  1. haven't read every single post but amazed by the naivete about what modern media is and the lack of objectivity on both sides of issue modern media is like fast food outlets, the public want a quick serve and if its got some footage or piccies that excite shock or revile (within ceratin standards) that is what the masses crave - there is no time nor probably any inclination in todays' news media for detailed factual analysis - this is the domain of Insight, 4 Corners and the like, not the nightly news you will never change that - but if you want to beat your heads against the wall thats your call and who the f**k does not think any car crash in a suburban street at 150 kph for example that leaves several dead and others requiring maybe 1-2 years or more and probably multiple millions of dollars in hospital and rehab costs (at you the taxpayers expense - and which could have funded a track instead ? ) is not going to get lots of coverage not all strictly factual or even well researched, and probably done by persons who travel mostly by taxi and airplane and more interested in cafe latte than ultra 98? and don't you think that peeps with families and kids etc are't really concerned they or their own kids will get wiped out by some bozo doing 150 in a 60 zone - YOU BET THEY ARE - and that is a perfectly normal reaction - and they will in every case support sanctions look at a almost parallel universe - the bikies create mayhem , bashings killings etc - mass media coverage - bikies convinced they are above law and society so still carry on bashings killings - now new laws - now bikies now got VERY BIG PROBLEM as state has free mandate from public to fix em up time for a reality pill - don't whinge do something - time for SAU to draft and publish a anti-hoon policy and disseminate it in media and get pro-active and a public profile demonstrating responsibility is our motto - has SAU got the balls to stop being the /victim/ here and take on our adversaries? Answers welcome. No gratuitous personal slanders please - just reply with the facts as you see it.
  2. ______________________________________ nah .... were all distantly related (like about 5 million years ago) so its all cool he's a great bloke , sometimes funny too!
  3. +1 and a close look and the touch/flexibility factor will disclose what is what
  4. I do all maintenance on the vehicles I have. My experience suggests your problem is : your whole supposition is WRONG - everyone's needs and resources are different so in reality there is probably no such thing as a universal mobile tools/equipment storage cabinet . The professionals such as mobile mechanics have vans that already fit that criteria. Home tinkerers don't need to do work on their cars every day or every week - sometimes only a few times a year and won't need to take masses of tools and tyres anywhere with them when they go out and can store such stuff in the garage or shed so why get a mobile storage cabinet that is likely to be expensive and unnecessary? In fact most jobs require very few tools - oil changes, even spark plug and coil testing /changing needs just a few very basic tools. And how big would a storage cabinet need to be to include all suspension and tyre changing and body work tools and ancillary equipment like ramps etc - as I said if you need all that stuff you probably already got a mobile mechanics van and are a mobile mechanic - lol- or else its in the garage somewhere and you get out what you need when you need it - no specialised costly storage cabinet needed. Rethink your concept.
  5. ________________________________________________________________________________ _____________ Hey Tharaka dude, you are on the Vic Exec Ctee according to your sig so you must no its SAU policy not to permit gratuitous personal attacks - but hey maybe the rules don't apply to you - are you exempt ? Can you please explain? And then you went on and validate my input in your last line comments.....isn't that being a bit of hypocrite on your part- to criticise me for my input then validate it? lol- geez I had a good laugh though. As the (former) great Jeff Fenech would say , ".......luv youse all.........." lol
  6. My prev comments reflect Japan's Finance Ministry recent statement that the Japanese economy is in very very dire straits and is not predicted to bottom out and begin to recover before 2013 at earliest - while demand anomalies re high end items like R34 gtr may be keeping prices high now its more a case of where will they be in 6, 12 months or 2 years. And as side issue - notice how Kev used the "depression" word overseas but never domestically?
