Hi Guys, Just a reminder that the cutoff for confirming is today @ 10PM AEST -- that's in about 7 hours. Please contact me by then otherwise you will miss out. I will be out of contact from about 5:30-8:00PM tonight. I will respond to PMs/emails/posts after that, or if you need to contact me directly, you can leave a message on my voicemail and I will return your call when I get back. A couple of people have contacted me to confirm today: I will be updating the confirmed list tonight when I get home. Cheers, Lucien. -

Anyone interested in a Sydney Group Buy on Window Tinting ?
lwells replied to B-Man's topic in New South Wales
raz0r$harP: I would definately be interested in a group buy, but only if people don't fart about like last time. B-Man was put in a very difficult position because people didn't show when they said they would.... LW. -
PowerFC ECUs w/ Hand Controllers (NEW & under $1000!)

Take the screenshot as proof of purchase. Part of the reason I have been collecting bank details is so payments can be easily identified so you don't need to send the screenshot to me: its just a safety net so you can prove that you have sent the money. I will discuss the best way to confirm payment with Nengun. Either way, take the screenshot Lucien. -
PowerFC ECUs w/ Hand Controllers (NEW & under $1000!)

I have heard back from Brent @ Nengun confirming the additional information I needed, so I can now post up the rest of my original message. Again, this is very important, so read through it carefully. Payment: There was some doubt how the payments would work. I can confirm now that you will pay straight into a Nengun's Australian account. There was the option of me collecting all the funds, but I think some people would have significant issues with trusting a complete stranger. Payment will be expect on Friday 26 November. The absolute cutoff for Nengun to recieve payment (not just make it, but for it to go through) is Wednesday 1 December. This gives people the better part of four full working days for payments to go through. Please try and make your payments as early as possible to minimise delays and so any problems can be worked out ASAP. If you think you will have a problem with these dates, please let me know ASAP so we can work through the issue. Methods of Payment: There will be three main methods of payment from what people have been saying: 1) Over the counter desposits; 2) Internet banking transfers; 3) Paypal. Nengun banks with ANZ. The fastest method of payment is to withdraw funds from your account, visit an ANZ branch, and make the deposit over the counter: such transfers are instantaneous. Make sure you fillout the deposit slip completely -- especially your name -- and get a receipt for the desposit. Netbanking transfers (between banks) usually take 24-48 hours, so keep that in mind and try to put them through on Friday. If you also bank with ANZ, the transfer should go through very quickly (often near instantaneously, but sometimes it can take an hour or two to show up). Take a screenshot of the confirmation of payment. PayPal transfer should be near instantaneous. Payment Details: Payment details -- that is, Nengun's account details and a finalised proce -- will be provided by Nengun after they have recieved orders. I will post the details in the thread as soon as I recieve them. I will also PM everyone with the details, and send emails out. If anyone specifically wants to be contacted by phone with the details, I can do that too as long as their isn't too many people You can, of course, ring me too. I will have Friday off so I will be around and easily contactable. Regardless, the details will be readily available. As the exchange rate is likely to fluctuate slightly between the placing of orders (Friday) and the final day for payment (Wednesday), and Nengun being able to transfer funds to Japan, a very small amount (no more than $1-2) will be added to the price to account for said deviations: for example, if on Friday the final price is $988.00, it might be rounded to $990. I hope nobody objects to that? It means we can keep the payment window open for longer so people don't have to rush around on Friday to pay if they have work commitments. If you honestly feel that's not acceptable, let me know. Miscellaneous, etc: I think that about covers everything. As always, let me know if you have any comments or questions, and thank you all for your interest and support. Cheers, Lucien. -

We may reach that mark. You have to remember that often a couple of people can't pay for various reasons, and others suddenly stop responding to emails/PMs/phonecalls despite having confirmed they want to go ahead. The issue with credit card payments might also (legitimately) mean some people can no longer continue. Lucien. -
PowerFC ECUs w/ Hand Controllers (NEW & under $1000!)
lwells replied to lwells's topic in Group Buys
There is no Stagea-specific PFC. Is your Stagea manual or auto? If its auto, then you will have to look at piggyback ECUs (eg. Greddy emange). If its manual, you can probably just use the corresponding Skyline unit, but its up to you to work out which one that is and confirm with someone who has done it already that it works as I don't want to be held responsible if it doesn't BTW, can people please not quote the whole first post in their replies: it clogs the thread and makes it very confusing. Lucien. -
Only until they find out their 'super-high-ultra-extreme-supreme' priority car got bumped again Ultimately brokers should just tell it like it is: if they don't know, they should just say that. Nobody (that I can see) is blaming them for the situation: its just an unfortunate confluence of factors. LW.
-
No offence, but I don't think it matters what priority J-spec assigns to it. It will ultimately come down to who is trying to get cars on the ship: if someone with a much larger account with shipping company needs the space they will bump smaller customers. Still, I hope for your sake it gets on. LW.

