  1. Hi Guys, Looking to do some work on the ole R32 GT-R 'zilla over the Christmas --> New Years break. Below is what I plan to do in terms of fluid flushes/changes, along with the fluid/oil. I was wondering if people can give me an idea of just how much of each oil/fluid I will need for each of the jobs...? Also, recommendations are welcome : Gearbox oil - Redline Lightweight Shockproof (~4 litres) Transfer case oil - Dexron III compliant ATF (~2 litres) Front Diff oil - ??? (~1 litre) Back Diff oil - ??? (~1.5 litres) Brake fluid - Motul DOT 5.1 Brake Fluid (??? litres) Coolant - ??? Already done: Power Steering Fluid - Castrol Transmax Z (~1 litre) Engine Oil - Royal Purple (~7 litres) Cheers, Lucien.
  2. Picked up my lines today: thanks to Al for organising this g/b. So, anyone get a brake line replacement tutorial LW.
  3. If I remember rightly, the last time there was a voucher system. The vouchers were valid for awhile so people would be able to purchase and get the tinting done a bit later. LW.
  4. Bumpity. Anyone willing to organise? LW.
  5. I'll let you know when I drive my car a bit more (ie. its a GT-R with no GT-R badge) LW.
  6. Well is it a GT-R? No? Well there is your answer LW.
  7. Legislation from state-to-state differs. Western Australia is the most 'LHD-friendly' state, although I think they are either changing, or have recently changed, their legislation in regards to LHD cars. In pretty much all the other states you will have to convert the car unless you apply for some sort of special restrictive registration. LW.
  8. Oh this sucks: my GT-R doesn't even have a GT-R badge. Next time you see a GTS-t with a GT-R badge, steal it and send it to me to give it a rightful home LW.
  9. Its not for me, its for a mate. I will let him know about the thread so he can contact you if he is interested. Lucien.
  10. Is this an aftermarket jobbie, or off something? What does it fit? Cheers, Lucien.
  11. It seems to come down to three basic things: 1) which dock/port 2) which shipping company 3) luck. Of course having an agent who isn't on the case isn't going to help matters. LW.
  12. I have heard much the same (ie. shipping via Kiwi is OK at the moment). LW.
  13. There is likely to be some difference between a 'proper' N1 and an engine-swap: it depends how thorough the swap was as to exactly what parts you will have installed. LW.
  14. MRK25T: Apart from being lied to, if that is in fact the case, I wouldn't worry too much about your car being stolen since Japan historically has such low crime rates. And it is high security... I can see a gate LW.
  15. Sprinta: I am sure Geoff is doing everything he can. I have been in contact with another supplier (on an unrelated matter) and he is having much the same issue and it appears to be totally random as to what cars make it and what don't. Fingers crossed. Things should improve soon I expect. LW.
  16. saff_cossie: using a container is rather different to RoRo which 99 per cent of people (on here) use. LW.
  17. 4 wheel steering. LW.
  18. Maxx: do you mean there literally was a race held between the three? Who conducted the race? Anyone got the video? LW.
  19. Troy, I'm sure your probably right. LW.
  20. From what I understand, CONSULT can give you a little extra information and make it easier to diagnose issues. The whole flashing light sequence thing is difficult to use. In my case I have an issue with HICAS and while I can get it into diagnostic mode, the flashes are bizarre: there is short flashes, a medium flash, and long flashes. For $120, perhaps CONSULT is a better option. LW.
  21. Is there any difference at all between the Nissan CONSULT and the one you have? Does it have exactly the same functions? LW.
  22. Someone on a forum I frequent had a car rejected and were able to appeal to DOTARS (although were ultimately turned down IIRC). As I said, it seems to be entirely at the discretion of DOTARS and not a situation you want to be in. LW.
  23. I generally do not like 4-door skylines. I think the Impul R33r looks good, but by far the best I have seen is Numoken's ER34. Does anyone have decent pictures of it? LW.
  24. Hi Al, Yeah, I did that before I posted. Just wanted to let you know in case they contacted you if there was a problem or other. Got an email back from Steve (top bloke) saying they should be delivered by mid next week Thanks for organising the g/b! Indeed it does, but unsprung weight has a far greater impact gram-for-gram than standard weight. When you can knock 5+ kilos off each wheel thats a significant saving in my books. LW.
