  1. @mario - holy crap that is a lot of coin!! please dont send your really pretty cars over there to be gang raped. @chaRwie - make a build thread man. happy to answer questions! good to see a new 210 member added to the mix. where are you?
  2. good to see a few lurkers around the place wish we could double that!
  3. hey everyone! noticed a bit of tumbleweed in the classic skylines forum of late. lots of views but no posts lately. not even from regulars. who's around these days? how are your cars going? peace cam
  4. 3 people. 8 hours. a carton of Caronas. this engine looks amazing in this car. and you'd be surprised, we only had to turn the engine mount holes on the datun into slots to get it in. used the rb mounts that were in the silvia. fits perfect! the whole day was shot in high-def time-lapse from multiple angles, simultaneously. footage looks awesome. just give us a few weeks to put everything together as we are trying to make a high quality production out of it. next is wiring....
  5. that looks a little bit more like it.
  6. if you buy from USA or australia or japan you shouldnt have a problem bro. the only time i have been dicked around is when i bought something from Thailand. they did a runner with my cash and i got nothin lol. but i was lucky enough to get my money back through paypal buyer protection. dont buy from the dogey countries and you should be right
  7. i might the hose from the motor not from the radiator. mine is a little stumpy too. well if you can get a flat-top one at the same price and you're happy with it then do that. why pay the extra 800-odd dollars for a custom?? jeesus..
  8. if you cut it off, dont forget you'll be cutting off the flange part too. you'll have to re-weld the flange part on or your hose will slip off... which is a pain in the ass... another something i noticed: the lower pipe on my 210 comes out and goes around the back of the alternator to underneath it before it faces forward. so yea a bit longer than your 2" for some reason.
  9. hey was just doing some work on my 210 and i remembered that photo of the one you want to get. the pipe that comes out of the bottom tank on the alloy one comes out then shoots up on an angle. the standard c210 on just comes straight out and is real short. that might be an issue bud.
  10. oh as a fashion thing! i get ya now. i personally like a flat one. but i own a flat one so im biased lol tell you what man, if you think that radiator is gunna look the beez kneez under your bonnet... then do it! it's your car and you have the creative freedom to do whatever you want with it ill put something in my car that looks cool, as long as it doesnt compromise performance, practicality, or legal infringements (most of the time).
  11. i have no knowledge to compare the slant type to any other sorry. those holes they got might work too (just by looking). email them and see if you can get the drawings for it so you can check against your car.
  12. you'd probably have to get one built. but the plus side is that they'd do all the mounting points for you. first google search: http://www.alloyradiators.com.au/ they reckon they can make them cheaper than stock so have a go.
  13. well what i would do is: get the core measurements from both of them and see if they're roughly the same. cant imagine they'd be too different. i can imagine the alloy one will be thinner. if they arent too different and you really want the alloy one, just get it anyway and make it fit! be prepared to get a bracket made up, or drill new holes, or use zip-ties lol.
  14. ive got a stock one with a thermo fan in mine. works fine and fits well. never overheated ever.
  15. ive been told you have to change the gearbox x-member and change the tailshaft length. i wanna try to have everything done in a few weeks and ill be doing a big how-to on here so stay tuned.
  16. if you put a front-facing plenum on it, it shouldnt foul on the bonnet. ive done some measurements with my conversion and the rb's cam cover (the highest part if you've got a front-facing plenum) actually sits lower than the carby L24 air filter. but only just.
  17. would love to see them! tell him to join the forum and share his cars with us
  18. nah not the v8 convertible fellah. it's the guy who moderates this forum and has done a whole bunch of wonderful things to c210s. and also rb engines so he's gunna be a big help and adviser in this whole thing. ok so the spanners started spinning last weekend. i just got the net back on today so give me some time to get progress pics and a write-up happening. this is going to be documented in vlog style episodes and i will make a youtube channel. a friend of mine suggested the idea and i was thinking of doing it anyway. he's gunna shoot everything. i think he's getting a port folio together so everyone wins. episode 1 will be the last time the old L24 gets fired up and a project outline i guess. ive been purposely delaying pulling the datsun engine out just so i can get that on film. it has such a nice sound and im going to miss it dearly. engine will most likely be for sale in the future to you guys. great engine and i would drive around australia with it without a doubt in my mind. stay tuned peeps! p.s. pretty freaking excited :-)
  19. maybe you can bolt-on the l24 sump bro?
  20. so harvo... you're keeping the car then? p.s.... that 240z is totally fking sick!! Mad Max reprazent!!!
  21. cheers leon. im gunna attempt to put the super-tight R200 LSD from my silvia(the doner car) into it. also s13 coilovers are on the cards for sure. i have called upon the help of V8skylineMAN. he has given me good advice & we are devising some plans. will most likely be a team effort this one. woot!! just gotta get to the new place so i can start this shit!!
  22. get a reply on that quote??
  23. just finished the 7 pages. wow...... what an amazing piece of work! loving the suspension and brakes too holy cow! i like his advice about the wiring. just give it to someone else! that's a great idea. at only $550, it is a bargain compared to a hair transplant really happy you shared this thread thanks blk180 :-)
  24. just joined up to see pics and say gday. only just finished page 1 so far. that car is incredible!! those flares are the exact vision i had for mandie. no shit. i didnt want to go the bolt-on route.