PowerFC ECUs w/ Hand Controllers (NEW & under $1000!)
lwells replied to lwells's topic in Group Buys
Sorry Nobody has said there is any particular problem with the PFC boost controller, but like any design, it can be improved upon. Its not a question of not wanting your business: in fact I am sure he would love your business. However, it makes things very complex if people have different orders: its one thing to have different varieties of the same basic combination (PFC + H/C), its another when a certain percentage then want to include an additional item. So rather than increase the logistics and possible slow down delivery, get items mixed up, and so forth, Brent would prefer to just keep it to PFCs and Hand Controllers. I know that's disappointing, but it makes sense from a logistics point of view. Lucien. -

P1E: There is nothing wrong with it at all, just that it has been out and not updated for quite a long time now. The Blitz 'dual series' and HKS EVC with the stepper motor are considered technically superior solutions and, although I have not personally seen the proof, it is argued hold boost better and more accurately. There are a couple of threads in Forced Induction dealing with this. I know the HKS is quite expensive (HKS brand = HKS price ), but the Blitz products are far more reasonable. I will leave you in the unconfirmed until I get those details. Don't worry, its not that I don't love you Its just I am updating the confirmed list in parallel with a document for Nengun and I want to keep the two in sync. Would be a nice Chrissy present for sure Lucien. -
PowerFC ECUs w/ Hand Controllers (NEW & under $1000!)
lwells replied to lwells's topic in Group Buys
Hi All, I have a really long message typed out with almost all the details but I am waiting on some further confirmation as I don't want to lead people down the wrong path. What I can say is... Credit Cards: Some people expressed a preference to pay by credit card; others said they could only pay by credit card. Unfortunately Brent cannot accept credit cards for this group buy. For those of you who only had a preference, I hope you can still continue; for those who had to pay by credit card, I am truely sorry. There is one further option, which is going to your bank and withdrawing money on your credit card over the counter (I believe this is normally called a 'cash advance'). Obviously its a PITA to have to visit the bank, but its an option. I believe such transactions then just work as if you had purchased something normally with your credit card, but please check that with your bank as there may be additional charges or different interest rates. Brent can, however, accept PayPal transfers (which can be charged directly to your credit card). Such transfers attract a 4% surcharge (basically, PayPal takes 4% of the transfer hence the need to add it back in). Delivery: People are obviously interest to know exactly when they can expect the goods. As I have stated in a couple of posts and PMs, I (personally; since its not me sending the goods) cannot give you an iron-clad date. Factors that will influence delivery dates include: the speed of payment; availability from Nengun's supplier; how quickly the supplier gets the units to Brent, and if there are any delays in postage times due to the Christmas mail load. As I mentioned in the PM I sent out, once Brent gets the orders, he can provide a much more definate idea of when units will arrive. From reading other people's experiences of buying PowerFC's from Nengun, delivery time is usually about 1-3 weeks. Boost Controllers: I had a couple of people ask about boost controllers. I checked with Brent and he does not want to include them as part of this group buy as it will just get extremely difficult to keep track of different payment amounts and who gets what combination of goods. If its any consolation, the PFC boost controller is not fantastic anyway IMHO: there are better products on the market for about the same price. Its only real advantage is integration, and that not that big a benefit anyway. I suggest you search these forums if you are interested in this issue. Futher Price Discounts: Yet other people wanted me to see if there were further discounts to be had; I promised I would ask, and I did. Basically the answer is no: Brent can't cut his margin anymore unless we reach 30 confirmed orders in which case the price falls about $10-15 per unit. Again, this is about a 10% (and greater in some cases) discount on what is already the lowest price point in the market. I honestly don't think Brent is holding back on us. Tuning: Once you have your new PowerFC, you will probably want someone to tune it. For those in NSW, Ruf Performance in Ingleburn have very kindly offered a deal for people in this group buy: they will tune your PFC/car from this groupbuy for $450 (normally $650). This only applies to people in this group buy. If you are interested, contact [email protected] or 9605 3477 (ask for Kristof). Miscellaneous, etc: I will post up the remaining info (which relates mostly to payment) as soon as I get confirmation that its all correct. Cheers, Lucien. -

lwells replied to lwells's topic in Group Buys
Hi Everyone, I have just replied to all the PMs and emails. The list has also been updated: the big news is that we have cracked the 20 confirmed order mark. I am now writing an email to Nengun to clarrify some of the issues raised. I had hoped to do this early today, but my net connection has been very unstable so I have spent most of the morning tinkering with it. Edit: Email to Nengun has been sent. A couple of people have been concerned about security. First off, by providing your banking details you make it easier to identify your payment and issue a refund if need be. Secondly, I (or anyone else) cannot simply withdraw funds from your account with the details you have provided: I (or whoever) would need your PIN and/or to forge your signature to do that. Finally, I fully intend to destroy the list once payments and deliveries have been made: you have my word on that. The following people who have expressed interest should check their PM/email: BLUKIE, BLK R33 GTST, -KK-, Shane and TUF-200. If I have missed you, please contact me. Blitz: check your PM mate. Lucien. -

Okie dokies. THE LIST HAS BEEN UPDATED: PLEASE CHECK YOU ARE CORRECTLY LISTED I had planned to email Nengun again today, but I am extremely tired at its already 11:45pm, so I will do it first thing tomorrow with a clear head. I should hopefully get some information clarrifying payments (Credit Cards, timeframe, etc) and pricing (further discounts, boost controllers, etc). I will obviously keep you all informed. I will also shortly contact the next batch of people who have expressed interest. Edit: Whoopsie, I forgot to mention that I will be closing off confirmation of orders on Thursday 25 November @ 10PM AEST. The reason for the slight change is that it will allow me to have all details done and sent to Nengun by about 11PM on Thursday leaving Friday to sought out payment, etc, rather than having people still confirming then. Shane: I am still waiting for word on credit cards. I will contact Nengun again. SpecS15: good to see that registering finally worked You have been added. rs73: 19 confirmed, plus waiting on a reply from a couple of other (very) likely people. SiVaK: These are the Toyota PFC models available as part of this group buy: bazr33: as paulr33 noted, PFCs do not work with (Nissans) auto gearboxes Your best bet is a Greddy emanage (check the thread in "Forced Induction Performance" -- its pinned at the top).
