Silver R33 Gtr Stolen, Wsh 489 - Beware Current Racket!
bonestorm007 replied to bonestorm007's topic in Victoria
No, no alarm. Only drove it on track days and occasionally on the road, and stored it at the back of my place. But still a mistake. I figure if the iphone and my navman knows where I am there must be a tracking device on the market. I have seen them on ebay, but not sure of the effectiveness or quality. -

Really good advice mate, thanks for that. Engine work was done by Racepace (I can guarantee you 110% it wasn't them!). Suspension at Trutrack (definitely not them either) Does seem fishy because it deliberately just looked so bog stock from the outside. Very recently had the exhaust done at Ringwood performance exhaust. Certainly not accusing them, but if anyone else had a similar experience I wouldn't mind hearing about it. Anyone who walked under the car would have seen all the suspension stuff and I'm sure there are plenty of apprentices that come and go. My gut feeling though is that I was followed home some time. Should have bought a tracking device and hidden it somewhere, not only would have got my car back but would have landed some scum bags behind bars as well. -
Silver R33 Gtr Stolen, Wsh 489 - Beware Current Racket!

Thanks for the condolances guys. Really sux. I suspect someone spotted it as a car of interest, then followed me home because the car was at the very back of my property!!! Unusual though as it is completely stock from the outside. Came in the middle of the night, the rest writes itself... Was hoping to work on my Winton lap times this year, but obviously not. Could be in a hundred parts by now -
Thanks mate. Live in Kew. A police officer friend of mine filled me in. Jap imports seem to be being targeted at the moment. He personally filed 2 stolen vehicle reports last night from crown casino car park - another GTR and an Rx7 I think.

Thanks guys. From Kew in Melbourne. But I think I must have been followed home. Be very careful at the moment!!! -
Absolutely devastated. My silver R33 GTR has been stolen from my house! Beware, there is a massive racket on at the moment in Vic. I figure this would be a good place to post, as you guys would know what you are looking at on the road, and would often browse for parts on ebay. I am putting up a fair dinkum $2,000 cash reward for any information that leads to either recovery of a reasonably intact car, OR that leads to a conviction. The car has a few easily recognizable quirks to the trainspotter: R33 series 3 GTR front bar, with the two N1 cut out squares either side of the number plate, but no inserts in these. Series 3 lip in original black. Stock exterior & rims. Fuel cap is dented and doesn’t sit flush. Aircon Removed. Parts that might pop up: Oil cooler, with thermostat Monza, Oil catch / breather can. Recaro fiberglass bucket seat, Bride rails, Monza harness Garrett 2860-9 turbos, with HKS 1 bar actuators Cooling pro intercooler hard pipe kit 3.5 inch exhaust with Varex 3.5 inch oval muffler Older style APEXi power FC with handset that does not light up and has a crack in it Master cylinder brace HICAS lock bar ‘Pinnaple kit’ Urethane Bushes Cusco Upper adjustable camber arms Castor Rods Tein Super Street coilovers, 5kg front, 4kg rear. Whiteline adjustable swaybars braided brake lines Braided clutch line. Removal of brake rotor hats to allow better cooling Ferodo 3000s front & rear race pads. DBA 5000 series slotted rotors (F). DBA 4000 series slotted rotors ® Extreme TSC torque split controller 52mm aluminium radiator. Appreciate any help guys and hope it doesnt happen to anyone else.

