  1. Hey mate I did my series 2 Ti a few years back it's all pretty easy. Heres a link to R31 skyline club info on the conversion. Your best bet is to collect all the parts over time and spend a weekend putting it all in at once. It's been done plenty of times so you should find plenty of info or helpful people for advice if you get stuck. Good luck with it and keep us all informed of your progress. 2. Finally back in the shed working on the GTR after 2 months of being a lazy c@&t. Hopefully have the gearbox in this arvo then start connecting stuff back up.
  3. Might be interested in these what tyres are they? Could I get a few pics?
  4. I just bought 200x75mm sleepers and cut them on the correct angle and screwed them together with bugle screws. Cost is f**k all you only need them 3-4 sleepers thick I'll take a few photo's of mine on sunday. (they are fairly heavy though when they're still green but with the steel ramps they aren't angled enough if your cars real low.)
  5. Thanks guys I didn't even think justjap. I pm'd kudos motorsport cause when I did a search he came up in one of the topics saying he sold them and then he replied saying no and to try Xforce for some replacements which I did but still haven't heard back. But problem solved now I'll order some this arvo thanks again!
  6. Hey lad's just a quick question. I've searched around on here and couldn't find anything recent and I've also pm'd a few dealers with no luck so far. I'm just wondering if anybody knows where I can get a pair of adapters for R32 GTR O2 sensors to fit a set of second hand Xforce dumps that I bought a while ago. I think from memory it's 12-17mm? Does anyone on here fabricate them or know who sells them? Cheers in advance.
  7. This is bullshit I cant believe that they're stealing them from all the way down at Geeveston now. Snuffy would be pretty upset so keep an eye out guys not like it doesn't stand out. f**king low lifes.
  8. I'll second that! Acrylic should have been outlawed 20 years ago lol. Na it is good for guys who want to have a bit of a muck around but not much else. As for the title of this thread the only way to get that perfect paint job is to leave it to a professional and not just anyone do your research on the painters previous work. I'm all for people having a go and the more you do the better you'll get but painting 'perfect' 2pak is a skill that takes years to perfect.
  9. Yeah that's not a bad point but all you need to do is take it to a bodyworks and get them to put it on the bench and measure it up for you that way they can make sure it isn't bent and the wheel base is where it should be. Even if your going to leave it unregistered for a year I'd def get that checked before you go building up a big motor for it. I wouldn't be too worried though mate I was a spraypainter for 5 years and I've seen cars you would think sure to beta write off get fixed no worries so even if it has a bent rail or skirt it's not the end of the world. Also if your gonna put over fenders on the rear then don't worry about fixing those quarters much cause you'll likely have to butcher them so you can run decent size wheels.
  10. If it's got actual damage you could start fixing it but if you are gonna get that 20 running I wouldn't be going too crazy on the body yet man. Imagine the mess you've got with missing wiring and bits and pieces now then add a fully stripped out body as well. It'll be too easy to get overwhelmed if you pull it totally apart in one hit. I'd sort out the problems you've got first then once they are fixed move onto the next section. Unless your going to strip the entire car weld a cage in and replace EVERYTHING then just do it section by section.
  11. Lol yeah the funds didn't really permit me to buy mine either which is why it's taken 2 years and still not running lol. But at least your 'playing' around with something thats gonna be a damn nice car once it's finished. Just remember all good project cars sit in a shed for a long time to start with so don't lose interest and see it through and you'll end up with exactly what you want.
  12. Thats bullshit man. f**king theiving scum. Sounds like they knew what they were looking for too. Thats been on the back of my mind for months $11,000 motor and about $8,000 worth of parts sitting in the shed and if they got stolen I'd be f**ked. Never get the car on the road then. Luckily everything is bolted together now so it's a bit harder to steal. I'll keep an ear out hopefully they turn up soon.
  13. Good stuf mate. This is exactly what I planned to do 2 years ago. Was looking to buy a GTST with a 25 or 26 in it and do a widebody etc etc. I ended up buying a GTR instead but cant wait to see how you go with this project. Good luck and I'll be following this closely.
