  1. Are there any downsides to these kits? LW.
  2. Hi wreckedhead, Unfortunately he is not interested. As I had suspected its just a question of too many cars at the moment, so replacing one with yet another is not an option. Sorry Lucien.
  3. One of these was for sale on Yahoo Japan. From the top of my head, they want about 4-5 Million Yen or there abouts. Edit: To be clear I mean a Impol/Calsonic R32 GT-R like the one pictured in your link. LW.
  4. Whoops -- just realised I said trips between Sydney and Melbourne when I meant Sydney and Wollongong. Fixed now LW.
  5. I'll check with the old man tomorrow, but I think its highly unlikely as we just have too many cars at the moment (hence the sale). LW.
  6. Per capita, New Zealand without a doubt. Outright? I would still tend towards NZ due to their less restrictive import laws (well, until the latest round). Because Kiwi's are thick? LW.
  7. pics to lwells at bigpond dot net dot au Thanks.
  8. Hi All, My family is selling its Citroen Xantia. It will be going in the Trading Post shortly, but I thought I would give you guys a head start. Details as follows: Citroen Xantia Model: Xantia VSX (5-spd Manual) Year: 1995 (Complied) Mileage: 166,000 Km (Mostly highway travel between Wollongong and Sydney) Mechanical condition: Excellent condition: just serviced, re-gassed spheres, drives like new. 10 months registration. Interior & exterior condition: Good exterior condition: recently resprayed boot lid due to factory paint fault*. Interior condition is very good with minimal wear. Comments: One mature owner since new. The owner has been a Citroen enthusiast for over 25 years and is a member of the Citroen Car Club (NSW) and Citroen Concourse of America. The car has led an easy life with most travel being highway mileage between Sydney and Wollongong. Higher resolution photos are available on request Price: $12,750 (Negotiable) * Please note the car has not actually gone to the paintshop yet. We hope to get it there in the next week. Pictures (and above details) can be found here: http://lwells.techadmins.com/xantia/ The reason for sale is that we just have too many cars. With a recent promotion in the family we recieved a company car so regrettably there is no need for this car anymore. If you have any questions, just post them or feel free to email me ([email protected]) or call Andrew Wells on 02 42727971 (afterhours). Cheers, Lucien.
  9. B-man: Sorry you have gone out on a limb and got burnt. I do hope you reconsider another group buy in the future so that those of us who couldn't take advantage of this deal have a chance in the future. LW.
  10. I don't care which state's logo it is, the example is damn cool. LW.
  11. OMG! He has a switch in his car! I can't believe it! I must be a "non-believer" too.
  12. So will it have "Skyline GT-R" on one-side and "Skylines Australia" on the otherside? Definately interested, but like Rezz would prefer metal. LW.
  13. 600-700HP reliably is going to cost you a lot more than $20k IMHO. Aim for 500-600HP and the costs reduce enourmously. LW.
  14. I saw a yellow Lamborghini Gallardo on sunday afternoon in Parramatta road.. shame its was stop start traffic so I didn't get to hear its rev. LW.
  15. Interesting. What sort of cost are we talking? LW.
  16. Well that really depends how committed the government actually is to the SEVS scheme. Personally I think its more about protecting local industry, but I can understand the arguements for it particularly in regards to vehicle quality (edit: in fact I have argued for SEVS on this very point). However, you would notice I haven't actually argued against SEVS... And I have been reading your posts quite closely. As I said, Geoff has a quite clear vested interest. But I also gave you a direct example from just last week of him suggesting I not buy a car. Since he already has my money sitting in his bank account, if he was really just after the money do you think he would have told me to avoid the car? Anyway, I didn't mean to cause an arguement, just that my personal experience does not tally with your comment. LW.
  17. Last time I checked nobody had plates for the R32, and the cost is likely to be closer to $5k since the government is so ineffecient at approving workshop's applications and thus plates are likely to be in limited supply. LW.
  18. I am not actually arguing against SEVS. Rather I took exception at your assertion that certain people -- and from the details you gave, I assumed (correctly it seems) you meant Geoff -- were willing to import anything that moves as I have personally experienced the exact opposite. LW.
  19. I saw a set on a BMW X5 yesterday -- they were huge too, I am guessing 19-20". It it looked so so horrible! LW.
  20. Don't crash it? Same old, same old. Pod, exhaust, boost controller, good tune and so on. Might help if you gave some indication of your budget and what power figures you want.
  21. Although you haven't been specific, the only people I can think you are referring to is Prestige. If that is the case, I strongly disagree with what you are saying. I am currently looking for a car through Prestige and have found them to be as straight as they come. Just last week I emailed Geoff about a car at auction that I thought looked reasonable and he was quick to point out that it had accident damage and strongly recommended I did not persue purchasing the vehicle. Yes, there are vested interests. Yes they want to keep their businesses going, but that doesn't mean it overrides their sense of integrity. LW.
  22. lol -- you don't say. I seem to remember the filename having (Ash) in it LW.
  23. Is the auction-sheet available (assuming it was sold at auction)? LW.
  24. Agreed. The Brits were boring and had nothing insightful to say. The bit around the N-ring was the highlight, but that was all of about 10 minutes. The rest of the DVD was a snore-fest. LW.
