  1. I run 34 psi in my tyres (235x45x17), I use to run 38psi but I found that the centres of the back tyres were wearing out faster than the sides so I decreased the pressure abit, no problems now, good even tyre wear.
  2. you can use hair dryer or heat gun on low heat to help get the contoured areas done, but I never did.
  3. Yeah, they are the same.
  4. The door handles were on the car when I got it, spose it must be factory on the 4 door, I have never taken any notice before.
  5. No, I didn't buy the carbon dash set I did it myself. It's actually easy to do, but time consuming It cost me about $90 for the 2 rolls of adhesive film, I got the stuff from repco. I just pulled the dash apart, wiped every thing down with alochol and carefully stuck it on. Took me a few hours though, I didn't want to have any air bubbles trapped under the film, and matching up the joins in the contoured areas wasn't as easy as I first thought it would be. I have also continued the theme to the doors.
  6. Just started on mine, just the dash so far
  7. got mine 3 years ago, had 101,00km on the clock. Now has 160,000 on the clock, no major problems as yet. We converted it to manual, but the auto was still going strong (140,000km) when we changed it over.
  8. I think the exchange rate at the moment is about $1NZ = 0.87c AU so you would be looking $43.50 AU. Sorry don't have a clue on what postage would cost. I do have a R33 owners hand book, but it's in Japanese. But it still comes in handy now and then.
  9. try, jpnz have workshop manuals, they also have an online store if you want to order one. have a look here
  10. run it on premium unleaded, 98 octane if you can get it, in Japan they run them on 100+ octane.
  11. This may seem a silly question, but I was hoping, could someone please explain to me the differences between headers and extractors, is there one? thanks in advance
  12. Looks good;) , think I gota do something about my engine bay. Think I will go for a air box with a clear plastic lid, so I can still see the filter.
  13. these are what we have on our car now, ROH Adrenalin (shadow crome)
  14. here's a couple of pic's, Don't know what they are called were on the car when I brought it.
  15. Sorry dude, I've had no luck in finding out what it was off. The ratio of the diff I got was 4:3.1 ratio LSD, but knowing what I know now, I should have got a 4:1.1 ratio LSD, it would have put the speedo readings out a little bit, but the car wouldn't rev quite so high at 100km, and I would have a better top speed, I'm kickin my self now:hellpisd: If you are getting a LSD check what type of flanges (the ones from the diff to the wheels) you have, before you go and get one. I made the mistake of not checking the first time and got the wrong one:Oops:. I have attached a quick sketch, of the diff flanges sort of looked like the first one in my case was the wrong one (can't quite remember if it was 5 or 6 stud), the 2nd was the one that fitted my car. sorry I can't be of more help.
  16. Are you sure about all the R33 GTS25 having vvt? so why the power difference in power between series I (142kw) and series II (147)?
  17. Hi guys, Reading your posts with a bit of intrest, as I live in NZ and I guess I take things for granted, when it comes to jap imports in NZ. The large majority of cars on our roads over here are Jap imports. As recently as april 2002 we could practicaly import any japanese car we wanted, but then the NZ government brought in the new frontal impact laws, which pretty much out lawed many of the high preformance imports, that were manufactured before 1996, from comming into the country. So the likes of all R32 skylines, R33 skyline series 1, evo's 1,2,3, etc... can no longer be imported into NZ:( . Which in turn has pushed the prices up on japanese performance cars, you pay an extra $4000 plus for a post 1996 performance car now days, but slowly the prices are comming down. As for the laws in regards to modifications, up to april this year, anything was pretty much the go, Once again the NZ government and NZ police have made a combined effort to rid the streets of modified high performance japanese imports, quite personaly I think they want to get rid of any thing that they could out run one of there patrol cars (Commodore and Falcons). The new laws knowen as the boy racer bill, has been put in place to stamp out the illegal street racing scene, burn outs, dropping substances on the road etc... (which is fair enough), they have given police huge amounts of power. But they have also made some crazy changes to the law reguarding exhaust noise, which stated a car should be no louder than what it would have been comming out of the factory, this new law caused a public out cry from performance car enthusiasts and is getting reassessed to find a acceptable Db reading. There are also proposed changes in laws, relating to lowering your car, bigger aloy wheels, and even sounds. curently you don't need to get a low level cert unless you increase the power out put of your car by 20% or more, add parts to your car that wouldn't be classed as normal factory replacement (ie; Coil overs), there are other laws as well, just can't remember at the moment. So things sound like they are definitely going to get tougher here, in the near future. Police are already cracking down on owners of japanese preformance cars, for the smallest things, things that the middle aged boy racer in his clubsport can get away with. It will be a sad day for car preformance car enthusists in NZ, if these proposed laws come into effect:(
  18. There is a big difference in the internals of a NA & turbo boxes, NA boxes are much weaker. The gear box from a R33 GTS25T is extremly strong, the R32 turbo boxes aren't that fantastic when it comes to high power aplications either, a mate of mine has stuffed two R32 turbo boxes within 6 months of each other, his car was just under 200rwkw.
  19. Yep, you can fit a LSD to a R33, I fitted one to my R33 GTS25 a couple of months back made. The diff I got didn't come from a skyline, not quite sure what it came off (but it was nissan). Every thing was the same except the mounts at the back of the diff, I just changed the back plate over from my old diff and that fixed the problem. Series 1 R33 don't have vvt, not so sure with the series II, I think they might have vvt.
  20. I'll get one some day, at the moment my wish list is bigger than my income:(
