  6. I get it changed every 5 thousand. Its not burning oil or blowing excessive smoke. Doesnt go through coolant either Does however not seem to peak as much boost. Originally tuned for around 13psi. Now under load (and even on the cooler nights recently) only seems to reach just on 11psi. Occasionally the idle drops off slightly from around 700 to 500 revs and has stalled once or twice coming to a real quick stop at the lights. Ive never had the 02 replaced.
  7. Well i drove from ryde to the city. Dropped it off at around 9:30 and got the results around 12:30. So i guess unlikely to be cold.
  8. Good to hear i guess. Was only aiming for 250rwkw give or take and decent response. Its being retested with another dial. If its still the same, taking it elsewhere for one last crack regardless. Cheers for your response.
  9. Just had compression test done Results came back rubbish Between 111-114 across all six. Mechanic said he is going to use another dial just to be certain, as the wear is very even. f**king disappointing, Question : Wouldnt rubbish figures like that be showing serious deteriorating performance signs??? I had this done out of curiosity as i was just about to upgrade turbo. Still performs like it always has. Really well. Has a 125k on the clock

  13. Thanks for the replies. Ill take a look at the exhaust/ shields etc. Spewing if its the gearbox. I thought they were tough! Bought it with 55k and it was like brand new. I dont thrash it either. ah well. Cheers Matt
  14. Ran some tests Doesnt do it at all in neutral. Doesnt really do it in 4th. Standard kind of labouring feel. To be honest second is the worst. Especially with someone in the car. the more throttle the louder it is too. Tested that theory
  15. Obviously doesnt get up and go until over 2000rpm with any urgency anyhow. Its kind of a rubbing grinding kind of sound with the usually 'i dont like these low revs labouring feel'. Dont need to have it much throttle at all. noise appears just as it passes those revs. Only time i personally notice it is when i take off from first, or when the missus takes a corner in high gear.... When i drive it never sees those revs unless in first, taking off. Has an Exedy Heavy Duty Makes the noise in any gear id say at those revs (although havent actually tested it). Definitely 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
  16. Hi, 1996 R33 GTS25T S2 Car seems to make a pretty heavy 'labouring' sound at around 1700revs. Almost sounds mechanical in noise though coming from gearbox region possibly. I know this is pretty vague but im curious if this is something common perhaps anyone is aware of. I also have a feeling synchros are the on the way out. Pretty notchy. Clutch in rolling i can always find a point of crunch if i play around slowly. Gearbox has redline shockproof oil. Any ideas would be handy before i hand the car over to a mechanic.... or trade it.   17. Having VCT re - enabled require (extensive) retune? Ive got a the r32 ecu nistune. Also have a Eboost Street. If theres benefits to have i want em. Does seem to really lift after 4.5k

  20. Anything simple i could check before i hand to mechanic..... Car has developed the following 1. Difficult to start first thing in morning. Now requires a fair prod of the gas to get it started 2. Pulling up at lights (especially when hard on the brakes) revs drop considerably. Now starting to occasionally stall Had a compression test done. Never got the actual figures, but did see a reading considerably lower than the others at a glance.... No changes to tune. Everything was fine until recently. Seems to be getting worse. Stock BOV NISTUNE R32 ECU EBC FMIC Z32

  24. to be honest didnt realise it would vary that much but your right i cant feel any difference...