Advice On Fuel System For R33 Gtr
bonestorm007 replied to bonestorm007's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Would an intank bosche 040 with new wiring be a reasonable option? Are the Japanese intank options better or easier to install than an 040? -
Advice On Fuel System For R33 Gtr
bonestorm007 replied to bonestorm007's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thats exactly what I wanted to know. As long as the external 044 with surge tank will 1. will flow enough fuel for my application, and 2. not be at risk of leaning out if the 10 year old intank does run into trouble one day. Thanks Jonno. -
Advice On Fuel System For R33 Gtr
bonestorm007 replied to bonestorm007's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Really? Will that set up flow enough fuel with the increased fuel requirements of E85? My current standard intank fuel pump seems in faultless working order, so if I can get away with leaving it and adding a external 044 that would be good. Cheers. -
Advice On Fuel System For R33 Gtr
bonestorm007 replied to bonestorm007's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Cool. So options for these power levels would be: 1. keep intank, and a Bosch 044 external. 2. Walbro 550hp intank pump, and a Bosch 044 external - recommended. Cheers. -
Just planning a fuel system for a R33 GTR. Aiming for enough flow to support 2860-9s with 700cc injectors, a 98 tune, and another with E85. Ideally a set up that would be good for up to 330rwkw and maybe even 350rwkw in the future. I'd assume a bosche intank 040 wouldn't do the job? Im leaning towards a surge tank for piece of mind at the track. Would the standard intank and a bosche external 044 with surge tank cut the mustard? These pumps all ok with E85 fuel? Cheers, Luke.

I'd agree. I think the 15-20odd kg you will save for a cost of $1500 on a 1400-1500kg car is not money well spent. If you took 20kg out of a 700kg S1 lotus elise that might be a different story. If its a GTR forget it, the bonnet is aluminium anyway and you are paying a fortune to save a few kg. The boot, spoiler and all hinges weigh a bit though.

Hi mate. I would decide if it is going to be a predominantly street car, or track and street car. I have a 33 GTR. Initially stock. Put exhaust, filters, removed boost restrictor - was good for 240RWKW. It was awesome for the street, and in my opinion perfect for a daily driver. Lightning response, pleasure to drive every day. On the track though, boost came on super early, but like a light switch, meaning it would get messy if you nailed it coming out of a corner (Im sure this could have been corrected with a power FC and good tune). Then added 2860-9 turbos, power FC, oil cooler, and cam gears for an easy 280RWKW on a Racepace safe tune. In comparison, it actually feels a little slower on the street. And I emphasise feels. Only because it requires more road to wind up the turbos which are slightly less responsive. On the track it is way way better, boost comes on early but progressively for great control out of corners, with a fat and elastic mid range. Wouldn't push a 32 too much more that this sort of tune unless you budget for a rebuilt in the future. Cheers, Luke.

Fuel Pump Options For 330-350rwkw Rb26?
bonestorm007 replied to bonestorm007's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Looks like Nismo is the go. Thanks! -
Just wondering what the sensible options are for upgrading the fuel pump to support 330-350rwkw on an RB26? Ideally direct intank replacement. Have 2860-9s, Power FC, cam gears already (278rwkw on 16-17psi with stock AFMs and pump), but have 700cc injectors / Z32 AFMs ready to go. Will probably aim for 300-330rwkw at this stage but will likely do a rebuild at some stage. Would a bosche 040 do it? Cheers.

6 spots left!!! Transferred money. Will fax form on Monday. Cheers, Luke.

Group Buy X-force Varex Mufflers And Hi Flow Cats
bonestorm007 replied to DV5180's topic in Group Buys
Hi, I think these are an awesome idea. I would be interested, as long as there is one at least 3 1/2 inches diameter all the way through. Cheers, Luke. -
Anything over 95 is no good. Best to get your radiator and cooling system checked and flushed out.

The main place you will notice the difference is on the track. Last December at Winton I raced both my r33 GTR non Vspec, and also went in an R34 Vspec. The difference in cornering is quite noticable. On hard cornering, my car tends to lock up the inner rear tyre somewhat, but if you set it up right - slow in fast out - it still hauls ass and slingshots out of the corner. In the R34 Vspec it felt like the guy could throw the car into the corner any which way and as long as he kept his foot on the gas the car would just pull itself straight. The Vspec LSDs adjust touque split not only front to back, but also side to side. You can feel the car putting less torque to the inside rear tyre on hard cornering, pulling the car around at warp speed with what appears to be minimum driver effort. I wish I had bought the Vspec, but I still love driving mine.
