  1. I agree with Richard. Don't "assume" anything in the import game. Just because your agent hasn't mentioned a charge doesn't mean they are absorbing the cost: it is more likely they have just forgotten to organise the transport or mention the cost. Edit: makes more sense after fixing the spleeling. LW.
  2. Yes you can... it just means you don't go beyond first or second gear LW.
  3. Yes, they can. You aren't actually utilising any of the various laws or regulations until you lodge an application for Import Approval. The purchase was made in Japan, the car resides in Japan... it basically got nothing to do with Australia and its laws/regulations. If you lodged an IA application and then the law changed, that would be a different kettle of fish. LW.
  4. Something like that. I was told they are coming in on Kiwi. Was meant to leave about Dec 20, which I thought was when the Prince was scheduled to leave? LW.
  5. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...1621#post901621 LW.
  6. I would recommend a Pippercross panel filter based on some info that SydneyKid posted... LW.
  7. I agree with PVA. This has been covered at least three times in the last few months (that I can remember, so probably even more). A quick search would turn up the relevant threads. LW.
  8. Hi Richard, Why do you say: I mean if I am going to replace the seals on the master cylinder, surely I need to empty it? LW.
  9. I think bennettaru might be asking which shipping line you got it here by, as the agent is rather irrelevant if the damage was caused when the car was moved for storage/shipping. Judging by your avatar it was a Japan Auto Direct car (even if you bought through Prestige). LW.
  10. Abo Bob: Can you ask him about the new three-layer tints (available? price? blah) next time you speak to him. Cheers, Lucien.
  11. Mashrock: its the stuff you can't see that tends to go bang... LW.
  12. You'll notice that on the most part only people with positive experiences have posted thus far...... LW.
  13. I am going to install my shiny new braided lines shortly, and completely flush the old brake fluid (I may even service the brake master cylinder if I can be bothered). If I want to completely flush the system, am I best of dropping all oil of out the system, putting the new stuff in, then bleeding or dropping a little of the old stuff, topping up the master cylinder, dropping some more, repeating until fluid bleeding is the new stuff? Finally, does anyone have an approximate figure for the amount of brake fluid required when doing a complete flush? (The workshop manual doesn't list an amount). Lucien.
  14. You can "self-engineer" a range of modifications (well, at least you can in NSW). In otherwords its fine to make certain changes without approaching an engineer. LW.
  15. If you looked a little more closely you would see that SK owns an R32 GTS-t.... I just recently removed the stock wheel on my R32 GT-R. It was fscking bitch to get off. In the end it took me yanking the top as hard as I could while my dad whacked the bottom with a rubber mallet. Oh, and make sure you have the nut on a couple of turns so it doesn't fly in to your face LW.
  16. On a R32 GT-R the HICAS "sensor" prongs are at about 1 and 7 o'clock. If you have the OEM steering wheel, you can align the two dots (one on the steering wheel, one on the shaft) to get the sensor prongs in the right place. You will need a HICAS-enabled boss kit. If you boss kit forces you to move the prongs from 1 and 7 to some other configuration it is the wrong boss. LW.
  17. What is the best way to bleed the actuator oil? For interest sake, here is what the guy from Nissan Japan had to say:
  18. I realise they are not dump pipes. If you look at http://www.trust-power.com/02greddy/extention_fp.html you can see that the Trust/Greddy front/extension pipe runs a seperate pipe for wastegate gasses. Just wondering if these ones do too: from you reply, I am guessing no LW.
  19. My understanding is that Matic D is "Nissan Power Steering Fluid"; "Nissan Power Steering Fluid Special" is different again. LW.
  20. Troy: how do you ensure that the chassis is true and straight once you have repaired it? Any weird handling characteristics (or the like) as a result of the bent rail (post fixing, obviously)? LW.
  21. Bummer, thanks for trying. Problem is that TAX doesn't seem to have a HQ that I can contact, but just seperate dealerships. Might see if I can find out exactly which dealership sold the car and go from there. Lucien.
  22. My car was stored for about four months. Thankfully there was no damage to the car beyond some interior mould. LW.
  23. Most people use a Dexron III compliant ATF for the actuator. Technically, your not meant too: you should use only Nissan Power Steering Fluid Special (NPSFS) according to some heavyweight at Nissan Japan. Speaking to SydneyKid, he said the only reason for this is because NPSFS is designed with snow/ice condition in mind. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone actually managed to find NPSFS and how much it cost (for interests sake). LW.
  24. Did you end up getting Nissan Power Steering Fluid Special, or something else? What was the cost (if you don't mind me asking)? Lucien.
