  1. Got a pic of the JTGC car? Probably standard TE-37s. LW.
  2. Is it a standard GT-R FMIC, or is an aftermarket designed for a GT-R? LW.
  3. Informer: The original (and still the best IMHO) TE-37 has the slanted spokes. There are a couple of other versions: the flat spoked version is the TE-37M; there is a TE-37 gravel that is also quite flat; TE-37 Cup which has inverse slant, and TE-37 K which is sort of a dished version of the 37M. See: http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/cgi-bin/cgi2/g....cgi?maker=VOLK LW.
  4. Ronin: Your right. They are +12. Its been so long since I bought them I had forgotten Edit: To cut a long story short, I payed to have them afixed to my GT-R, but the place didn't do that, so car is here (with original GT-R wheels on ) and wheels are still in Japan. Hoping to get them brought across in another vehicle, but waiting for the place to get their act together. LW.
  5. I would wait till you get it back to Australia. The wharfies are not all that careful when moving cars in Australia (don't know about Japan), and it would be nasty to spend all that money and then have to get the car touched up once back in Australia. LW.
  6. justinfox: yeah, they look great, you just need the hubble telescope to see them from Australia Hoping I can get them here (without being pinched by some arsehole in the next month). Its apparently a special order colour that Ray's offers (another one is Mercury Silver, but those a *freakin* expensive to get, even by TE-37 standards). Yeah, they will be going on my (Gunmental) R32 GT-R. They are 18x9.5 (which apparently fits without rolling), and I think the offset is +35 off the top of my head but I can check if you like? Should look a little something like this (though the wheels are a bit darker IMHO): LW.
  7. That's actually dark blue you linked. 18" TE37s in black/dark grey looks like this: I should know: those are my wheels in that picture. Hopefully they will show up some day (currently still in Japan). LW.
  8. Is it just me, or is the search system in vB a little screwed. How do I go about searching for threads or posts that only include A and B, not just A or B? Once upon a time using the expression "a AND b" (minus the quotation marks) would have worked, but currently vB seems to just see those as seperate keywords, as if I had searched for "a b". To give you some context, lets say I want to search for threads or posts that only contain "HKS" and "exhaust". If I put in "hks AND exhaust" as the query, it gives me any thread or post that contains either HKS or exhaust (or both), but not just threads/posts that contain HKS and exhaust. Anyone able to help...? LW.
  9. That is like a zillion percent better. It almost makes the new classifieds decent Only suggestion I would make is incorporating the trader ratings. LW.
  10. Yeah, but the real issue is when do the docks, customs & AQIS, and steam cleaning facilities close? Would be worth checking IMHO: better to have a car sitting in Japan than at Hobbs LW.
  11. Its still a lardy family car underneath. Now that's not necessarily the criticism it may sound, but at the end of the day I think trying to compare it to a WRX (which FPV apparently sees as its competition) is a bit of a laugh: yes, its straight line speed is good, but how does it go around a track compared to the lighter, 4WD, and probably more nimble WRX/STi? FPV has made no 0-100 claims, and AFAIK have backed away from questions comparing its outright speed to the GT/GT-P. Oh, and a lot of people CBF'ed modifying their cars and voiding their factory warranties. Plus I bet a factory Typhoon will have better resale than an equivalent APS up-speced XR6-T. LW.
  12. What was the "largest optional wheel" recommended by Nissan for the R32 GT-R? Obviously it came with 16x8s, but the wording seems rather dubious to me as it suggests it is based on what Nissan recommended as the largest size (ie. on the tyre placard)? Lucien.
  13. I would add a sump baffle and lightened flywheel as well as oil cooler. LW.
  14. If you spot ASA-79Q -- a gunmental grey R32 GT-R -- on Saturday somewhere between Sydney and Wollongong with an old guy behind the wheel, give my dad a wave It will be the cars first outing (legally, anyway). LW.
  15. Any name brand Japanese brand is going to be expensive. I didn't mean to suggest it was expensive in relation to other brands, just that compared to your average ho-hum CAT its a big premium. Edit: Takakaira has prices on the Apexi's: ~US$600. LW.
  16. Whatcha doing down UNSW way? I might have to keep an eye out for your car LW.
  17. If some of the suspension geometry was out, what are the chances of uneven wear on the tires contributing to the pulling effect? LW.
  18. That's a weight-saving feature. LW.
  19. There is a long thread about the relative merits of Motul, Mobil1 and Castrol in the maintenance forum. Worth a read. LW.
  20. Judging by the Commondore in the background, and the bloke in the orange cap sticking his head under the rear, my guess is a local purchase :thankyou: LW.
  21. PranK: email notifications regarding posts in the new classified section are coming from you (ie. [email protected]) rather than [email protected]. Come to think of it, so do posts in the photo album section.... Lucien.
  22. We might also have to have a Steve-SST section, just to keep the cross-border tensions down LW.
  23. Gonad Man: I imagine its because the tyres I wanted were wider, and that was just a price over the phone pre-bargaining. LW.
  24. Not quite. My dad is doing all the running around today (he has the week off; I have Uni essays to write ) and hopefully it will be registered later today. Edit: It will still be at Nathan's till Saturday morning when my dad is able to pick it up LW.
  25. Very interesting: shame the Apexi and Magic aren't directly comparable (ie. same size). Both seem to flow about 45-46% of the straight-through volume. What is the price on the Apexi's? $600 seems rather a lot for a damn cat LW.
