I can't bring myself to drill holes in my baby Besides which, the wing removal is only a 5 minute job at best. LW.

Hi Mark, Your welcome. One thing I would add: have a stanley knife blade (or similar) around in case you need to cut through the sticky stuff used to hold down the outer edges of the wing. Also, when/if you take off the brackets inside the wing struts, be careful not to loose the washers. LW.

Was that a standard flush, or power flush? Cheers, Lucien.

Hi All, Did a search... trawled through hundreds of results, but no luck. Was just wondering if anyone has had any experience fitting an R34 (GT-R) exhaust to an R32 (GT-R)? I assume the floorpans are very similar, so with the exception of the hangers, is there any other problems? Cheers, Lucien.

Just to side track a little bit, how much should one be paying for a flush and powerflush on a R32 GT-R radiator? LW.

I had this problem I kept hearing a water sloshing sound every time I opened the boot. First thoughts were in the spoiler, but couldn't see any holes so I was worried it might be the boot lid. Thankfully it wasn't. I completely removed the spoiler (two bolts for each "stand"; there is also some stick strips to hold in in place), removed the bracket inside the stands (two screws on the inside of the stands) and undid the row of screws along the underneath of the spoiler. The amount of pressure that had built up in the wing was quite impressive (large hissing noise when I undid the screws). I spent the better part of half an hour removing probably a litre of water by rocking the wing side to side. I also use an air compressor to try and blow out the water. Then just did the operation in reverse to reattach. Like jake32, I am completely puzzled how water go in there. There is no obvious entry point, and the fact that there was a buildup of pressure suggests it was reasonably air tight. Weird. LW.

Experience with Nengun performance?
lwells replied to RedEmblem's topic in General Automotive Discussion
How many hundreds of these threads do we have to have? Wonder if Prank can add some custom addon that automatically forces people who start threads containing "nengun" and "exeperience" to search first http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/se...searchid=166008 LW. -
Royalstar: very hard to judge. The number of dead stock (or near stock) R32 GT-Rs of sufficient quality (so you aren't risking being knocked back by the RAWS for a damaged car) is not going to be very big. So you have a much smaller number of cars available, and likely more demand for those cars. Although obviously a flawed formula, supply and demand has some relevance and suggests prices are likely to rise (near) stock R32 GT-Rs in good condition. A higher initial purchase price means that taxes and duties also cost more (though the drop from 15 to 10 percent duty as of 1 Jan 05 will help). Finally you have the cost of SEVS. Plate prices will again depend on supply and demand: I imagine they will be about $5000 to start with, and drop to $3000-3500 as more RAWS acquire authorisation for R32 plates. LW.

I didn't buy the house, the parents did, and it was bought a 10 years ago when the issue of offstreet parking wasn't a ... errr.. issue Love the house, love the area (except for the fsckers who mess with other people's cars), don't want to move. Thanks for the suggestion re: your garage. At the moment I will confine my search to Leichhardt and see what I come up with. If I get desperate, I might PM you My search really hasn't started in earnest as there isn't much of a hurry: the car is in Wollongong so I can work on it off street with the fatherly figure (you know, bonding, blah blah blah) and still has some stuff that needs doing. Car is insured through NRMA at the moment: I don't think there will be any problems at all As for the steam cleaning, it was done somewhere in Wollongong (father organised it). I assume you want somewhere a little closer I know that Nathan recommended some guys (who are apparently also on SAU) that do detailing: they might have steam cleaning facilities? Otherwise, just check the yellowpages as there are a tonne of detailing places. Lucien. -

There is more offstreet parking than you might think: there is quite a few "upwardly mobile" type couples who don't have cars (well, at least I am hoping there is ). Not sure the best way to find one: will have to stick up some wanted posters soon I agree that's one of the benefits of the 15 year rule. However, the range of locally available cars in the condition I was after wasn't that great. When I was looking to buy most were around the $30K mark and had questionable history (if any at all). Better examples were $35K+. Basically I wanted to get as good an example I could because, as a student, I couldn't afford to land up with some bomb that would bleed me dry from day one. If I was in a different position -- ie. employed with a reliable salary -- I could have taken the chance, but this way I get a fantastic car that I can modify the way I want over the coming years. It meant paying quite a lot up front (dead stock cars in Grade 4 condition are very expensive), but its easier to account for that than lots of 'unknown' costs later down the track Anyway, enough of me. Edit: By the way, thank you for the nice comments on the car. It really is in fantastic condition... I just wish I had some nicer photos that actually showed that LW. -
The Drag sub-forum is probably a more appropriate place to ask: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/fo...isplay.php?f=17 LW.

You can get the boots from Jay: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=35694 Thanks matey: I am very happy with it (though sometimes I wonder if I should have gone to the opposite end and imported something modded off its tits). The car is about as stock as it comes: AFAIK the only changes made is an aftermarket exhaust. Apart from that, everything was factory (including the log books... which got lost/stolen ). Selling a house is a little extreme just for parking Probably easier to just hire a garage (~$40-50 per week) in the surrounding streets. LW. -

Mark, Unfortunately my car isn't undercover and, as your pointed out, its been rather wet lately. Its got a nice layer of brown dust. It was however washed thoroughly when it got off the boat, so I am not too worried about the paint (which seems to be in great condition) actually being damaged. I am hoping to find a garage to rent somewhere in Leichhardt (where I live; car is currently stored at my dad's in Wollongong) shortly as I don't have any offstreet parking, let alone undercover parking. You can read why its not parked in Leichhardt here. My car had a lot of mould on the interior from six months of storage in Japan (look at the door pockets). A good clean with Meguiars products, a vacuum, and steam cleaning of the front and rear seats has completely gotten rid of the mould (thank god). I would be careful with Armourall: what I have read suggests that as the Armourall dries it can crack the plastics. The boots are definately a good buy IMHO. They are cheap, money goes to the club, and they are so much nicer than the shite from Nissan For those that don't know, I completely documented my import process at Overclockers Australia. You will need to register, but its painless and an interesting place to boot I have also started a maintenance worklog thread there as well. LW.
