  1. It fits but the s1 didn't have airbags, whereas the s2 did. So the s1 steering wheel won't have the airbag in it. So depending on what your guy knows about skylines..... it may or may not pass roadworthy if you use the s1 wheel.
  2. For some reason the previous owner of my car decided to not use the gromment, but instead feed the boost gauge line between the grommet and the metal. Works fine. Actually, it's a bit easier to do too... I did the same when I installed the light in my pod cover.... ran the power wire between the grommet and metal on the passenger side, seemed to be more room and more give for me to fiddle with.
  3. I had a whistling noise while boosting, sounded like a mosquito... and would increase slightly in pitch as my RPM would increase. Turned out my BOV gasket was put on crappily, so a TINY amount of air would be forced out the small gap when boosting... just unbolted, cleaned the gasket of crap, flipped it up the other way and bolted the BOV back on. Hasn't whistled since.
  4. I don't know much about the wiring that's needed for the avcr, but I also couldn't find my consult. I'm pretty sure my car used to run a power FC before I bought it, so I was freaking out that it had been cut/discarded/whatever... took it to my mechanic after an hour of searching for it and he took about 5 minutes of fiddling around up in the dash, but managed to pull it out. Previous owner had put it right up inside the dash, I think tied it there with something. I can't think of ANY reason to do this.... but anyway yeah, don't be scared of all the crap in there, fight through everything and it might just be in there somewhere!
  5. Hey all... been a while since I poked my head in here so I thought it was time Got a GTR spoiler last weekend... it's teh sexxx. Needs a touch-up *waits for witty comments* but she'll be right Anyone up to anything exciting this weekend?
  6. Yeah I also remember hearing the gtr bonnet doesn't fit without some modification to the guards/other underlying structure.
  7. Get a $30 manual boost controller and install it yourself, or I can install it for you for nothing hahaha.... so damn easy. But yes, I think the $1200 quote is about right for a decent front mount intercooler. Not sure about the front/dump pipes. Turbo timer... if that includes the unit then that's about right too.
  8. GTR spoiler Honestly I just got one second hand and it's probably the best 'mod' that I've done. Best as in = made me the happiest hahahaha. It has 2 extra screws/bolts in the middle, but about 7 seconds with the angle grinder took care of those Little bit of silicone over the ends to make sure no pointy bits damage my boot lid, and she's all apples!
  9. Hahahaha yeah, mine's still doing it, and we're expecting a few days worth of rain here in Brissy... so I'm not even tempted to fiddle with it at the moment, because it's UP at the moment! Don't wanna tempt fate...
  10. $75 is a good price for that gear.
  11. Apexi or K&N panel filter if you want to stay panel. Otherwise a half decent pod filter will suffice, if you go the extra mile and get a cold air box for it too (diy is fun )
  12. I'd probably hit up clark rubber and just get a small sheet of some malliable rubber... cut it to size, roll it over the metal and 'stick' it with something (glue? not sure) Ask the clark rubber people, and explain exactly what it's for.... they won't steer you wrong.
  13. You still have the skirts and rear pod for sale though! hahahaha Thanks for the sale mate.
  14. I used to use the helix in my falcon, great stuff. My mum still uses it in her excel. Neither of those were skylines, mind you.
  15. I'm not sure if this is of any help AT ALL, but I'm having my power window relay click when I press the switch instead of actually activating the circuit (R33 GTST). Another member on here had the same problem and apparently filed the contact points... I GUESS there was some gunk on there, or the metal wasn't very conductive anymore, so by filing it, it exposed a conductive surface again. Might be worth a try? Might not, but hey, who knows I'm going to try it to my relay when I get a chance, and some sandpaper.
  16. I found the power antenna wire going from my head unit -> antenna, and cut it. This means that my antenna does not ever get a signal telling it to 'go up'. Easy enough to re-connect: pull your dash off and get in behind your cd player (see the tutorial section I'm pretty sure) and look for some cut wires Also, I've found www.installdr.com to be insanely useful when talking about connecting wires to a new stereo etc. Has guides for most makes telling you which wire goes where in which harness!
  17. Push down, the window should go down. Push even harder down and it should click, and it will go auto down. Pull back, and the window should go up. Pull even harder up and it should click, and will go auto up.
  18. The link's in my sig
  19. It does sound like your clutch is slipping. If you treat it right it'll probably last you long enough but you will need it soon. When you do get it changed, make sure you get your thrust bearing and scopot bearing changed, easy and cheap to do while the gearbox is out, and will ensure you don't get weird noises anymore.
  20. I have the same issue, and have had since I got the car. Last service I asked for a diff oil change... car still makes the noise though. I'll be changing it myself sometime soon(ish) when I get a chance, just to be sure that it's been changed then.
  21. Hey guys, I've been looking over the tutorial section thread here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3....html&st=20 Now I've taken the door apart and found that I can manually press the contact on the relay and my window will go down, but using the switch won't make it go down. I can hear it clicking, but no go. Someone in that thread mentioned the same problem, and that he filed the contact points... is that really as simple as it sounds? Should I get some sandpaper or similar and file/sand the contact points of the mechanism? It seems pretty fragile so I want to be careful poking around there... has anyone else done this or something similar? Cheers
  22. This is a great, clear tutorial, and I really think you've done a great job here mate. I wish I saw this when I bought my liner, she was leaking very badly from one of those gaskets... and now I know how easy it is. Again, thanks. @Denis, Yeah, you should be careful of those kinds of things. Get some clean towels or some plastic tarp or similar and plug up your intake pipes etc so leaves and dirt don't get in. Be sure that whatever you use is clean and isn't gonna put a heap of crap in there by itself. I always get quite worried about it.
