  1. Arr, ok, so the offset helps to compensate? I didn't know that -- I thought it was basically there to ensure the wheel would clear the calipers. So as long as I get the right offset, I should be ok even if I went to the max of 2"s? Can anyone confirm this from experience? Thanks again guys -- appreciate the info. Lucien.
  2. That's not my car. It was the only side on shot of a R32 GT-R in gunmental I could find, so I ripped from somewhere on the interweb. LW.
  3. Thanks, although I think that has made me more confused. As I understand it, the widest and largest wheels fitted to the R32 GT-R were the BBS's that came on the V-spec 1 and 2, and they were 17x8s. Now according to this doc, vehicles with an unsprung weight of 1201kg and over -- which I assume the R32 is -- are allowed to go up to 2" over the largest wheel that was offered on the car: in other words, up to x10s. But, and this is what I don't get, your only allowed a 25mm increase in track-width.. Now track width seems to be measured from the centre of the rim on the left, to the centre of the rim on the right. So you halve the increase in rim width, then times by two, correct? In otherwords 17x9s = 1" increase in track 17x9.5s = 1.5" increase in track 17x10s = 2" increase in track With 25mm (1") being the widest increase in track, the widest one could legally go on an R32 GT-R would thus be x9". Is that right or am I just completely wrong? Gojira: Thanks, I reakon TE37s are awesome, but I am trying to work out if the gunmetal grey TE37s would work with a gunmental R32.... Your photochop makes them look almost bronze/gold Edit: My car has the projector style lights, which I prefer. I will be modifying them anyway for bi-xenon so I need the projector style Lucien.
  4. Hi peeps, Wondering if someone out there with 1337 photochop skills (well, better than my non-existent skills) would be kind enough to chop a set of Volk TE37s in gun-metal onto this R32 GT-R for me -- I'm afraid this is the nearest to a side on shot of a gun-metal R32 GT-R I could fine -- if you have a better one, feel free to substitute: And now the wheel: The colour is a little off, it looks more like this: Thanks guys -- just trying to work out if they will look good, or clash One final thing, is anyone sure what the widest rims you can legally fit an R32 GT-R is in NSW without engineering, and furthermore, what the cost of engineering might be? Lucien.
  5. Ok, definately getting the vibe that x9s are the minimum But does anyone know if I can go wider legally, and also what the max width is for a R32 GT-R without rolling the guards/etc? Thanks, Lucien.
  6. Just a warning about NJstar Asian Explorer: http://www.pestpatrol.com/PestInfo/n/njsta...an_explorer.asp LW.
  7. I have first dips on the one that Rezz spotted sitting in that parking lot if the owner ever stops paying for the parking spot LW.
  8. Hey Duncan, Ok, so I should be looking wider. What's the widest width wheels that came on the R32 GT-Rs, because as I understand it, in NSW you can go one inch wider ...? Cheers, Lucien.
  9. Interesting you say that, because the stockers are 16x8, so are they really too thin? Also, any idea on the price difference for the wider versions of the same tyre to fit x9/x9.5s? LW.
  10. Why thank you sir -- couldn't have done it without you LW.
  11. Hi All, I did a search and (suprisingly) came up with nothing: I would have thought this was an issue already discussed. Anyway, I am looking at getting a new set of wheels for my R32 GT-R due to two reasons: 1) the stock wheels are an odd size 2) I want to get something light weight. Anyway, 17" wheels seem the most logical -- as someone in another thread said "17s for go, 18s for show" -- because it keeps down tyre costs and there is minimal difference in contact patch with larger rims. However, I am unsure what width to go for. Someone recommended I get 17x8s, but what do others recommend? Is there a major advantage getting wider wheels? Also, what sort of cost is associated with having to get tyres for wider wheels? Cheers guys.. Lucien.
  12. Muhahaha.. they shall be mine LW.
  13. Sweet. I have emailed babelfish about the problem because I get it too LW.
  14. You reakon? I can't find any pictures of d-speed branded "winkers" that are clear without the ribbing... LW.
  15. Dammit, why do they have a ribbed texture when the silver GT-R on page 1 of the thread has totally clear (non-ribbed) indicators.... perhaps they are a different brand? LW.
  16. Nice photos, thought that 350Z leaves me cold -- the rear end looks like a cheap Porsche imitation. Still, would love even a fraction of the stuff under the hood LW.
  17. I should also mention that I will consider lights that aren't working. LW.
  18. /me waits for Sydneykid to lay the smackdown Seriously though, intersting info. Can anyone quantify what the benefits of such a design would be over existing designs in real world figures? LW.
  19. Is this a straight replacement for the stock air-box? You wouldn't have a link for it would you? Cheers, Lucien.
  20. I assume these are forged? Do you have weight figures? Edit: Found the link: http://www.hartwheels.co.jp/cat_030218_rac...ypecr/index.htm LW.
  21. A shade of blue could look nice, but might grate if its too dark IMHO. Red is a no-no, gold will just make them hard to see as there will be no contrast again your Volks, so I would say silver would be sweet. LW.
  22. Hi, I am after a set of R32 GT-R headlights, specifically the projector style. Post details or PM me if you have a set for sale. Cheers, Lucien.
  23. You shouldn't be paying more than about $1300 for the two. LW.
  24. funkymonkey: do they do reverse-el? What about GT-R dials? Cheers, Lucien.
  25. T-8 months and counting LW.
