  1. How do i find out if my ecu has been NISTUNED? pull the cover off the ecu n have a look?

Well apparently its illegal to have a boost controller I was just told by some highway patrol police guy, he defected me for having a bov, which is my stupid fault for not changing it back to plumb-back copped a defect of 200 bucks and was sent on my way lol but told me to remove the boost controller! f**k i hate NSW laws!
  3. Hi just need info on boost control. I currently have fitted a turbosmart dual stage boost controller and have no need for it anymore If i take away the controller and just hook up the vacuum/boost line off the turbo and hook it straight to the acutator will it only boost to the level of the spring? IE; 7psi spring only go to 7psi no more? I have a hks 1bar acutator so will it keep boosting past 1bar if i remove the turbosmart controller?

Thanks Rowdy for the info I will have a look at it tonight after i fit my new 2nd hand zaust' gfunkk - i havnt seen the belt since ive owned the car (1 year) so possibly it hasnt been changed lol the car has a blue plate on the firewall showing the engine been replaced in 1998 i think....if its true then the motor is 10+ years old which cant be true right? anyone know of the clutch squeak problem?

Hey peeps just wondering how to get a peek at the condition of the timing belt as mine makes a squeaking noise when the car is at idle and sounds shiiiit Car is R32 GTST RB20DET Also when i put my foot on the clutch pedal it makes a squeaking noise under the car when disengaging the clutch could this be the slave cylinder? or something more sinister lol any help would be appreciated
  7. if ur only drivin ur car to work n it takes 5-10 mins then thats ur problem right there, basically the car is still in warm up mode ie; running rich. n if its already running rich then its worse. I recommend buying a bike n riding to work if possible cause not only will you save money on petrol, the car wont foul the plugs n the cold start wear n tear. n stuff
  8. My car is doing this atm but not as bad a case as yours sounds... Its a hot-side leak i think most probably a gasket between turbo to manifold or turbo to dump or small hole in exhaust dump In mine i found a little hole in the dump pipe which im sure is causing the sound but im going to take the turbo off and check it and make sure its all sealed properly

  11. I have standard 32 suspension too and wondering if its worth it to buy lowerd springs for the standard setup or just save n buy some coilovers? say 300 bucks for some springs or fork out 1000+ for a decent set of coilovers... mm winning lotto would be good

Well went for a drive to Ballina today to look at a car show, I turned the Turbosmart dual stage low setting all the way anti-clockwise. basically it should be the stock setting. car still boosts to 1bar anyway. Does this mean I have a 1bar actutator? i also noticed with the setting as it was it would take ages to build up boost after a 2nd to 3rd change! On the high boost setting i turned it out a few clicks from fully shut, dont have slow boost problem anymore when on high boost setting. Basically should I get rid of the dual stage? I wanted to run 10 psi on the low setting for when the gf takes the car for a drive and 1bar high, but cant get lower than 1bar BUT i did notice when at WOT in 4th gear it would only go to 0.7bar? in second it goes to 1.1bar then back to 1bar and then stays there lol Should i piss off the dual stage and run no boost controller or just buy the turbotech and keep the car running 1bar its soo annoying as i dont want to spend heaps on boost control yet cause i need paint fixed then coil-overs then some nice wheels and then i might leave the car alone for a month if its lucky

When I changed my spark plugs the other day I noticed the spark plug from cylinder 6 had some porclin from around the tip broken off.... not sure when this happened but im guessing it happened when i accidently boosted it to 1.6bar a few weeks earlier.... I was in second and saw the needle go past 1.5 n backed off straight away n i think it detonated which in turn caused the plug to break Im guessing the damage has already been done anyone else have this problem?
  15. Easy, pull the engine out of the car and put in on an engine dyno, then put the engine back in and put the car on a dyno, then you will know what the difference is. IF you have a money tree that is. guestimation is the only way saying that tho no 2 cars are the same UNLESS they are both factory spec, even then there will be differences as nothing is perfect.
  16. Hey peeps I own an r32 gtst i had this missfire problem a year ago and fixed it by putting in new plugs gapping them to .8mm and cleaning the coil packs. My car is missfiring again but only in one cylinder so i put a new set of plugs in gapped them the same cleaned the coil packs again and its still missfiring in one cylinder on fullboost Before i got and buy a set of splitfires im wondering what the resistance values should be? i have a multimeter and have 1 coilpack spare but ive forgotton how to test them. Also the 32 coilpacks are different to r33 ones how do i go about silicon coting the 32 ones? should i cover the whole plastic part and leave the metal surround or cover the entire unit? some of the coating has come off a few of the coilpacks but this seems to only be affecting one cylinder BTW if cylinder 1 was the closest to the front of the car then when i pulled the old plug out it was fairly black, no2 was a little lighter and as i got towards the rear cylinder the plugs looked like normal ones ie. kinda brown. does this mean cylinder 1 has the missfire problem? I can take a photo of the plugs for reference if need be. car is run at 1bar
  17. Cheers guys ive connected pressure source from about 1 foot off turbo but just wondering should i tee in the blow off valve vacuum into this line or just run blow off valve off plenum?
  18. Ok so if i got a turbotech controller would it still matter where i hook up the source port to? Does it make a difference if its located before or after the throttle body? Last night i made the effort to change the lines i hooked up the pressure source to just after the turbo instead of after throttle body (manifold line) will this change get a better reading? my boost guage is also hooked up to the manifold

Its Belkin F5D8635-4 v1 Its a modem/router and i have an N wireless reciever for my xbox Ive searched everywhere and all i can do is open ports in Virtual Servers 80 TCP, 88 TCP, 3074 TCP/UDP and 53 TCP/UDP ive also enabled DMZ for the IP address of the xbox HELP!!!! or can you recommend another Modem/Router that will work with xbox live ?
  22. Hey peeps! Just installing a Turbosmart dual stage boost controller for my R32GTST properly this time. lol I had installed it a few months ago without the wiring hooked up (so basically it was only single stage) now ive put a switch in and connected it properly so solenoid works (now working as dual stage) My question is about the PRESSURE SOURCE PORT, on the instructions it says the pressure source port should be located before the throttle body whereas when i bought the car a year ago the pressure source was from the manifold. Here are TURBOSMARTS instructions I do have the option of running the pressure source just after the turbo but its blocked off. The car does have a problem with boost spiking and im wondering if the location of the pressure source port could be the issue. my car is running 1 bar atm but boost spikes past 1 bar then settles in second gear at WOT 3rd gear just cant get to 1 bar but maybe 0.8 bar. car has HKS2530 with front mount and turbo back 3inch exhaust with 3 inch cat so flow shouldnt be a problem right? Any help would be appreciated
