Dasmbo replied to believer's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Never seen this happen twice i would guess parts taken beyond manufactures specks if it were me i would have the next knuckle joint shot peened to try and make it stronger just like you would have your con rods shot peened good luck with it -
R33 GTR RB26DETT air whistle at 250Km/h
Dasmbo replied to Tomak's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Didnt know GTR's came in left hand drive and my 1995 gtst is very quiet with just the turbo whine rear wing bending towards the bootlid at 200 plus kms but my car does have a full complete set of door Boot rubbers installed a few years ago -
Hi i wouldnt wast my time trying to get more boost out of your stock turbo because if the inlet wheel disintergrates into a few hundred peices and exits the manifold into the engine causing lots of internal damage not to mention the shock to your wallet. With something like an Hypergear turbo which are not to expensive you wont have to worry about a stock turbo disintergrating and destroying your engine. I have been using a Hypergear turbo on my setup for the past 10 years with no problems and consistantly makes good power.

Freshly Rebuilt rb25det no compression!!
Dasmbo replied to Driftieboy's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but it sounds like it is going to cost a lot of money even a stuffed motor has a bit of compression. -
Is this rb26 block useable for modest build?
Dasmbo replied to hixzoomy's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
GTSBoy is spot on its only use is a boat anchor any money spent on it would be pure waste cut your losses before you start -

About 3yrs ago the timing belt shedded on my VK holden RB30/25 reason unknown belt replaced no problems since also have a r33 RB25 and never had any problem with it i mostly answere question in which i have had personal problems with VK i have had for 27 years r33 had for 15 years so i have done a lot of kms with them
-
Use a long screw drive or something like on and use it a a stethescope and press it on to several different parts of the front covers to determine where the noise is coming from it does sound like some sort of interference of one of the front covers. What condition is your timing belt in hope its not starting to desintergrate as i dont know what condition your engine is in and how many kms it has done for the engine all of a sudden starting to make this noise i would be removing the top cover and inspecting that space and rotating the engine to inspect the belt because if it breaks you will need deep pockets to fix

viscous diff replacement for R33 gtst
Dasmbo replied to Dasmbo's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hi im here again to try and find some information before i go and spend my hard earned buck purchasing the bits needed to upgrade my single spinning viscus diff to a cusco kaaz nismo centre is there any shops in the south east queensland or north eastern new south wales where i can take my diff and have the parts fitted and setup like preloads set etc as i would also like to replace the pinion bearings and front seal. Does anyone know where i can purchase new pinion bearings and seals so far i cant find anywhere who stocks them or there part numbers. I would be grateful for any information so i can get full throttle and traction again -
This is the mod for vct on a rb30 with rb25 head

do you still have the wolf for the r33

If it were my setup replace 90mm throttle body to 80mm to help your apexi air flow setup on your manifold increase your injector size if your going to be running E85. My setup on my car runs 660cc injectors BP98 Wolf 550 ecu no air flow meter Hyper Gear rtr 43ss2 Turbo 272 Kelford cams Greedy ported manifold with 80mm T/B Lewis stage 3 ported and flowed head and it makes 473hp with 15 pounds boost so im sure with a couple of tweeks you can get similar power i do think you should go the extra mile and get a better ecu as apexi is getting a bit long in the tooth. I hope you get your car up to your expectations

R32GTST - Issues starting - Checked EVERYTHING!
Dasmbo replied to persaudkiefer's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Check all your earths as well -
Just a suggestion i would 800 whp with h beam rods are taking them to about there maximum A beam rods are much stronger and rated to 1000whp which would give you a better safety margin.

Hi it sounds similar to a problem i helped a fellow skyline owner with the machine shop he had used to refreash his cylinder head had mixed a couple of valves up when putting it back together as intake and exhaust valves are different lengths once we changed that all was good but had to remove the head check to see if they are all at the same height inlet and exhaust by the way make sure you get the clearencs correct as your output power will suffer
