Hey y'all. Lately my car, an r32 skyline has started behaving weird. When driving along at say 30kmph in 2nd gear, and the accelerator is applied ever so slightly, that car seems to bog down, the turbo starts spooling yet the car isn't picking up speed, probably even slowing a tad. It feels as though the brakes are being applied and the accelerator floored. ATM I'm thinking maybe faulty afm? Any thoughts...?

thanks duncan. well i think ill leave it for now if its only going to effect my reverse lights. from what ive felt the wire's snapped off right on the plug. incase i do decided to get it fixed in assuming the plugs going into the gearbox screw or pop out? otherwise connecting wires back up to the plugs even with the gearbox hanging down may be a bit tricky. -
hello was driving home today when i heard a snap/bang etc turns out the front driveshaft ripped out the wiring from the gearbox and to fix it is basically a gearbox out job (cant get to where its been ripped) after a bit of web browsing i have come to understand that these wires are there to tell when the car is in reverse and neutral. can anyone confirm this? if so i can only think it would cause for there to be no reverse lights. would there be anything else? thanks

ok thanks. just as long as i didnt get any replies saying: youve farrrrked your trasfer case. transfer case has been flushed and refilled with atf, redline fluid has been wasted , fill up nut on gearbox has been cracked, new redline oil has been ordered... thanks heaps -
the other day i filled up my gearbox with redline gearbox oil via the gearstick hole. thinking it would be fine - WRONG! as i am now aware this fills up the transfer case... i drove the car around the block after i did this and oil started seeping up out of the gearbox hole jumped on the net and now discovered #1: i am a dick, #2 i have 5 liters odd of gearbox oil in the transfer case doing god knows what to it. will flushing out the transfer case a few times with atf fluid be alright? also does it take 2L of atf? thanks

doesnt cat a cat. rest of exhaust is fine. definitely doesnt boost, or even try to boost. take it for a drive and it just climbs through the revs fine until you change gear. only problem is it doesnt spool 1 bit, its as though someone is opening the wastegate as soon as it makes boost, but am 99% sure this is not the case (see posts above) going to check the fueling of it today. thanks heaps for input - any input is really appreciated at this stage

Exhaust wheel is fine so is the intake wheel. PFC is tuned to suit but could probs do with a lilttle tune up. Have completely disconnected boost tap and given it a go for a test. Still norhing. And have reved car umder load up to 7k

Wastegate is definitely closed have done a fee little tests to confirm this. So the turbo isn't spooling? But turns easy by hand and has no shaft play?

Check intercooler piping. All sweet. Turbos def not seized as we took the inlet pipe off straight after we turned the car of and turbo blades were spinning fine. At a complete loss

The stock bov should be Plummer back but if it isn't it only really effects idle etc it's not going to completely stop it boosting. And to address this issue I blocked it off. There's no funny sounds. I've checked te ic pipes but will go over them again as i may have missed something

bought a project car (r32 gtr). finally got it up and going and its not hitting boost - at all has hi mount t66 and external gate, boost tap, and power fc, stock bov (currently vented to atmosphere ) now i blocked up the bov's to see if they were leaking - still no boost fiddled with the boost tap up and down - still no boost rev the car, take it for a drive - wont make any boost whatsoever - not even 1psi anyone have any ideas why it could be doing this. only thing i can think of is faulty wastegate but when i had it off the car the spring in it had plenty of tension (gate was hard as f**k to push down) please help

no i meant i need to find 1 for sale so i have an ignitor for both cars. and thanks for the tip^^^ ill make sure its earth as good as possible.

swapped the r32 gtst ignitor over... FIXED!!! now to find an ignitor for sale

ok sweet. ill put the gtst ignitor in the 26 and see if thats the problem. if it isnt.. DOES ANYONE HAVE A GTR OR GTR ECU THEY WOULD EVER SO KINDLY LEND ME/POP AROUND ONE AFTERNOON - surfers paradise. ill give you a $50 deposit or whatever if i have to pick it up

ok. i actually have a r32gtst as well soooo... saw that the gtr and gtst ignitors are the same - can anyone confirm?

r33 rb26 in a r32 gtr (dont know if that makes a diff) exactly right swapped coil packs no change... didnt worry about doing it with injectors yet as i couldnt get a spark thrown from the bad cylinders sparkplug when i earthed them out onto the body of the engine - therefor i thought its definitely not getting spark on cylinders 2, 3 and 5 ecu will make things alot eaiser/faster than going through the wiring if i didnt have to. assuming it is the ecu - what on earth causes this on a pfc? assuming it isnt - next step obviously detailed check of wiring?

no not blocked injectors as i took the spark plug and coilpack out, earthed the sparkplug out to the engine and there was no spark (on cylinders 2, 3 and 5). did the same for 1, 4, and 6 and they all threw a nice healthy spark. so at this stage theres no spark getting to the coilpacks 2, 3 and 5 - but when ignition is turned on they all (all 6 of them) have power going to them - and just to confirm - all coilpacks are working 100% as ive swapped them around. does anyone have/know of a r32 gtr ecu i could borrow for literally 5mins (including taking in and out of car). i live on the goldcoast qld...

done this.. coilpacks are fine perhaps a burnt track on PFC - what is this? have considered putting in stock ecu and seeing if that fixes the problem... if so its obviously a pfc problem... if not... ??

hello im in the process of getting my gtr on the road and am just about there. but it is only running on cylinders 1, 4 and 6 coilpacks are fine, plugs are fine. theres power getting to the coilpacks but no spark? so im thinking its not wiring because theres power getting to them? what else could it be. the car has a power fc in it, however it has been taken out of the car for months.... do these computers go into a safe mode or something which will only let it run on 3 cylinders? finally i have checked if i get spark with coilpacks and sparkplug out of car being earthed (to make sure its definitely no spark and not 'no fuel') please help

does anyone know if any other types fit in there. i keep reading posts about people asking for r32 gtr and navara ones. are these the same? I asked my local nissan dealer and they said they would have to get one from japan for $165

hey guys finally got around to putting the box in my gtr... all straight forward except for 1 thing... whats the go with the speedo cable with where it plugs/screws in? - ive put some pics up... im assuming im missing a part or something? thanks
