  1. Email sent. Cheers, Lucien.
  2. By "really cheap" I assume you mean not very good, as opposed to cheap to buy? LW.
  3. Troy: you car is a R34 GT-R isn't it? In which case it will have relatively fresh paint anyway. Its when the clear coat layers start to break down over the years that paint starts to look dull and lifeless. LW.
  4. Yeah, he disappeared: a PM'ed him some time ago for details but he never replied He did popup just after the EVLR34 crash, but seems to have disappeared again. I think if you go back and read what I said, I stated I was happy to enjoy the car stock for the time being while I get use to it and my bank balance recovers. My plan has always been to eventually try and build my own little 'response GT-R' -- ie. modify it the way *I* want, hence having a blank canvas -- but its some time in the hazy distance. My interest in Merli's build is because he seemed to be doing exactly the same thing... I particularly wanted to see how the GT-SS's turned out. Awful that it all went bang Lucien.
  5. Did Merli ever post any details after his rebuild? I really wanted to know how it went as he was doing almost exactly what I would like too... LW.
  6. I wouldn't agree with that. This is exactly the point I was trying to make before: installation is the most critical part of an alarm setup. That's why this thread is rather pointless... if the car is stolen, is it because of a dud alarm or a dud install? If you want ultimate theft protection, get a Brant Nemisis. I think they have lost something like two or three cars in the past year, all when the owners gave out the PIN code. But just because the cars weren't physically stolen doesn't mean they weren't raped for parts or damaged... LW.
  7. Rather hilarious interview with Hiroshi Yamauchi, former CEO of Nintendo: http://www.gamerah.com/noticias.php?bias=180#180 He certainly has some balls LW.
  8. You missed this pearl. LW.
  9. Nothing, but there is no harm in trying other products (well, unless they are inappropriate of course) LW.
  10. *Cough* http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=54235 Edit: Read the second page of the thread too... LW.
  11. Which don't work properly with automatics. What fantastic insight. LW

  14. But it has four fog lamps (one for each door?), so it must be worth it. LW.
  15. Who is this guy? How much for the gas switch? Cheers, Lucien.
  16. Mr R32 M-Spec: There is a thread in the General forum: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=60002 As of Jan 1 2005 import duties dropped from 15 to 10 per cent. LW.
  17. PHATR32: That's entirely possible. Of course you have the best idea since you can inspect the car Having said that, the damage looks like it came from below, not sideways (as it would if you skidded into a curb).
  18. Why not just ask your newsagent to get it in, or subscribe to HPI? LW.
  19. I am also eyeing a set of the Trust front/extension pipes. Mmm. Shame my bank balance sucks. Where are people getting prices from? LW.
  20. Just remember that no matter how good the alarm it all rather academic unless the installer took the time and care to install it properly. Well respected brands that are Australian Standards compliant include Brant, Mongoose and Black Widow (though I have heard some unconfirmed rumours about Black Widow quality). LW.
  21. Mashrock: how do you know its not from forklifts? How else do you suppose they move the cars around? You don't actually think they drive them everywhere do you? Oh and you would have to be completely retarded to jack a car up on a chassis rail to change a tyre let alone anything else. LW.
  22. What about dump and front pipes? Cheers, Lucien.
  23. Rezz: I'm sure what you say its true, but it can be important for insurance claim purposes to work out where the damage occurred (though, IMHO, its an uphill battle). Doubtless the shipping companies and/or storage companies and/or auction houses -- or any other of the people that get access to these cars during their eventual journey to Australia -- use the same methods as bad dealerships: wheel out the forklift, bugger the consequences. LW.
  24. Are they all stock parts? LW.
