  1. sorry mate i wasnt clear. Ive left this in the hands of tuners with whom i closely watched the process. Cars now got z32 ecu NISTUNE etc etc. The end result wasnt exactly what id expected. 200 rwkw on 14+ psi no ping on a 30 deg (with fmic, exhaust, filter etc) day with timing retarded. Apparently barely even standard. Id had that figure running 12psi, and generally much more responsive too, but under full load yeah it was pinging. Ive seen others do much better. its disappointing.. There must be an actual reason why without fobbing it off saying 'its a dead motor'... Coils and spark maybe. Made 160kw with no mods at all which was pretty healthy....

So coilpacks that may not necessarily be causing any major stutters or missing, could still contribute significantly to detonation???? my 33 hates any increase in timing (pings its head of with minimal boost on stock turbo). Pulled timing back and ran 15 psi down it and no ping.... Doesnt miss or run lean though.... its got me f**ked...
  3. nah not that one exactly:) trying to get an idea of what budget ill require. i dont see myself spending 3-5k on a turbo (plus everything else), so i dont see the point buying a shit hot clutch capable of 300kw+... nothing gives output ratings so its a bit of a mystery what ill need. stock clutch is struggling with the 200kw i got now.. whatever can cop up to 250rwkw without slipping should suffice.

  5. Highflowing turbo shortly, unsure which way at this stage. Either the Hypergear or GCG.   6. ive had car nistuned with z32 computer in my r33. Its good. Except developed a hiccup on idle. initial on and off throttle. Apparently something to do with tps...

  8. yeah got immobilser/alarm for insurance purposes. My mates an auto electrician and when i was having problems with the immobiliser not disarming he had it going in like 2 minutes.... you would get one for insurance purposes definately, but it seems anyone with simple know how can get past it regardless...
  9. what are the stock injectors good for usually? Gave her a bootfull a couple of times on the way home. EBC shows peak of 14.7! dyno showed this spike, and then drop off to around 13 which it holds. Pretty much wheelspin from 5k in 1st. But 3 attempts at that and the clutch feels pretty soft...

  13. Hey, Recently had the car nistuned. Z32 Computer etc. Car is now running 200Kw atw safely with no ping and good afrs. Required around 14+ psi on stock turbo. Yes im aware of the risks involved. In the past with a remap it ran the same with 12psi but developed some pretty bad detonation. Too much timing apparently and this had to be retarded considerably to achieve similar output without ping (is was being tuned on a hot day too, bout 30 degrees +) But the boost required to achieve 200 ATW seemed a bit excessive considering what others have posted...This engine seems to really dislike advancing the timing... Ill be highflowing the standard turbo very soon the question is..... running the SAME pressure (say 14 to 15psi) with a highflowed turbo as opposed to the stocker, should i be expecting any sort Kw gain?? or it simply just assuring no turbine failure? Looking for 250Kw ultimately. and i cant see how an extra 3 or 4 psi is gonna achieve that r33 Gtst Series 2 85k on the clock.   14. aahhh try again with the below punctuation.. top effort. Down shift doesnt seem as bad but not much difference to be honest. Does the same thing coasting along, clutch in, between 3 and 4th. Doesnt seem to matter what gear. I can find a spot where it grinds....

I can find a spot where it grinds. Clutch take up point is around the middle to upper end. If the car is rolling say at walking pace (or even less), it doesnt like being given first gear as easily. Anyhow, ive got around 200kw atw now so im more than likely pushing the boundaries of the stock clutch. Change that next week. whatever can handle up to 250kw or thereabouts. and do gearbox oils aswell with something decent. f**king expensive to reco a gearbox $1500 bucks!!! oh well we'll see i guess Cheers for the response.
  16. hey, anyone care to give me a brief idea of what symptoms id expect for worn synchros? when i change mainly from 2nd to 3rd (and sometimes 1 to 2nd) i can feel contact similar to when its attempted without the clutch fully depressed. I can also force this by coasting, clutch fully depressed, and move between say second and third there is a definate point of crunch. Sound like synchros or more like the clutch no disengaging enough? Yeah i got no idea.... wouldnt mind attempting to having a vague idea before i take it to a mechanic and get screwed. Cheers.

  18. im in the same boat. Had the 34SMIC and was running between 10-12psi. Remapped ECU. exactly 200kw ATW. But it developed engine ping issues and suffered during the day mainly, 200kw with that intercooler seems the absolute max it could handle... Finally pissed of the r34SMIC and got JJR Return flow front mount. Fixed the ping entirely. The car obviously needed it. Seems to have sorted a few issues.
  19. Is there any fundamental reason im missing that would be causing the engine to ping???? i have basic knowledge only. ECU has been remapped. r34 SMIC. Full exhaust. EBC. AFR 11.6 or thereabouts. Of late the car has developed engine rattle on booth boost settings (10 & 12). Ive since had timing reduced from the CAS whilst i find out whats the cause. On 10psi it produced around 185RWKw on the dyno with apparently no rattle after timing was reduced slightly. Ive since noticed it ping slightly on the street (had a few warmer days) on 10psi. I suspected faulty fuel pump (its standard), but surely if thats the case you would see the mixtures leaning out?? This isnt happening. Any ideas would be appreciated. i just purchased a return flow intercooler (justjap) in a hope this might rectify it somewhat. Im also going to grab a Bosch 040 just to be sure. The plan was to be able to confidently run 12psi achieving around 200RWKw without the engine pinging its fkn brain out. Many others before me have achieved this. This week out of curiosity i filled it with 98 octane PLUS Nulon Octane Booster at 30 bucks a bottle. It seems to have helped but surely this isnt a necessity to run without detonating?? Is there anything obvious to check and/or recommend replacement whilst im having the intercooler and fuel pump installed???
