  6. I was going to get a Mine's ECU but after reading a whole bunch from different places on the net, I decided against it. An SAFC or E-manage blue or some kind of piggyback ecu would give you a better power curve for not much money (compared to a full standalone unit) but a lot of people don't like them on here. I can understand why too, if you're going to spend (let's say) around $750-$1000 might as well get it right the first time, spend up to $1500 for a PFC + tune. Just giving rough figures of course, for arguement's sake. But if you're going for a budget build a piggyback would be the way I'd say. And as already suggested an RB25 turbo. I remember recently reading about VG or VQ turbo's that are a direct bolt on to RB25's as well, not sure how that would go for you.
  7. Does it try and start but just have really muddy idle around 400-500rpm, where it sounds like it's struggling, and then just shuts off after a few seconds? I blew intercooler piping on the highway, and that's what mine did until I could find the problem. I know you've said you already checked but it could be worth another check if that's the same problem you're having. And if that's NOT what's happening, can you describe what happens when you try and start her up?
  8. Really? Wow, there's so much northside love on SAU... I never had any idea!
  9. Do it...... coke can gasket (in my case, carlton mid can gasket ) I put it in for a week or two then take it out when I get sick of the lag. I'll probably put it back in again soon I'm also considering taking my turbosmart plumb back apart and adding a space saver, just not sure if I can bring myself to do actually pull it apart. It seems kinda hard...
  10. Hi all..... so went camping fri + sat nights. Mates forester GT ran out of fuel out near kenilworth in pitch black at like 9pm fri night and none of us had reception. Took about 2 hours to get that sorted. We ended up sitting on the side of the road with him having a "few" beers while our other mates went and got some fuel hahahahahaha. f**kin scary... we were basically in wolf creek lol

  12. Reattach the switch... not sure what it's for exactly, but that seems like the obvious starting point? New clutch would fix the problem of your current one slipping, yes.

  14. Hey mate, going from memory I think it's more like this, but I could be wrong..... I didn't take much notice last time I had it off Whether it's 90* or 135* I'm not sure, but it's definately in that area
  15. I won't deny it. Morning to you too *tips hat* <3 BEST ALSO BEST, MORE BEST THAN PREVIOUS BEST, SO THEREFORE 'BEST'
  16. Personally I'd try taking the c-clip off the actuator arm at the end where it kind of bolts onto the gate, then see if you can turn the little flap easily enough by hand, it should just be loose as anything. Just to rule anything out at that spot.
