributing factor". More than a little bit hypocritical for a state/territory that simultaneously has the highest speed limit, and a road toll near (or at) the lowest in the country.
  20. This would have to be one of the largest I've seen fitted to a car, particularly one without a lot of cubes to push it: And, for intricate pipework: Nice
  21. I've seen some farkin atrocious bus drivers. At least a couple of times a week I see them nearly run into someone, though given that I live not far from a depot I probably see a disproportionate amount of buses, and given the driving displayed by nearly everyone else in this area (Toowong) they are probably just trying to fit in That said, the vast majority of the time they're not too bad. The only thing they're guilty of most of the time is using the "give way to buses when pulling away from the kerb" rule as an excuse to barge into traffic without checking if someone is already half way past them, and cutting people off. Anyway, in the example given above, there is no way in hell I would give that guy his job back. Surely even the unions can see that he should not be behind the wheel of a bus?
  22. Mounting them on the side of the sub box isn't an option? I had two amps, one on each side of the sub box. The one running the sub only got really hot if I was cranking for half an hour non-stop. With the wires on both amps covered by a flap of carpet (neither of which are finished in the pic, the carpet is lying on the floor beside the box) until a couple of inches before each amp, and the end plates on the Rockford, it was fairly neat too.
  23. Nice guide col Wish I had this when I did my swap lol Anyway, as people have mentioned, there is a setting in the PFC to specify the AFM you're running, I can't remember where it is (Under Setting, then... argh somewhere in there lol) but once you find it, it's quite obvious. I swapped my AFM over at home then drove it to have the tune checked on the dyno. The PFC was very very close to the mark with the different AFM chosen, but did still require a bit of tidying up to get it 100% It didn't surprise me given the stock AFM had a bit of gunk on the wire I was never able to remove, but I was surprised at how close it was
  24. I mean, yes, of course...
