  1. +1 Juliette, won't make that mistake again. I've got a new ecu to put into it before Nov so should be able to get both front wheels working overtime for the next round. hope to see you there as well, the more FWD is FTW.
  2. -------------------------------------------------------->me Dumbass me using the evo, well back to the FWD I guess.
  3. Thanks to the organisers, sponsors and volunteers again for a great day up there in Shepparton once again. No rain and although cold for those standing outside all day (thanks guys) pretty nice for the middle of winter. Thought the back to back runs in the afternoon because of the wet skidpan was a fantactic idea that maybe could be adopted for the future as well. It was better to get two runs at the same time rather than lining up again.
  4. Sheet, that's a hard call. So you can all take bets on the day as to which car I bring then.
  5. Hey Ryan I've entered the EVO now it's actually running again so I suppose that'll affect the points Although I'm more than I'm happy to bring the FWD again and leave the 6 until next years round. The coupe is on the chopping block so might be good to get as much value out of it as possible. Cheers, Clive
  6. Spotted a black 33 sitting on the side of Canterbury road in Heathmont with it's face punched in big time. Looked so sad. Hope it gets better, nice looking car otherwise.
  7. I'm trying to refit one of these to my Lancer and have my code but no manual so don't know how to key it in. Can anyone help me with this.
  8. What an awesome DECA. Best so far I think and all the others have been great. Been way under the pump since getting back but still feel the buzz. Major kudos to the organisers and volunteers who did/always do an awesome job. Great to see lots of excellent driving and the variety of different cars. Bummer about the rain coming back and felt for the elfin owner but good on Shep for the "no rain ever" status. Really looking forward to the next DECA which the EVO will be back up for. Hope I can do as well as in the Lancer but doubt it. Sob for downgrading from FWD to only AWD. Great to see everyone again as well and cheers to all.
  9. I've been a road user from since probably your parents were your age so I've had lots of experience. I a nutshell off road is ftw. Fast while not being REALLY fast. Plummeting down a fire access track in the power band in top gear only meters away from trees, rocks and the edges of the track is a real buzz. Over the decades I did it I came off most rides (that how you tell how fast you can go) and only broke bones once. Off road riders rarely get killed or badly injured although it does happen. Mind you that can happen just walking down the road. On road is ftl. I've had a number of friends/relatives badly damaged by riding on road. Myself I have only had one incident which stopped me riding on road altogether. But the chances are you will come off or hit something eventually. Sure it's a cheap and convenient way to travel but one day something really bad is going to happen. And most of the time you wont see it coming. On road riders routinely get killed or badly injured sad but true. This is just my opinion re motor bikes. I still have a DRZ400E. Great bike I must clean it up and ride it more.
  10. Thanks, Martin. FWD in the wet is just totally good fun. This was the Lancers first track day ever so was an eye opener. Loved the minis! now there's a real FWD performer (I presume they are also FWD) And a big thanks to all the officials and volunteers on the day out there in the wet
  11. +1, only 1 lap for session 3 (group 4) was a bit of a downer, but no-one came unstuck on the day and at least the last session was dry
  12. yep, that's how it turned out. The hail occurred as I was exiting the sweeper onto the main straight with the wipers going full pelt and still not making much difference to visibility. . A good day tho' in any event. Looking forward to the next round.
  13. Hey John, passing showers eh. You should photoshop your avatar so the red car sideways is the Lancer. I doubt I will be able to keep it in a straight line
  14. ah, thanks so obvious. My bad for not reading. Thanks
  15. Logic is not necessary when imposing dogma (this is why it is not clear what constitutes hoon behaviour) and the police/EPA are not required to be logical/fair. They are there to be raising revenue. If they were logical/fair they would not make so much money (vis 80% increase in fines in the Mornington Peninsular). BTW did you know that you can be fined for skidding over tram tracks in the wet, its true and happened to a work mate. Having said that I suppose I'll get fined for something or other now when the authorities next browse the forum and read my post criticising them. I bet they know the real names and rego number of all of us.
  16. yet .btw the fine for being a pissed girl will be $500 + gst + shoe hire fee of $100 + gst + gst .haha wait until you hear the pissed bloke costs .
  17. Thanks Peter. I haven't started a thread on the CE because the EVO is supposed to be the competition car, but it will be running again at PI this Saturday so hopefully it makes it through the day without incident. I have been promised by the workshop that the EVO engine will be finished BEFORE the end of April so should be back on the tracks after a couple of thousand kms for a run-in and a re-tune. Either way I will have a Lancer of some sort at the next DECA and most of the WRX/SAU track days this year.
  18. ROFL, maybe I should have said rb1.8det, 6 cyl I wish Hmmm thinks 6 cyl hmmm I wonder (thinks some more) hey Juliette I got this idea about how to promote the FWD chances at the next DECA I thinking 6cyl twin turbo, whatcha think?
  19. Thanks but if "NA challenge" means normally aspirated the Lancer doesnt fit that bill. it's basically an rb18det but is in the 2WD class for sure specifically FWD understeer come on down.
  20. Me too, I ran 595's at the recent DECA and thought they were good for traction and with cornering. What pressures are you running in yours?
  21. I'm entered. Shitting my pant's already in preparation for the day. btw if this is rnd 3 and the recent DECA is round 1, what is it that they are actually rounds of and how do you be entered/eligible?
  22. Thanks Martin for the great pics. I didn't realise how small the Lancer seems.
  23. You're welcome Juliette. Not good to miss a DECA. Look forward to seeing the almighty Pulsar at the next one.
  24. So that's it for another sensational, extremely well organised DECA. Well done to everybody concerned. 1st for the year and makes the rest of the year something to look forward to.
  25. Bugger the EVO drivers jk RWD, FWD or AWD it's all about you and your car and what you can do on the day. I go for the fun rather than the competition and to learn to drive my car better. Although it would be good to see a FWD win the day, one day.
