Our New Dr30. Our Old Prince Skyline Gt
stagefumer11 replied to clubracer's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
Ghostrider!. old mate, how you been ? -
Check your Afm, Might need the resistor slider cleaned, Also check the bypass adjustment on the afm also. Your Water temp Sensor (ecu) might be faulty. Those L Serries ECU's are prone to water damage, And pin corrosion, Unplug the ecu and clean each pin with some sandpaper, put some contact grease on them, Try and do something similar on the loom plugs. See how you go after that

yes l20et uses a high pressure fuel pump. Ecu does control the fuel pump, but actually controlled a Varible controller set under the parcel tray for fuel pump voltage control (noise levels), Isnt the rb25 fuel pump internal ?. Either way if its installed corectly it wont have any problems For fuel pump power find a iginition source and wire in your own relay with a good power feed from the battery. From what i worked out the l20et ecu doesnt have a rollover protection device that kills the fuel pump, so the only benifit it does is a priming cycle on ignition on. So you will not be missing much. ECU feeds power to the injectors directly. I know this might not be much help. This is what i fouind when stripping my harness down, I do have a book that covers 90% of the wiring in Jappa's and AUS R30's that ill have a look to see what i can find for you

oaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Shipping to NZ would be a killer
-
Im happy here, yeah its hard living, But i do enjoy my country. Plus i own a house, lots of pets etc.. Family
-
ok yeah, In NZ import prices are cheaper, Somewhat. Which is our benifit yes. But its more than that isnt it?. Yeah 98 octane is about 15cents above 91octane. We produce %40 of our own fuel but they still rely on the malshian barrel price to set our prices. Most of my good friends have left NZ and moved to AUS, and are doing very well, Earning double what they were here for the same job, Livings costs are the same too, Sometimes cheaper. I do envy what you guys have. Its hard here
-
91 octane, $2.19/L here in NZ. i dont even look at 98octane, Huge government tax on fuel also, they take a good %70 of that. Wages are crap here in NZ, im a qualified joiner and on only 37k before tax. No matter what is said on the news about NZ. our economy is f**ked

My 1980 C210 Skyline Fresh From Japan
stagefumer11 replied to Sukh's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
I got 124rwkw out of my 500,000k L20et. Simple mods, FMIC, rb20det turbo, Exhasut, 270cc vg30et injectors, timing at 20btc, AFM adjustment, Overboost safety valve removed and BOV fitted, I ran 14psi daily, Sometimes 17-18psi it made a hell of a lot more power at 18psi.., dyno was at 14psi Dont freak out running a rb20det turbo at higher boost levels on a L20e, the shaftspeed doesnt get as high. -

R32 Gtr Seats, Into A R30
stagefumer11 replied to stagefumer11's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
interesting, ill have to take pics of how the r32 rails are. Both front mount holes line up, but one is a step higher than the other side. (twists the seat.) But what that guy did doesn't look to bad . -
Ive acquired some R32 GTR seats and rails to go into the r30. I figured that i should start this thread early to show what is required to fit these seats. From the test fit this evening. A hell of a lot! Before i continue into modding the rails to suit the r30, who here has already done this swap, and how did you do it ?.

ohh yup. mine had one of them, urgh!

R30 Skyline Front Left Control Arm
stagefumer11 replied to MRTHIRTY's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
he's right, Many years ago we did a replacement ball joint job on one of my arms, It failed 20k later, this isnt 20,000k a real only 20km down the road. Did some pretty big damage also. Dont do it. It isn't worth it. The price of a arm these days are pretty good. Even better if your getting one for free -
hard to tell what it would be a .69 fitted on a rb20
-
Get a .69 housing fitted to it. Then it wouldnt be to bad . but a hx40 is a 400rwkw+ turbo. Really isnt what your requiring
