Nope, the problem predates the cam install (I'm thinking perhaps the CAS is had it or the ECU has lost it). Nathan thought the cams I supplied might be copies because of the Otomoto logo on them, but AFAIK all their stuff has their logo silkscreened on and the cam gears themselves looked like really well made bits of kit.
-
My bad, I was confusing them with Apexi
-
Are you talking about the chassis rails? I was under the impressions it is an extremely bad idea to use these are jack points as they tend to bend and buckle.
-
Ar, ta for that. Wonder why they stopped making them? I had a set of OS Giken wheels installed last week which I bought through Pete (he can probably get more if you need some). Still have some issues to sort though (Nath says timing is jumping around and he can only connect to the ECU when the enginr is off which is all very annoying).

Beer Baron / Roy: Sorry I've been so slow to get around to this. As I explained to Bl4cK32, I've been the only one looking after work for the past fortnight (everyone pissed of on an overseas training junket) and just haven't had time to organdise (winnie the pooh stylee) payment, etc for this. Hope it doesn't cause any major inconvenience.

I should just clear something up. I reread what I wrote last night and it comes across as more argumentative than I wanted. I apologise. I was tired and in a hurry. There is not venom in my argument, even if it appeared otherwise. No, that's a fair point, but I would point you again to police officers involved in undercover drug operations. Here's a nice example from WA regarding police soliciting prostitutes (from here) I am at work at the moment so my time is somewhat limited. I will try and dig something up. Edit: Here is another quite interesting use of police powers: http://www.abc.net.au/pm/content/2006/s1621416.htm

Yes, I am more than aware of that, thank you My point was its not entrapment as originally suggested because it doesn't exist. As for your other points, yes I listed primarily reactive police powers; I don't have time to list every single example. I think the example listed above of an undercover drug bust is quite good. Stop and search powers are similar. In niether case has the law necessarily been breached before police act, rather there is merely the suspicion that a criminal act may take place. The fact that one is driving around in a high performance car is perhaps enough to suggest that you are a person of interest.

Yes, obviously. However, I again repeat: they are subject to a different set of laws (in certain circumstances). I'm not quiet sure why people are having so much trouble with this. Look, if they were subject to the exact same laws, even arresting someone would be illegal (it could be construed as assault and depreiving someone of their liberty). They wouldn't be allowed to chase other cars (dangerous driving), breach the speed limit (speeding), break down doors to save and/or arrest people (trespass, property damage), the examples are endless. Sorry, but to me it just sounds like some people are trying to make excuses: "oh, yes I am against street racing *but* its so unfair for police to encourage it". Its not illegal. Its not entrapment. Street racing is for morons.

Congrats. Out of interest, did you actually buy it from Edward Lee's (ie. of the lot), or did they just do compliancing?
-
Ummmm.. because they are not "breaking the law"? Police are not normal citizens and have special powers granted to them under law. If they did not, practically everything they do as part of their job would be illegal.

Payment made as per PM and SMS

Those shoes are too heavy for decent running IMHO.

Yup. The outer rubber on mine was hard as rock (parking in the sun didn't soften it one iota) so it breaks as you pull it out. Moreover the hook it connects too is easy to rip.
-
Each I assume? Was that to completely remove and reseat them though? Someone else mentioned to me it cost them around the $200 mark, so it might not be completely off base. Edit: Also, from farking around with the rear windscreen, I can say its not as easy as it looks to remove. There is an outer covering rubber, corner pieces, an inner hook plastic (that the outer rubber hooks in to), then the actual sealant the window sits on. Its stupidly complex.
-
What's availability like (as I am sick of looking at the tear in mine)? Be interesting to see if we can get them for less from Adeliade. BTW, who is your "glass guy" that has/will replace your front/rear windscreen rubbers?
-
Well have you tried any of the shops recommended in this thread or the one I linked.......??
-
I'd be definately down for a driver's side one (and possibly passenger) if they are about $120ea.
-
Do you know of any window place that has actually replaced the seals? I've head of using the bomodore seals (and IIRC someone else mentioned using a Mitsubishi mirage seal to me once) but I don't want to rock up to the local Obriens only to have the person ask "what's a skyline? R32" or have dollar signs light up in their eyes

R34 Chassis Damage, Will It Be The Same Again?
lwells replied to R34 Sedan's topic in New South Wales
I don't doubt what you say; if you find a good shop and they spend the time then I'm sure you'll have no problems. However, I think the problem is probably mostly placebo (or a poorly done job); because you know the car has been shunted there is always that nagging doubt. You're also likely to loose out on reselling due to repair (any buyer worth their salt will either walk away or try and use it to bargin), so having it written off is probably a good thing for most people. -
When I spoke to Loiuse at Xclusive Colour about 12 months ago, I think he said his resprays start at about $3k for standard jobs. BTW, searching is good http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...topic=79041&hl=

Well, on four door Skylines a rear window would be something else Have you tried using a rubber rejuvenator? Meguirs is probably the easiest to get. They are suppose to soften and recolour the rubber. There are some other dodgier options: I've seen tyre black/shine work quite well, but obviously you probably don't want to apply that in case it gets on the paint. Others say a couple of WD-40 treatments works wonders. For a couple of bucks it might be worth a go?

That depends how hard you run. I do 30 minute runs all the time and usually cover 7-8km; the machine reakons thats about 500-ish calories. You want to do at least 20 minutes of sustained exercise that raises your heatrate a couple of times a week. Don't try and flog yourself to death once a week for two hours because you are more likely to wear yourself out than anything else. Also remember there are two goals with exercise: the first and most obvious is weight loss, but the second often overlooked benefit is increasing your cardiovascular fitness. Although you'll find things easier as a result of weight loss (less to move, less fat clogging your arteries, etc), if you push you heartrate up for a sustained period you are basically exercising your cardiovascular system by making your heart stronger, increasing lung capacity, etc. Most of the cardio machines have an explanation of how it works, but basically if you can at about 60-65% of your max heatrate you are in the fatburning zone, if you go at about 75% your in the cardiovascular training zone.

Are we talking rear "window" (i.e. 3/4 window) or "windscreen"? I was talking rear windscreen. I priced it about 12 months ago. I was told I couldn't buy the rubber seperate from the kit, but the kit was available. I know others have replaced theirs using aftermarket ones designed other cars, but I've never been able to find anyone to tell me what they had fitted or where. My drivers side window seal (the one the window actually touches) is cracked at the top of the B-pillar so I will be interested to see if you can find a decently priced replacement.
-
Are you talking rear 3/4 window or rear windscreen. I priced the rear windscreen seal kit (includes the rubbers, fastners and some sort of expoxy or something) awhile ago and it was crazy expensive (off the top of my head, about $650).

Actually they can be. Obviously you need to remove the glue, but someone on here claims to have remapped their mine ecu recently.