  7. I would normally not bother commenting but will say this to ensure no-one gets misled - there is considerable misinformation in above posts about what the Xanavi can do and what it takes (loom, aerials etc tec) to instal one in a non-factory std Xanavi R34 (let alone a R32 or R33) and get it to function - maybe seller etc is well intentioned and erroneously believes what is stated is correct - but any potential buyer better do his research thoroughly or you probably end up with some expensive useless items- nuff said "just need the right wires to power it up and a dvd player" - actually, on the scale of easy projects it might be easier to try brain surgery on yourself with a power drill - lol -
  8. ___________________________________________________ with the Japanese economy in freefall and huge unemployment numbers increasing steadily, its almost guaranteed that in the foreseeable future the price of R34 GTRs there should fall dramatically (just like luxo car prices have already tumbled here) as more owners get to the position where they have to sell and market is flooded - and don't be put off by local Aussie owners citing any differential in the yen and dollar as the price falls in Japan may make that largely irrelevant in any case - focus on importing your own from Japan in say 6-12 mths time at what may be a bargain basement price don't buy local without checking out other options fully or you may be paying way too much for no good reason
  9. in previous posts you were asked to post current pic showing the "minor " damage, and you said you would - lol give up the real pics lol
  10. -------------------------------------------------------------- I read your post and decided to close down your shit with some facts - lol Timewasters and tools not appreciated here, esp if they may have some agenda to play that is dishonest and/or fraudulent. My last words 'grow up' and keep your hand off it more often - lol
  11. ____________________________________________ yeah Al lets hear some more - good for a laugh if nothing else - lol
  12. a big unnecessary beat - the original poster on SAU who could have at least tried to get the facts right - so lets put the story right............ NO GOVERNMENT IS PROPOSING THIS SCHEME - the idea comes from the Motor Traders Association (well known for sprouting idiotic ideas tarted up to sound good but really only intended to make their membership richer e.g. THEY SAY IT WILL SAVE JOBS IN THIS ECONOMIC RECESSION IF OLD CARS ARE FORCED OFF THE ROAD AND YOU HAVE TO BUY A NEW ONE - brainless as the persons driving older cars mostly do so because they cannot afford new ones for the less sophisticated or intellectually challenged on this site, and the original poster may care to take note also - the MTA is the peak industry body representing car dealers- its not the Government - its biased towards new car dealers who pay fees to maintain the MTA - it will always try putting out some shonky idea into the public arena as this is what it is paid to do by the car dealers who are its membership however, all dealers are not happy as many know its a bullshit beat-up that will go nowhere - and already the second hand car dealers and parts suppliers (who would lose out in such a scheme) have ridiculed the idea - the sales/prices of used cars would fall even lower so used car dealers are not buying this scheme at all NO GOVERNMENT IS GOING TO ADOPT THIS SCHEME - none ! so you can all go back to sleep now and the same MTA idiots will raise the same scheme again maybe in 2011 as they do this every few years or so - you have nothing to worry about and no-one will get any windfall money for their old bombs - so just go back to sleep and if you want to post at least get the basic facts right - lol
  13. . .. .......can we link this thread with the one about simpletons ?..... ...... ..
  14. ________________________________________________________________________________ _____________- so as to prove what ?????????????? lol as if anyone will care - better to spend the money on yourself - lol
  15. ________________________________________________________________ as the subsequent replies also point out : the proper thing to do is get some basic facts clear before you post a question - yours was so broad there could be dozens of answers : why waste peoples time? when you get the fault code post again (only if you need to ) - you can get it with about 1-2 min of effort - lol (and no tools needed) - how has been described many times "search" is your best friend - lol
  16. ___________________________________________________________________ must rate closely as one of the most illogical posts so far for 2009 - your proposed repairs appear total guesswork - and why would you need to replace the spark plugs and the 02 sensor - the plugs are virtually new according to you and you have been advised the 02 sensor is Ok by your "tuner" - lol if you don't trust your tuner why not get a new tuner and have a new expert opinion before starting out on a raft of repairs - maybe thats too logical? and " most importantly" the injectors need cleaning at 70k ? I doubt it...........but hey if it makes you feel good .......... in fact, why would'nt you just fix the vac leak you are positive exists and then see if the problems are still there = but maybe thats too logical also - lol fixing vac leaks and misfires is not rocket science = anybody with some elementary mech skills and just some basic tools should be able to master it - so why not do some research, get some hands on experience, and dump your tuner and have a go yourself, and save yourself the $800 and other costs, including the unnecesary ones mentioned above?
