  1. Braided lines: http://members.ozemail.com.au/~earls/ http://www.maltech.com.au/ (Steve @ Maltech is a great guy) LW.
  2. Nope, not just high speeds. While parked, get a mate to yank your cars steering wheel to full lock (left or right) and watch the back wheels. Jordan: You wouldn't experience ATTESA unless you own a GT-R or GTS-4. sav man: have you tried getting in to HICAS diagnostic mode yourself? Its not all that hard: instructions are in the FAQ forum. Actual understanding the codes is a bit difficult though LW.
  3. Yup. Unfortunately (as I think you know), they never made it on to my car, but of course that wasn't discovered till I collected the car. Since then they have been waiting to ship, but caught in the same delays as everone else is experiencing. Should find out in the next few days if they have actually made it or (more likely) nicked. Edit: I also agree with the phone call things. Emails are nice because its a casual form of communication: that also means they are easy to ignore or people just fire off stock responses if they are overloaded. LW.
  4. I used about 4.3l for mine, excluding any spills LW.
  5. It would be extremely unusual to have a diff whose oil can't be changed However, the easiest way to check is to stick your head under the car and look for a drain plug on the (rear, I assume) diff. If its in the standards R200 enclosure as per a lot of Nissans, it should be dead obvious. LW.
  6. HICAS = 4 Wheel Steering ATTESA = 4 Wheel Drive. LW.
  7. Hush you! :uzi: You aren't even bringing in a Skyline, so get off our forum. At least my car is in Australia More likely there will be some wharfie driving around in a Bombadore with grey 18" TE37s with wrong offset LW
  8. What sort of diff are you running in the rear? Might account for the skipping sensation. LW.
  9. Its possible that its been relocated, but that would be most unusual. Its got to be there somewhere, unless someone removed the power steering LW.
  10. Yeah, they make one that I think is 2 US pints or just under a litre. LW.
  11. We'll see. I am still entirely unconvinced that I will ever see them. Hopefully know by next week. Fingers crossed.... LW.
  12. What do you mean "run out of gear box oil"? I replaced the gearbox oil in my R32 GT-R a couple of weeks ago with Redline Lightweight Shockproof. I needed about 4.3lts all up: luckily I bought an extra 2 pint bottle (or whatever it is) as it was a three hour round trip to the closest Redline stockist LW.
  13. You can just as easily loose your licence doing the speed limit (dangerous driving charge for accelerating unnecessarily quickly) as going over, so I wouldn't worry so much about that As other have said, take both for a drive (if you can): anything other than your own impressions are rather pointless. FWIW, you can get an RB26 going lower in the rev range without too much work: cams, exhaust and intake mods, and wise turbo choice will help considerably. LW.
  14. Somebody broke the HTML The NRMA booklet is a little out of date. Probably the top 3-point standards compliant alarms are Brant, Black Widow, Mongoose and Autowatch. Remember, no matter how good the alarm, 90 per cent of it comes down to the install. If the installer does it in a hurry (like at some of the major car audio chains), then its next to useless. LW.
  15. Nick: Just to avoid confusion, I assume you mean this unit: http://216.239.39.104/translate_c?u=http:/.../boost/evc.html Its known as the EVC 5 in the US market, and the EVC IV/Gold in the JDM. I have one, but haven't got around to hooking it up yet. LW.
  16. Speaking of taboo subjects, I have another question (hope we aren't overloading you Rezz ). Are there any common 'western' behaviours or customs (or similar) that are particularly offensive to Japanese people and/or are frowned upon? Obviously I realise there is probably generational issues at work as well, but if you could generalise a bit about "mainstream Japan" Lucien.
  17. Richard: yeah, no worries. Just passing on what I have been told Seems like the luck of the draw at the moment. LW.
  18. I got the news from a dealer with a couple of cars waiting to clear... As I said, they were advised by customs/AQIS that clearance/quarantine may take up to two weeks. Edit: to be clear, these cars were on the Kiwi Prince No. 1, offloaded at Brisbane. LW.
  19. More important than the actual amount: do you find that you can live reasonably well on your salary? LW.
  20. I assume this is the first car that we "own", as opposed to the first car you "used" (ie. the family's car). If that's the case, R32 GT-R. LW.
  21. I used Castrol SAF-XA for my diffs. Expensive stuff (~$25 per litre). You will need almost exactly 3lt if you are doing both diffs (on a R32 GT-R anyway). LW.
  22. I have heard by way of someone else waiting on a car that quarantine is overloaded and advising up to two weeks delay. LW.
