  1. You'll notice that SK explicitly said the R33 GT-R oil pump, whereas the thread I linked was discussing the differences between the R32 GT-R and N1 pumps. Someone else will have to comment as to the difference between the R32 and R33 GT-R pumps. LW.
  2. http://www.arcinter.co.jp/ Richard: Unshielded I imagine? I remember you saying that your thought the Apexi's looked to have a much better design than the HKS's, but no noticeable difference is a bit of a bummer. Still, will be very interesting to see how the ARC compares. LW.
  3. Thanks. I just noticed the sizes are listed on ARC's website: doh. Interesting that both the R33 and 34 airbox have a larger primary filter. I have emailed Pipercross asking if they have appropriately sized filters. I will be very interested to see your impressions vis-a-vis pod filters. Lucien.
  4. Some interesting info in this thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=75069 LW.
  5. Richard: When you get a sec, can you measure the size of the two filters. Would be very nice to be able to replace them with Pipercross units ;-) LW.
  6. Because Redline explicitly recommends it? http://www.redlineoil.com.au/oil-finder-de...&ProductID=7592 LW.
  7. Yes, you can save money, but at least the off-the-sheld japanese catbacks are largely a known quantity when it comes to quality of construction, noise and (potentially) R&D. There have been a number of threads in which people have gotten a local install only to find it far too noisey or droney. LW.
  8. IMHO -- and I have no evidence to back this up -- I think the flex joint is a very good idea. Anything the reduces the amount of movement exerted on "fixed" parts (ie. the turbos) is a good thing. Whilst the exhaust is mounted with rubber grommets to allow it to move about, the turbos aren't. Transmitting all that vibration without a dampening effect doesn't seem like a good idea IMHO. williamsf1 said that the trust units he got recently had a flex joint, even though the press photos don't show one. LW.
  9. Have you hooked up a consult cable to check all the sensors/diagnostics? LW.
  10. The reason I asked about fuses is that if a fuse blows you can get erroneous sensor warnings. Double check all the fuses (there are three for the aircon IIRC), and if you have found one has blown obviously replace. My guess if it blows again is that you're suffering from the same problem I am: worn out windings on the aircon compressor magnetic clutch. Cheers, Lucien.
  11. Sifn't Fujitsubo SuperTi. MMmmmmmmm. I love how the Fujitsubo's also have a rounded edge where the muffler proper joins the tip. LW.
  12. Yes, because R32 GT-Rs really help boost your bank balance LW.
  13. GTR32: Yes, I know, I have been keeping a close eye on this thread. However, I was hoping for clarrification. The problem I forsee is: how do you isolate the performance gained from the manifold alone -- which I think most of us are interested in -- from the performance gained from changing turbos, dumps, etc, etc? Those are major modifications in my books. I don't see how you can have a comparable baseline. As I said, I'm in a position where I need to change the manifolds shortly anyway and would happily voluntier, but like most people I want to change the dumps at the same time which I think would just raise more questions than it answers. People will forever say "oh but he also changed X-Y-Z so that invalidates the result". Just my 0.02c. Feel free to ignore. LW.
  14. Have you checked all the fuses for your aircon? LW.
  15. I'm note quite sure I see your point? LW.
  16. Impul RS's at a guess, but the photo is blurry and so zoomed out its hard to be sure. http://www.c-red.com.au/parts/used-rims/20...29/DSC03011.jpg LW.
  17. :werd: You can't just evaluate brands, you need to be specific. For instance, anything in the Falken Ziex range is generally thought of as rubbish, whilst their FKs are quite well regarded (for the money). LW.
  18. If you look at Ray's fitting chart for the TE-37, you'll notice that they actually warn that the 18x9.5 +22s (which is the recommended offset) stick out from the guards http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/cgi-bin/cgi2/m...E37&inchIndex=5 Lucien.
  19. I use the NGKs. Personally I don't see the point in buying iridium or plugs when coppers are absolutely fine and very cheap. The obvious exception is where its a PITA to change the plugs and the longer life of the more expensive plugs is more worthwhile. LW.
  20. And you didn't stick any in your suitcase.... you obviously haven't been well trained What sort of price are these V-cam systems? LW.
  21. Mark: I'd also do all the exhaust side gaskets (manifold, turbo, dump) and check all the surfaces are true/straight. Should be very easy to do with the engine out but a PITA with it in. Also a good time to upgrade the dumps and turbos LW.
  22. ROFLMAO. Thanks for the laugh Only thing they would be cutting our of your car is your VIN plate You only need wheels engineered if, as others have said, you go beyond the stated limits for track width and rolling diameter. LW.
  23. Spotted CerealKiller on Victoria Rd yesterday afternoon. LW.
  24. Maybe Lucas should just hand over Star Wars to someone more capable LW.