  17. tried the site search option yet? no spoon feeding today until you have used search
  18. I also don't understand why if its all legit (and it may be fully legit) why doesn't the seller just take the offer they have now discovered is in play sell at that price and and just pay commission so everyone is happy? ________________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________ come on guys , why don't you answer the above question? - the comments offered so far have been evasive and unconvincing and there is no correlation between following up a warranty issue after paying for goods/service and actually not paying for goods/service now to reprise briefly, to list the property the vendor will have had a contract for sale prepared - it belongs to the vendor who gives a copy to the agent if its all so sweet as claimed that buyer and vendor have agreed to price (but agent is only obstacle to sale occurring) then they still can complete the sale without necessarily involving the agent - how ?: vendor has or gets a copy of the sales contract from his/her solicitor (in case they gave the original to the agent), buyer and vendor agree on price etc and each signs sales contract (usually you would do this in your solicitors presence - they can arrange this surely ) deposit is paid by buyer to vendor, and sales process is started, and subsequently the vendor informs the agent of what has occurred and why - e.g. vendor informa agent that his (alleged) malpractice necessitated by-passing him, or gives agent whatever excuse/reason is appropriate and the issue of commission can be left to be resolved afterwards on its merits not happy with that approach - then even easier - the vendor could have their solicitor inform the agent in writing on Monday that the vendor has accepted the buyers offer and direct the agent to process the sale within say 3 working days or else the agent's failure to do so will be treated as abandonment of sales agreement (contract) - definitely no commission payable if agent fails to act on such a direction. so why whinge - you have options, if what you claim is valid get to it - lol
  19. 3- well if a property sells while there is an agency appointed as acting agent, then the agent is entitled to commission - this is to prevent the situation where there is an agent's signboard on a house and a passer by knocks on the door and offers the owner 10k less than what they want as they will be saving on agent's fees... the problem lies in the fact that if you buy the house privately and the other agent finds out, regardless of whether they have breached acts or regulations, they can claim commission as they 'introduced' the property to you while they had it exclusively listed with their company - all they have to do is show a record of your inspection on the saturday (which they no doubt have) and they get their cash... NB: it doesn't matter if you buy it privately 12 months down the track after the exclusive agreement between vendor and agent is ended, if you buy it privately, they can claim commission... 4- here's the good bit... if you want to get around this as cheaply and sneakily as possible this is what i would do... make a private agreement with the owner (if you can) on a purchase price... once the exclusive authority period is over with the current agent, you get the vendor to list the property with another agency but she tells them this... "i want to list my property with your agency, however i have a buyer who i have made a private deal with and i want you act as the 'handler' of the transaction. for this i will pay you $1000 commission (which is alot cheaper than she'd be paying the first agent) and all you have to do is write up the contracts and i and the purchaser signs off on them"... this way the first agent can't claim commission as the second agent had exclusive authority over the property when it was sold ie. they have no leg to stand on... _________________ 3 is about right 4 you really think so? - read on Fact - agent introduced you to the property Fact - std sales agreement will have provision that agent will be entitled to commission if introduced person to property, there is no deadline on this. Fact - you/the agent/the vendor can each allege anything - courts tribunals and agencies work on facts not assertions or hearsay. Conclusion :Your dreaming if you believe there is any way of now buying "privately" and seller avoiding commission to the relevant agent - the seller would have to be stupid to not be aware they (not you) are certain to be sued for commission if they sell to you by any method - (but we can presume they will use a solicitor who will advise them properly ). And now I have a question: is it not the case that trying to screw an agent over a commission is no less dodgy than the alleged wrong conduct of the agent that is being complained about - - lol I also don't understand why if its all legit (and it may be fully legit) why doesn't the seller just take the offer they have now discovered is in play sell at that price and and just pay commission so everyone is happy? Can we have an Epilogue pls?
