  2. Yes, its an excellent price, but we need buyers, not just window shoppers LW.
  3. I emailed to double check this -- seemingly to Brent's annoyance -- and here's his answer: Lucien.

Unfortunately Brent cannot accept credit cards for this group buy. For those of you who only had a preference, I hope you can still continue; for those who had to pay by credit card, I am truely sorry. There is one further option, which is going to your bank and withdrawing money on your credit card over the counter (I believe this is normally called a 'cash advance'). Obviously its a PITA to have to visit the bank, but its an option. I believe such transactions then just work as if you had purchased something normally with your credit card, but please check that with your bank as there may be additional charges or different interest rates. Brent can, however, accept PayPal transfers (which can be charged directly to your credit card). Such transfers attract a 4% surcharge (basically, PayPal takes 4% of the transfer hence the need to add it back in). Payment: There was some doubt how the payments would work. I can confirm now that you will pay straight into a Nengun's Australian account. There was the option of me collecting all the funds, but I think some people would have significant issues with trusting a complete stranger. Payment will be expect on Friday 26 November. The absolute cutoff for Nengun to recieve payment (not just make it, but for it to go through) is Wednesday 1 December. This gives people the better part of four full working days for payments to go through. Please try and make your payments as early as possible to minimise delays and so any problems can be worked out ASAP. If you think you will have a problem with these dates, please let me know ASAP so we can work through the issue. Methods of Payment: There will be three main methods of payment from what people have been saying: 1) Over the counter desposits; 2) Internet banking transfers; 3) Paypal. Nengun banks with ANZ. The fastest method of payment is to withdraw funds from your account, visit an ANZ branch, and make the deposit over the counter: such transfers are instantaneous. Make sure you fillout the deposit slip completely -- especially your name -- and get a receipt for the desposit. Netbanking transfers (between banks) usually take 24-48 hours, so keep that in mind and try to put them through on Friday. If you also bank with ANZ, the transfer should go through very quickly (often near instantaneously, but sometimes it can take an hour or two to show up). Take a screenshot of the confirmation of payment. PayPal transfer should be near instantaneous. Payment Details: Payment details -- that is, Nengun's account details and a finalised proce -- will be provided by Nengun after they have recieved orders: most likely Friday. I will post the details in the thread as soon as I recieve them. I will also PM everyone with the details, and send emails out. If anyone specifically wants to be contacted by phone with the details, I can do that too as long as their isn't too many people You can, of course, ring me too. I will have Friday off so I will be around and easily contactable. Regardless, the details will be readily available. As the exchange rate is likely to fluctuate slightly between the placing of orders (Friday) and the final day for payment (Wednesday), and Nengun being able to transfer funds to Japan, a very small amount (no more than $1-2) will be added to the price to account for said deviations: for example, if on Friday the final price is $988.00, it might be rounded to $990. I hope nobody objects to that? It means we can keep the payment window open for longer so people don't have to rush around on Friday to pay if they have work commitments. If you honestly feel that's not acceptable, let me know. Delivery: People are obviously interest to know exactly when they can expect the goods. As I have stated in a couple of posts and PMs, I (personally; since its not me sending the goods) cannot give you an iron-clad date. Factors that will influence delivery dates include: the speed of payment; availability from Nengun's supplier; how quickly the supplier gets the units to Brent, and if there are any delays in postage times due to the Christmas mail load. As I mentioned in the PM I sent out, once Brent gets the orders, he can provide a much more definate idea of when units will arrive. From reading other people's experiences of buying PowerFC's from Nengun, delivery time is usually about 1-3 weeks. Boost Controllers: I had a couple of people ask about boost controllers. I checked with Brent and he does not want to include them as part of this group buy as it will just get extremely difficult to keep track of different payment amounts and who gets what combination of goods. If its any consolation, the PFC boost controller is not fantastic anyway IMHO: there are better products on the market for about the same price. Its only real advantage is integration, and that not that big a benefit anyway. I