Hi, With say 1/4 throttle etc (or even less) basically under normal driving conditions ive noticed the car surges up the revs instead of a steady smooth increase. annoying. Seems ok when i lay the boot in however... but its not that often i do and its harder to really tell on the street. Any ideas what could really be causing this?? Ive been told wastegate issue? (ie spend more cash please first). Due to limited knowledge on the subject (basically f**k all), wouldnt this only be whilst in positive boost?? Didnt do it before i had z32 AFM and fuel pump installed and retuned.... Last attempt to sort this car out. About to cut my losses, f**k it off even though i still really like it and its in great condition, and buy a new f6. Or maybe a 135i. Something that runs 13's out of the box and not have it played with.... Skyline ran flawlessly when it was stock. Stock Turbo 13psi makes about 210rwkw FMIC 3inch z32 Ecu z32 AFM EBC SPLITFIRE COILS NEW SPARK PLUGS Cheers, Matt

Thanks for all the input lads. Successful effort today took me an hour or so. Spot on there nismoid. Bloody good feeling sorting this out myself. completely sorted out the stutter... Rocker gaskets and brake pads next haha ) got some searching the forum to do tonight. I've had a z32 ecu and nistune installed, I'm interested in acquiring the software if possible, hoping to learn a bit about the tuning process. I'm not 100% happy and believe a better result could be had ironing out the tune in normal driving conditions. Early days but it would interesting to have someone drive around and atleast be able to view what's happening with the maps in a live state?? Anyhow, thanks again for the replys gents

Searching around but has been unsuccessful. In fact ive searched via google etc also elsewhere but no luck. Any threads someone could point out for a guide to changing coilpacks? Thought id give this a go, its annoying having to pay through the nose for what so many have suggested is a fairly simple job. Unfortunately my knowledge is limited.... clearly. Any help or point in the right direction would be appreciated. Cheers, Matt

Quick question. I clearly have coil pack failure when running the higher boost setting (12psi) In the interim ive been running the lower setting which reduces the stutter considerably. Unfortunately due to work commitments ive been unable to surrender the car for repairs. Question is, other than the stutter, could this cause anything more serious? and should i be realistically dropping everything and having it sorted right away?

Upgrade Fuel pump and Z32 Airflow now has 207rwkw on a touch over 12 psi! same dyno. now im happy -

I have this. Works ok. My car has a stutter on off throttle due to differences in the TPS setup of a z32. I find it a bit annoying at times. -

nah ive actually never washed it. Ill pull them anyway and see if there is anything obvious. Id say the sparks are prob still the stockers from factory.

Yeah since ive added to EBC and Nistune. I rarely ever load it up like that so ive never noticed it too much before. Actually noticed it as a passenger for the first time. Yes it has different tps being a z32 ecu and this causes a stutter on/off throttle.... Its hard to describe the fault without driving it. Ill replace sparks and coilpacks and see what happens. getting turbo highflowed soon so ill probably need to do that anyhow... Cheers.

Lads, Car bogs down from relatively low revs on WOT when coming on boost. Between 2-3500 revs. Its not really stuttering or surging, and not always. Just a dip/flat spot in power. I havent replaced sparks or coilpacks. From reading threads coilpack failure seems to occur higher in the revs with a prominent stutter?? Mods. FMIC return flow JJR z32 NISTUNE K&N FILTER 3inch exhaust 12psi 187rwkw

230rwkw with a relatively stock response is more attractive to me than 250-260rwkw at 4rpm. What does that cost? and what else will i realistically need for install. Ive got a JJR split front/dump will i need to change this? I hear they are not exactly a direct bolt on? Its a 1996 R33 Gts25t s2.

but is your response the same? near the 4000rpm mark? i got a stock turbo running 12psi full boost below 3 (but only 190rwkw). Id like to keep it as punchy as possible down low... GCG any better as far as response you think? -

seems you have done a few hypergear turbos. Been reading about them here i consistently hear that cheap turbo upgrades should be avoided, and its virtually half the price of a GCG (i think). you install them. Work with them. i got 185rwkw bit under 12 psi stock turbo with the usual support mods. Wouldnt mind a solid 220 or whatever it can (40rwkw gain should be noticeable which is my only requirement - a kick in the pants) Highflow is as far as ill take the modifications with this car (r33 gtst s2). Had any fail? install a headache? (ill be paying someone to do it all ie labour blow outs...) Do you rate in your opinion as worthwhile ignoring the fact they are considerably cheaping than other options available. Seen many fail? ill spew if i went the cheap option only to have to do it again in 6 months.... Any comments from someone in the trade is appreciated. Im not after massive kw's just something that is up to to task without pushing it to its limits ( as i am now with the stock turbo). Cheers.

ive got r33 s2 with z32 ecu. Verdict is much the same. Idle is all over the shot with an initial stutter. also brings up engine light when a/c on... If id known id have these ill side effects i probably wouldnt have bothered and got a pfc maybe or stuck with the remap.... Nistune with z32 is disappointment. -

My r33 s2 has had the z32 ecu installed. Since then it has a stutter off idle. Say when you on/off stab the throttle for instance when downshifting or taking off etc. I asked the tuner about this and was informed it has something to do with how the z32 tps functions??? Have you come across anything like this????? ... its doing my head in, just quietly.
