  1. Price drop: $130 for the set Lucien.
  2. Ok, how about $130 for the set? Lucien.
  3. See above. Its not block to manifold, its head to manifold. Lucien.
  4. Hi, I am not a store/trader, just a private individual. I have only the one set (i.e. four pineapples). You can always order more from Greenline, who are usually very price competitive, but as I said they want over $160, then you have shipping, duty and GST to pay. I would imagine it would cost about $200-220 to land a set via Greenline depending on freight costs and if you get hit with taxes. Edit: The price I am asking is for the set (that is, all four). Lucien.
  5. exXU1: As I already said via PM, I am not willing to accept $100: I don't consider a 33% reduction on the price I am asking as reasonable. I have been more than forthcoming on the cost of these items from a cheap supplier like Greenline. I could have quoted RRP from Australian shops if I wanted to inflate their cost and make my sale look "even better". I'm open to offers, but do try and be reasonable. sky_m6m9: Is your question directed at me or exXU1? I am selling all four and exXU1 offer was for the lot. Having less than four would be useless. Lucien.
  6. The HKS GT-SS's use the standard GT-R flange. http://www.nengun.com/catalogue/product/30 Lucien.
  7. Yeah, I hear those pineapples are good stuff, especially the URAS Super Pineapples. *wink wink.* On a serious note, you say "alloy cradle bushes". Are these designed to replace the standard bushes or are they 'metal pineapples' (i.e. spacers)? Lucien.
  8. The best idea I have heard for checking piping leaks is to mix some soap (eg. morning fresh) with some water and add it to a spray pak. Just spray the suspect joints and bubbles should emerge if its leaking. With the exhaust manifold it tends to be a bit more obvious as there is normally an exhaust 'stain' on the block around the leaking area. Gaskets. You can buy the turbo --> manifold and compressor wheel side gaskets from turbo shops like GCG. The turbo --> dump gasket is a special Nissan design so you need to get that from Nissan AFAIK. Exhaust manifold --> head: get it from Nissan, its pretty cheap. Lucien.
  9. You must have deep pockets. I hear its a 15 hour job (at least according to John from UAS in passing: how accurate he was being I don't know). So what's that? 15h @ $50/h. Have you checked the 'twin turbo pipe' bolts, where it joins the feeds for the turbos? Apparently its quite common for the highside bolt on the rear turbo feed to come undo. Lucien.
  10. and about five days.... Real PITA job on a GT-R. I'd make absolutely sure it isn't someting else first. Lucien.
  11. You run a mineral based oil? Ok then...... Lucien.
  12. Then I'll buy a Stagea If not that, I would look maybe at a Subaru liberty or something from Europe. Call me biased, but the durability and fit and finish of Australian products doesn't impress me. They look fine on the showroom floor, but start to shake, rattle and roll after a couple of years. I think Rezz hit the nail on the head: the Falcon is already a heavy car and adding 4WD to it will make it a bit of pig in performance applications. Whoopie if they can make it go fast in a straight line: I don't really find that impressive these days. Rubbish. Falcons are so common because Ford offered (until very recently) a stripped out taxi pack whilst Holden et al didn't. Amazingly as soon as the Taxi pack ended, new taxis are increasingly Avalons because Toyota is doing them a special deal. Moreover, whilst the crappy resale of the Falcon (particularly AU) has been bad for private/fleet owners, its been great for Taxi drivers who can buy cheaply in the second hand market. Yes the fact that the Holden (buick-sourced) 6 was a hunk of junk no doubt encouraged discerning (ha!) taxi drivers to choose a Falcon. However, its only one small aspect of the picture. Lucien.
  13. Thank you: my reply was tongue-in-cheek Lucien.
  14. Most likely a gasket, probably on the exhaust manifold (they warp over time from expanding/contracting). Usually it means you have to get the flange resurfaced and new gaskets. Up side is it should be easier with a single turbo setup (rather than the GT-R's nightmare). LW.
  15. I don't think anyone is interested in the absolute specifics, just after an idea of how much engineering $600 buys With the exhaust system, did they do an emissions test? Lucien.
  16. More specifically, what modifications did you have engineered for $600? Lucien.
  17. My car is exactly the same, except the whistle/screech is more evident at low throttle and once warm (metal expands closing gap) goes away. Already gone through replacing it once: time to do it again shortly (horrible, horrible, horrible job). PFC on the way too... weeeeeeeeee... hopefully get some decent economy soon! Lucien.
  18. I had a go at cleaning your picture up a bit: Lucien.
  19. Selling on consignment is standard industry practice: I'm not sure what their legal obligations are though in terms of informing a purchaser as to who owns the vehicle. Lucien.
  20. Please don't: thrashing these details and ideas out is great for those of us who are trying to learn about turbos. It also provides a nice point of reference if someone brings up the same issues at a later date. Lucien.
  21. I don't know if you are taking the piss or just delusional Seriously, I don't know that much, I just try and learn from the many far smarter people on these forums like SteveL, SydneyKid, Roy, Duncan, etc, etc, etc. I also try and do as much on my car as I can: no better way to learn than first hand experience! I imported a GT-R a little while ago so I have been through all these steps already My understanding is its no great problem if one of the ancilliary -- ie. aircon, powersteering -- belts breaks, assuming it doesn't damage anything when it snaps. If they look a bit frayed, I'd just replace them anyway as they aren't likely to be all that pricey. No direct experience in this area (my belts looked fine ), so maybe someone else can comment. Lucien.
  22. Actually, its a $10,000 fine IIRC. Lucien.