suggest you search these forums if you are interested in this issue. Futher Price Discounts: Yet other people wanted me to see if there were further discounts to be had; I promised I would ask, and I did. Basically the answer is no: Brent can't cut his margin anymore unless we reach 30 confirmed orders in which case the price falls about $10-15 per unit. Again, this is about a 10% (and greater in some cases) discount on what is already the lowest price point in the market. I honestly don't think Brent is holding back on us. Tuning: Once you have your new PowerFC, you will probably want someone to tune it. For those in NSW, Ruf Performance in Ingleburn have very kindly offered a deal for people in this group buy: they will tune your PFC/car from this groupbuy for $450 (normally $650). This only applies to people in this group buy. If you are interested, contact [email protected] or 9605 3477 (ask for Kristof). ----------------------------------------------------------------- Original message has been removed due to post size limitations.
  5. Others to consider include the JIC Magic and Apexi Supercat series, but both are pricey+ LW.
  6. Hi Guys, The aircon in my car will need to be regassed shortly. Is anyone aware of an easy way to tell if the car is currently using R12 (and thus will need converting) or R134a (and thus will just need a plain 'ol regassing)? Assuming its still running R12: is it possible to do the conversion yourself, or is it strictly a pro jobbie? Cheers, Lucien.
  7. Hi Christian, I tried the '+' operator just before I bumped the thread, and that doesn't do the trick either: they are still treated as seperate keywords (ie. as if it was an 'OR' situation)...? Weird. Makes search practically useless IMHO LW.
  8. Tempting... tempting.. always wanted one I take it Alberts Car Stereo is a local business? Comes with Australian warranty, etc? LW.
  9. Basically it can be modded off its tits but a responsible engineer will check that it doesn't contravene any of the ADRs: this includes things such as noise, emissions, etc, etc. LW.
  10. Heh. I can just see people re-submitting over and over LW.
  11. What brand and model is the boss kit? Which cars does it suit (after one for an R32 GT-R)? LW.
  12. Is there a way to have replys moderated before they show up? LW.
  13. Personally I think its a necessary evil: potential customers should be allowed to ask reasonable questions regarding goods available from sellers. Obviously some people are going to abuse that power, but I think its probably easier for moderators to just issue a warning for those particular cases rather than forcing everyone to suffer the consequences of the actions of a few. Not that its any excuse, but I think most retailers have fairly thick skins anyway PS. Anyone want to do a group buy on PFCs? I need one too LW.
  14. So am I right in thinking its closing on Friday 19th? Have to check my bank account later this week LW.
  15. My dad lives in Wollongong and so I regularly venture down there. Funnily enough, I hardly see any Skylines but, then again, I don't usually spend time down near the lighthouse or North beach. My car is currently in my father's keep so keep an eye out for an old man behind the wheel of a gunmental grey R32 GT-R LW.
  16. In terms of online stuff, there is: http://parts.auto-g.jp/ . There is another online site, but I can't remember it. Anyone know? They sponsor some dori-dori AE86 (yes, very specific, I know)? Edit: I found it http://www.upgarage.com/ LW.
  17. Surely if the delay is the result of a car being bumped off a ship -- ie. the shipping lines fault -- then its up to them to cover the cost? LW.

    Gym rules

Reminds me of when I stayed in a Holiday Inn in Japan a couple of years ago. They had a little info card with the rules that included "no smorging in bed" and proudly proclaimed there were "ice breaking machines" on every level. Still makes me chuckle LW.
  19. Think of it this way: if you cars are delay until Jan 1, then you get charged 5% less import duties LW.
  20. That depends entirely on the logic that controls the triptronic function. If it holds gears so you can bounce off the rev limiter, only down shifts if your about to stall, matches revs and blips the throttle, and changes quickly, then yes they can pretty much be driven how you want. However, most don't do all (or any) of those things and seeing as the R34 GT-T implementation is old (by tiptronic standards) I doubt its terribly advanced. LW.
  21. Sweet. Can you let us all know if they have them, and how much? Lucien.
  22. If its anything like Australia, the wharf will be sealed off to the public (ie. be a secure area)? LW.
  23. No Kidd posted a picture of the duraluminium nuts. LW.
  24. Sure, its partly rice, but its not like sticking a huge wing on your car. You get some (small) unsprung weight savings, a hexagonal pattern which offers a little extra security (though vice grips will no doubt still work), and they tend to match the Volk wheels in colour/design. LW.
