  1. I was thinking the same thing, but Nismo doesn't produce a lot of exterior stuff for the R32 -- it was released a little early for the whole... *ahem* "ricer" scene So many trinkets, so little cash. I remember someone in a previous Nismo GB thread saying that one type of fuel filler was just a stick on cover and one wasnt: anyone know which is which? Cheers, Lucien.
  2. Hi Guys, The time to send in my application for import approval is drawing closer (still two months away, but better than six! ) so if I want to declare a customs agent on the application form I should really get around to choosing one. So with that in my does anyone have any particular recommendations? I contacted the one that Prestige recommends -- Control Global Logistics -- who seemed pleasant enough, but that's hardly an indication of the quality of their service Edit: The reason I want a good one is the original GT-R wheels will be coming in sitting in the car, so I want someone who will get off their backside and make sure the wheels don't get pinched Cheers, Lucien.
  3. Merli: I thought you were going GT-RS's.. hmmm /me continues the hunt for the perfect "response" turbo. LW.
  4. Who makes those globes? And $200 is a bit of a gouge IMHO. The only globes you want are the original Philips or Osrams, and you shouldn't be paying more than US$60-80 for them (so about A$100).
  5. ed: I think you know what I meant. As I said in my first post, these things depend entirely on the individual turbo too. Personally I take most anything SK says as gospel LW.
  6. Whoops... so, its a completely stock instrument cluster then? Cheers, Lucien.
  7. paulr33: yes, you have to match the hand controller to the PFC: obviously only a problem if you buy seperately, but something to be alert too. Lucien.
  8. Absolutely no reason not to buy a second hand one (taking the usual precautions, obviously). However, I have been monitoring the prices on Yahoo JP pretty closely the last two months and, as Roy alluded too, the prices they fetch -- even in Japan -- is very close if not higher (by the time you include auction fees, agent fees and shipping) than to get a new one from Nengun/Greenline (~$1200 to your door with hand controller). If anyone as a good deal on a used PFC (+ hand controller) for a R32 GT-R, let me know Lucien.
  9. Wow, 10PSI: the "limit" keeps getting lower Perhaps the only really "safe" level is what it comes out of at the factory. LW.
  10. Accepted practice is about 12PSI max on standard turbos, but since each turbo is slightly different, it could be more, it could be less I wouldn't go for 14 personally, but I don't have deep pockets to replace something if it goes wrong.. LW.
  11. Ouch! $220 per globe !? Try this guy -- US$80 per set of original Philips D2Rs: http://www.hidforum.com/forum/showthread.p...=&threadid=6083 Lucien.
  12. You don't happen to have the original tacho as well? Lucien.
  13. Wise words there Duncan Oh, and love the avatar too. LW.
  14. "SuperSportsMirror" apparently. LW.
  15. My thoughts are its a heavily modified car, so you could spend forever trying to work out what parts might be causing problems, particularly since you didn't make the modifications yourself and I doubt they are documented. The owner seems to have gone all out... how much of the stuff added actually improves upon the base car you would never know without stripping it all off and trying piece by piece. As for the legalities, I doubt it could be made road legal even if you were allowed to import it without a CAMS license. Have you thought of an Evo or WRX race car? A number of these have come up recently and they are quite cheap: you would need a CAMS license to bring them in though and they aren't road registerable. Edit: you could always buy a road legal Evo/WRX/whatever shell and switch all the parts from the JP car. LW.
  16. That's because they are "DTM-style" I could have sworn I saw a pic of them actually on a Skyline somewhere in my travels... I will try and dig it up. LW.
  17. Joel: Correct, they are customs exempt. I think Nengun does them for $1200 "to your door" (ie. including shipping/taxes). LW.
  18. /me mutters something about spreading wings and flying
  19. The method they use to determine air pressure is different: you can read the epic battles over which is better by doing a search. I think its got more to do with the tuners available in various states. In WA there is a good reason to go Wolf (since SST are the largest seller/tuner for them); in the eastern states I think the PFC might make more sense. LW.
  20. Woo.. glad to see I am not the only one The best looking "aero" mirrors I have found so far are these -- complete with added LED turn signal bling: LW.
  21. You should be able to use an R33 PFC with no problems (just remember to make sure the map is OK ). For some reason only the 32 and 33 PFC are interchangable; the R34 is different. Anyone know how/why? Edit: A little birdie told me that Apexi has suspended PFC production, and will be stopping production completely for a range of cars; only particularly popular models will be continued, but a "revision two" or something is likely when production starts again. Also, PFCs will now only be sold with hand controllers (at a slightly reduced price). LW.
  22. Basically you can't find out easily. Mines tunes the ECU specifically for a setup: they are not designed to by like a PFC/Wolf which can be changed easily.... Your meant to go back to Mines LW.
  23. No, they just look weird to me -- too small, and the hole and twin support arms look silly IMHO -- but maybe I am in the minority on this. LW.
  24. Looks really nice (externally) for a 4-door, minus the Ganador mirrors (I don't understand the appeal of them!?). Love the huge wheels + camber LW.
  25. Mate, the seller has been banned for dodgey deals.. LW.
