  1. You can grab complete Top Gear eps here (you will need Bittorrent -- I recommend ABC client -- http://pingpong-abc.sourceforge.net/): http://gear.viper007bond.com/ LW.
  2. The 350Z has been very well reviewed, with the most notable exceptions of Top Gear (which hate pretty much anything that isn't British or a supercar) and Autospeed (suspension has been revised since). I don't buy the "Renault screwed it line": that's baseless crap. They couldn't release a TT version if they wanted to (emissions issues) and have actually made any money (there goes Europe and California, two biggest markets). Best bet: drive one yourself. LW.
  3. Is this a damaged panel, or just dodgey phone camera? http://dgenr8.iinet.net.au/takushi/22-08-04_1047.jpg LW.
  4. That's why forged is better than cast LW.
  5. No. It depends how much pinging, for how long, and under what conditions. LW.
  6. Not really. I mean they can probably say "that's pinging" or "its down on power" or "your engine has blown up", but your going to have to crack er' open to know the true extent of the damage. LW.
  7. It depends on the engine and how hard and far its driven when pinging. It may let go with one big bang, or you may just slowly kill it. Either way its not good. LW.
  8. $8,000 for a c/f draft shaft? Anyway, I was asking for brands/models rather than a generally "the lighter the better". LW.
  9. That they are. They also do a lot of stuff that is far less ugly LW.
  10. Hi SK, Not quite sure what you mean. I was basically just wondering how a complete RB30DET/T compares to a complete RB25DET/26DETT in terms of weight/mass. Cheers, Lucien.
  11. I agree it grates when taxes are spent on useless crap, like that $3 tax rebate the government gave us. Woo... three whole bucks. But there is something you can do: vote for someone that has policies you care about. This is after all a democracy, and even if the person/party doesn't win, at least you have shown your opposition to the status quo and your support for the other person/party. LW.
  12. How bout some more piccies? LW.
  13. Interesting: I will need to buy a HICAS-enabled BOSS soonish. Anyone else have experiences with the HKB or another brand? LW.
  14. Does anyone have weights for the RB25/26 bottom end compared to the RB30? LW.
  15. mokompri: How was te HKB boss before you installed the HICAS lock? LW.
  16. You should have had them sent by surface mail (ie. sea) -- it has a customs limit of A$1000 rather than A$250 by "courier services" -- and you would have saved yourself that $400. LW.
  17. Personally I wish more went to welfare payments and redressing the inequalities of our society, and I would reject the idea of a "bludging" culture amongst the majority of welfare recipients. But hey, this is a car forum.. so in the spirit of cars, pay your taxes so we still have some roads LW.
  18. Because that "bullshit" helps to pay for hospitals, the PBS, roads, railways, water and power infrastructure, education, etc... to name but a few things. LW.
  19. Wow... their turn around time must be getting better as others have had to wait 4+ weeks in the past. That, or it could just be the lull before the storm (R32 GT-Rs are about to turn 15 ) LW.
  20. For details on fuels, search: its been gone over a number of times. LW.
  21. Out of interest, how long did DOTARS take to send you your Import Approval from lodgement to actually recieving it? Cheers, Lucien. PS. Congrats on the car
  22. I think it looks OK (certainly better than the Magna!). Its recieved very positive reviews too (both here and overseas). LW.
  23. Patchy: of course the problem if you go for a station that's not used very often is that the fuel (the aromatics, if I understand correctly) start to go "off" and it looses some of its octane levels. LW.
  24. I don't have any mates in Perth LW.
  25. Heh. Don't PM, post if you change your mind LW.
