  1. Cheers Sydneykid, it's all good so what would you reckon would be the best rates for road use, I don't mind a bit of firmness but the way it is now it's going to wreck the rest of the suspension. Maybe 270-300lbs for the front and 170-190lbs for the back? you probably have much better anti-roll set-up than me ( i assume mine is still standard ) so I may need a strong enough spring anyway? am i even making sense???
  2. Thanks GTS500, you think they can be changed though? (I'm a noob to coilovers - never had a set before...)
  3. does anybody esle have this coilover kit? can I change the springs in it for softer springs? it came on the car and it's a bit too hard for the crappy roads out here...
  4. a.k.a. detonation, put simply, knocking is when the airfuel mixture in the cylinder explodes before it's supposed to and if it's bad or left long enough it can put a hole in your pistons. It depends on many factors and so there are many ways to combat it, grade of fuel, charge temperature and most importantly, your timing. There's loads of sites that explain it with diagrams and animations and everything - just do a search in google
  5. What's the story with getting the standard RB20DET turbo recon'd - is it worth while? is there anything anybody can do with them to make them better etc or should i just keep an eye out for an RB25DET turbo? It's just that i can get my hands on a spare RB20 one cheap and was going to just get it recon'd and throw it on when mine goes?
  6. most tyre fitting places will have a balancing machine, that sounds like your problem alright, it definitely needs balancing if you've had it repaired, you may aswell get the two front ones done, that should eliminate the problem. Did anything else get damaged?
  7. are any of the bushes bushings (whatever...) worn? if so, when you think you have the car alligned etc when you go out and drive it, the whole set up just moves about and goes out of kilter.
  8. they're savage looking rims, if I'm buying a new set that's what I'm getting and I'll be getting them from K's - I haven't seen them or anything similar anywhere else.
  9. anybody know what the dimensions of the GTR cooler are?
  10. on previous cars I've gotten them 4 wheel laser alligned and it seemed to sort it out.
  11. it's such a pain in the knackers cos you can't see how bad they are unless you check and you can't just rotate them cos they look real bad on the outside then, and you don't need that if the coppers pull you...
  12. did you get it alligned recently? sounds a bit like it might be toed out too much, with maybe too much pressure?
  13. I thought all R33 GTS-Ts are type Ms? (see last post,http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/fo...=&threadid=1693 )
  14. failed?!?! failed what or how?
  15. If ARE weren't an option, what would anybody recommend for an R32 GTSt? I was looking at the HKS Type S, has anybody got one? are they any use?
  16. I think they all have LSDs (they'd have to...) but the ones in the Type-Ms were different, or there was an option for a different one?
  17. cheers, so it's just the brakes really then?
  18. sorry guys, found an earlier thread that explains most of it... ( http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...=&threadid=1693 ) can anybody tell me if the diff's are different, I know the brakes are too, what about the suspension? It's just I found a sweet GTS-t but it's not a Type M and I'm wondering if I should hold out?
  19. what are the mechanical differences between the GTSt and GTSt Type M? does the normal GTSt have a diff and HICAS?
  20. nice one - much appreciated Rezz...
  21. attached
  22. What you guys think about this one? http://www.geocities.com/edcashell/G4Skyline3.GIF
  23. Thanks guys - sounds like it's got a few bits done alright, how would it be reliabilty wise do you reckon?
  24. I'm thinking of buying this - but I know no Japanese so I don't really understand the mods, and I don't really have the time to get it translated professionally... any help would be greatly appreciated!
