remember if you want reliability getting a tune when you go winding up your boost tap is probs the best thing you can do for your engine.
-
read though most of this thread. been convinced gtr's about ready for a tune. 1 question - could anyone tell me roughly what power a bosch 044 could pump on e85. its looking like ill need a twin set up (want 500whp)
-
ok sweet ill leave it in there then
-
was taking off a blow by pipe to trim up an end because it had slit. and found this inside? anyone tell me what this is in there for.
-
shit. sorry guys just found the hose it goes to... hmm well this is embarrassing
-
simple question, simple answer (hopefully) cant find anything on the net... where does this line go to??? (see pic) pulled the old broken one off (taking no notice of said connection) and now have no idea where to hook it up to - no hoses or anything floating around that area that I can see. wtf?
-
wow. thanks so much! with these lines, do they still matter considering the car has a t66 (no water cooling) hi mount with external wastegate. (wastegate actuator already has vacume line connected up correctly) and if they dont do i just get rid of them and block them up. or with the coolent ones would i have to re rout them back in somewhere. thanks again!
-
well yer it started exactly where the carbni canister line starts and ended down under the car on the right hand side of the engine (where the line is meant to go) so im 99% sure it was the last bit of remaining line for the carbin canister. thanks heaps for pointing me in the right direction mate!

sorry if this is a obvious question. i have searched but with no success. bought a gtr with a blown up flywheel. need to put a new gearbox in it. after looking at the gearbox and noticing those 2 lines coming out of it (see 1st pic) ive gotten under the car and cant see any lines that might connect to these. In saying that a few lines have been shredded from the flywheel. I have a pic of some lines i think might connect to it but not sure at all really. please help
-
yes thats exactly what it was. looked it up and no doubt about it. thanks a bunch! thread/end

r32 gtr btw

hey guys. my gtr has had is flywheel blow up in it. (bought it like this) so i am left with a bunch or random hoses and fittings that i have no idea what they are or where they should go. first question is - what the hell is this hose/pipe for! - see pics...
-
thanks for the replies! yes. to fix it would be expensive as and a big job. +1 for keeping an eye on it. il slide under the car and check it out each few drives. thanks a bunch guys

i managed to get the mooshed up studs out with a bit of tapping. stocked! theres now 2 out of the 9 that cant be in there because that part of the sump/block as cracked off completely. who thinks 7 out of 9 studs holding on the gearbox is sweet? surely that would be safe.
-
well the slave sits in front so im guessing its a push. just to be 100% heres a pic thanks heaps

hey guys i have a rb26 gearbox thats getting bolted up to a r33 rb26. problem is im not 100% the gearbox is a push or pull type? how do i check this - cant find anything on the net and i need to buy a clutch for it. (bought car without clutch) when i push the fork towards the rear of the car the thrust bearing (or whatever is on the gearbox shaft) goes forward thanks
-
also does any one know what size/type of thread bolts i have to get. atm i dont have any bolts/dowels to bolt the gearbox up to the engine. how do i go about getting the correct bolts for this
-
yer ive sussed out the rest of the damage... not to bad. ok well ill start getting quotes for how much it will be to retap. cheers mate
-
hey guys i recently picked up a cheap r32gtr that had the flywheel explode and punch out through the bell housing of the gearbox etc now i have got another gearbox for it (came with the car) the problem lies with about 4 dowels/bolts coming off the engine are either all mashed up, cracked off completely or just stuffed. to fix this 100% id have to drill out the holes etc, but not having a hoist or any real experience doing this i was wondering: would it be alright if i were to put the gearbox on, only using the remaining holes that arn't totally fooked. yes it is dodgy i know, but im wondering if i do this will the gearbox twist off the engine first drive. or will it be pretty much right. cheers
