To quote some marketing blurb: They should be about $150 a set (they go for ~Y9000 on Yahoo JP). LW.

Like their wheels, they are super-light. They also come in three fruity flavours. Stamford Tyres is apparently the official distributor for Volk (they are someone in Sydney) and they should have or be able to get them. If anyone calls to get a price, can you post it because I want to get some shortly. Lucien.

Its quite common, in Australia, for all log books and instruction manuals to be removed from cars on lots: stops people stealing them (and associated things like security codes for radios, etc). LW.

Anyone seen the Top Secret AE86 in Vic?
lwells replied to The Jake's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Is it actually a Top Secret factory (or even customer) car, or just someone who has stuck huge stickers on to their car (because it adds at least 50kw)? LW. -
Help: Dipstick blows out of engine RB26DETT !!
lwells replied to xfixiate's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Not sure if this would be any help: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=34059 and http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=11974 LW. -
Thanks Rezz: your a champ (who now has PM) LW.

January? Bummer. I know there is a ship scheduled to leave on the 20th Nov bound for Sydney (no idea if it stops in QLD first)... if you want it earlier maybe get it on that ship and get it transported up to QLD? Apparently its very busy at the wharfs at the moment (cars being bumped off shipping schedules, etc). Fingers crossed with the log books. Mine never arrived LW.

Congradulations. Your car would compete with mine for stockness (though, naturally, mine would win on account of not having cup holders or fog lights) How long will it be stored for before it reaches Australia? Reason I ask is mine waited about 4 months in Japan and became a mould breeding ground, so expect to spend some quality time with your vacuum cleaner Take my advice and ask for your log books to be sent to you now via mail. Lucien.

It might be in the back of my manual: if someone wouldn't mind giving TAX a call we might find out
-
Hehehe. Its not really the manual I want, its the service records. LW.

They don't suit a GT-R: stick' em on an AE86 and they look great LW.
-
No LW.

Well, that assumes that they will actually get to me. I have this feeling though will go missing in transit but, oh well, we will see. They are actually dark grey don't forget, not straight black likes Rezz's. LW.
-
I realise its a long shot, but if someone is willing to call or email them (I will of course reimburse any costs) I would be most appreciative. Worse comes to worse I am left in the same position: no logbooks LW.
-
Actually, since you mention is, they are being loaded into a car for transport on wednesday: car leaves bound for Syney on saturday so all being well I should have them in three weeks. But things ever goes according to plan when it comes to the import game LW.

It is on the road...... And I still want the log books LW.

Hi Guys, I have a rather odd request, and I was hoping someone in Japan might find it in them to give me a hand But first, the story. Once upon a time...... ...... I bought a Skyline R32 GT-R from Japan. As some of you may know, it recently arrived. Anyway, apart from being a Grade 4 car it also had (notice the tense) log books. However, when I went to pickup the car there were no log books. I have spoken directly to the supplier who purchased the car at auction and he said that a) he doesn't have them and B) its not at all uncommon for this to happen as the onus is on the seller to send them on, and they often don't. Anyway, as luck would have it there was a vanity plate in my car from a car dealer. Putting two and two together I assume this is the company the sold the car through the auction system. It turns out they are called "Total Automobile Excellent" or "TAX" -- http://www.tax.co.jp/ Anyway, I was wondering if one of the Japanese breatheren would take pity on me and perhaps contact TAX on my behalf and enquire if they still have the log books in there possesion? Thanks guys. Lucien. PS. Before anyone jumps up and down and assumes this was some huge conspiracy to hide the true odo readings, the mechanic that complied the car said it was one of the straightest examples he had seen and in his opinion the kilometeres were genuine. My interest is really for provinence reasons more than doubting the odo reading.

Attention all you Computer Experts!!
lwells replied to N/A®'s topic in General Automotive Discussion
My experience is that Toshiba (particularly there better stuff, ie. Tecra range) make good laptops, and Apple makes great laptops Sure they are more expensive, but don't forget if you go to a qualifying educational institution you get a nice big educational discount which makes them more reasonable. Only experience with Dell was bad. I have heard Sony is flashy, expensive, and has crappy support and proprietry firmware that's a PITA (stops you upgrading OS, etc). LW. -
Any room in the suitcase for, say, a human? LW.

I reakon red with black wheels looks great: I am most envious Personally I would avoid the Bayside Blue/Nismo LM Blue as I associate those colours with the R34, so they look a little out of place on a R32 GT-R Personally I would go for a dark shade of purple with white wheels LW.
-
Its a little hard to make out, but those are Nismo LM GTMAG's I believe. They are made under license by Rays/Volk, and are basically a TE-37 varient with one less spoke and a slightly different design around the wheel nut area. http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/cgi-bin/cgi2/g...model=020_GTMAG LW.

fuel efficiency with an aftermarket computer
lwells replied to fresh's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
There are numerous revisions of the PFC. This is standard practice for electronics. Basically they tinker with the design to make it cheaper to produce and correct any problems (if problems exist). You have to be a little careful with PFC revisions if you want to use the hand controller, as only certain hand controllers are compatible with certain models/revisions of PFC. As for actual models, there are three main ones: PowerFC (normal, standard version), PowerFC Pro (incorperates RPM ignition cut & RPM limiter) and PowerFC D-Jetro (a version of the PFC for use with MAP sensors). There is also a range of A.P. Engineering Power FC SPL's, but I know very little about them except that they are supposedly specially adapted PFCs for cars that aren't normally supported (inc RB20DET I believe). LW. -
Ronin 09: nicely done. I too have been thinking about doing something similar but two things occur to me (beyond the legal issues raised by coco69): 1) Is the top of the side vent showing above the plate, or is it just a reflection? I would try and make the braket so that only the bottom of the vent showed (dunno why, just think it would look better ). 2) What about oil coolers? Usually they are tucked in behind the side vents. Do they normally go on the passenger or driver side? LW.

justinfox: well, they aren't really a dish style wheel, but there are plenty of similar designs (copies, on might suggest) that incorporate a dish if that's what your after Personally I don't mind the lack of dish because I like the styling of the TE-37s. Offset will effect the slanting, but AFAIK they all have some inwards slant. LW.