  20. I think the 370Z is terrific granted it shorter and stubbier than the 350Z and the pics probably don't do it justice (Audi TTand R35 GTR and others also looked uglier in pics than in real) - but Nismo 370Z version is just too uuugggggggggglllllyyyyyyyyyyy - disgraceful body kit (must have been styled by a braille person) as an every day driver the 370Z would likely be far more practical than a R34 GTR and lots of fun no doubt - pose value? who knows, I would prefer the newer v6 engine car -it s moddddddddddddddeerrrrrrrnnnn - its the future not the past !!!!!!!! and it wil have better tech type kit
  21. its no surprise as there are so many variations in HUs - I got the R34 with Xanavi HU (cd/tv/sat nav) and separate radio cassette combo and found some differences in the speaker wire colours but you can fairly well rely on the connector pin-outs being what is stated even if the colours of some wires vary ... as for spare pins being used obviously points to accessories - you will probably have to do some tracing/testing in any case as with any instal you should proceed carefully - it should be easy to work out
  22. seems like very tough times ahead everwhere, even the Indian steel mogul who bought a whole steelworks in Bulgaria for a massive price just 2 years ago has now just abandoned and walked away from the place - the former eastern bloc counties are as stuffed as the US and Europe etc Our own politicians are between a rock and a hard place because if they tell the full truth about how bad things are getting and are likely to be in the future there will be panic and probably some people jumping off buildings, so they have to maintain a positive outlook - they have to convince you to spend as its the only way known to try to keep the economy active - is your self-protection and interest more importnat to you than the collective interest ? thats a question you will have to decide in any case if you dont spend now, they will - with infrastructure projects financed thru future debt - so in the long run you will spend even if its only in the form of government debt repayment (taxes) will the stimulus work ? will jobless numbers rise to 20% or more ? is there a quick solution? who knows, maybe there is'nt one and the global financial system has to work itself out over maybe a few or more very painful years but it is a worry when the pundits here and overseas are now saying that the future trend will be larger numbers of self-employed (i.e. translate that to mean people who have found ways to survive outside any job and social welfare system, who may no longer even be registered for benefits or pay taxes thru to persons who have started their own business enterprise whatever that may entail and are doing OK) in the USA (for those that have been there) you will recall the 100s 1000s who only come out at night roaming the freeways and more run-down inner-city areas who sleep in cardboard boxes on the pavements in clusters covering whole neighbouhoods such as those near the transport hubs of Los Angeles, and whose main income is from picking up trash, cans, etc /crime/you name it - maybe this is what will happen here if the social economic and financial system does not recover in next 5 years for the moment the motto among the more affluent seems to be cash is king - time to liquidate those unnecessary assets (GTR s and holiday homes -see how many expensive cars and luxo mega buck holiday homes are for sale right now) and covert to cash - hunker down, and await whatever happens next and if you got a job pray you keep it
  23. he said it dropped a 100 i.e. to about 400 from 500 but the thread is full of guesswork alright! as I said in my earlier post I have had both std coils and Splitfires (each for about same time, 1 1/2 yrs) and have tracked fuel consumption closely for past 3 years + and there is no discernible difference - steady 9.5-9.7 l/100 km average whichever type in motor - both ran very well, good start-up and very clean burning (no soot at all on tailpipe) - but some of the oem coilpacks did breakdown necessitating the change-over and Splitfires were definitely the best buy on cost basis anyone getting very bad mileage definitely should look at problems with driving style and/or mechanical/electrical issues beyond just the coilpacks
  24. ________________________________________________________________________________ _____ wait 12-18 and months with the massive jobless numbers and huge economic disaster now hitting Japan you should be able to go there and get 1 second hand very very cheap