  14. Man this is getting outta hand again hey. Obviously like GTR092 said the punishment doesn't fit the crime so they don't care. The only problem with fighting back/vigilante style stuff (and trust me I'm all for it) is that what have they got to lose? A $1500 commy and a housing commision house thats about it! Compared to what we've all got to loose generally 1 or more cars 1 being our pride and joy and big$$$ car that we've worked hard for a house and family we care about it's a war we can't afford to get into. We mess 1 or 2 of them up and suddenly they take it personally and think they then have the right to steal/vandalize/burn any car they think might have been involved. So what do we do then? Is anybody prepared to murder one of these people? I'm pretty sure that the punishment for that DOES fit the crime! Dont know about anyone else but I don't want to go to jail thats for sure. It's frustrating and upsetting that it's happening again and I really feel for the poor guys who have been a victim to this but like Jack said we do have a fair bit of power to prevent this. 90% of the time we make it too easy for these scumbags to take our cars. My brothers XF Fairmont got stolen from Kingston about 5 years ago, got found out at New Norfolk a few days later absolutely trashed but the worst part was that we could've prevented it. We got home from my birthday at about 1am and he parked it on the street cause we lived in a unit behind another house and didn't want to wake them. First mistake! Second mistake didn't alarm it again made too much noise! Third and final mistake we noticed 2 of the neighbours cars interior lights on and didn't put 2+2 together just had a bit of a laugh that they'd be unhappy in the morning! Of course next morning cars gone and it all clicks. We need to do everything we can to minimize their ability and make it hard for them. Detatchable hubs, if you cant afford one an old school club lock is nearly as good a deterant. I had one on my 31 and they tried to steal it 3 times 3rd time they actually bent the steering wheel they tried that hard! Unplug shit, have 2-3 kill switches around your car that only you know where they are if your no good with wiring I'm sure someone on here can help you out, immobiliser/alarm, But dont instantly assume that it's safe cause of that these guys know what their looking for and know how to get around them it's just to slow them down, where you park makes a huge difference to how safe your car is. If they see your car parked outside your house everynight then of course they'll case it and have a crack at it. Box it in with other cars put it out of view and do watch for dodgy dream boats following you home. At the end of the day if they want your car they'll either get it or burn it after trying and thats sad but life. If any skyline owner doesn't have insurance then they're crazy as hell thats for sure. I'm glad mine is safely locked away in the shed in pieces but not for long and I would die if anything happened to it once I get it back on the road thats why I'm going to be paranoid. Remember vigilance is the key not vigilanteism!
  15. Cheer man yeah it's taken a while but it'll be worth it in the end I'm pretty stoked to have the engine back in the car it's kinda like now all the hard work is done lol which isn't true but it's the major part anyway. I'll get the car jacked up tomorrow ready to put the gearbox in and start bolting some stuff back up. Ordered all the intercooler bends on wednesday so hopefully start making that in the next few weeks too.
  16. Cheers guys and yeah I'm bloody stoked just cant wait to get it going now. Coming upto 2 years now since it was last on the road and I wanna drive it lol. Yeah Toffy spent almost $20,000 so far and it's still not running not really satisfying yet but it will be! Guess thats the only problem buying one that's stock you have to spend $$ to rebuild it but then you also have to spend that again on supporting mods. Oh well I knew what I was in for when I bought it and thats WHY I bought it.
  17. Well just a few things to post up. Finally got everything bolted up and managed to drop the engine in on the weekend. Now it's onto the piping fabrication and hooking up all the wires.
  18. Finally got the engine slotted into the GTR on the weekend with the help of Jack. Still a bit left to do but it's a good motivator to have it sitting in there looks pretty sweet too.
  19. Oops know a guy lol.
  20. Might knows guy. He bought my old 31 and popped it when he tried to turbo it. Got anymore info? Just a stock rebuild? Long motor only? Totally assembled? Price lol?
  21. Yeah man I know it's totally Irish. I should also upgrade the front diff while the engines out too and then there's the gearbox...... I've considered it all and will eventually do it but I'm starting to drain the money pool and still need basics like Z32's, coilpacks and rubber not to mention all my intake piping, fuel setup, tuning, rego, insurance etc. etc. I'm at the point now where if I do everything while it's apart it'll be another 2+ years before I get it on the road and the whole piont of having a car like this is to enjoy it so I've got to get it going. I plan to do most things to the car but over time so if I can drive it while saving for the next set of mods then all the better. They're not welded on there so maybe next winter when it's off the road I'll pull them out and do it as well as the rear housings with external gates on them ....... maybe or maybe the year after lol all depending on money. We all know things like this are never truly finished and if they are then it's because of a 5 year build or endless budget neither of which I have lol. sycorb: thanks for the heads up I'm not too fussed with the fitment issues as I'm going to paint the car so I'm pretty happy to roll/ flare them as much as I need to. I'm probably going to run 255/265s max anyway as I like the look of them back off the rim a little but I'll make sure I can fit big rubber NOW incase I want to run it in the future.
  22. Well slowly getting there engine is about 90% together ready to drop in hopefully next weekend just got a few small things to do like oil/water lines set up timing put clutch on and then hopefully in it goes. My awesome looking manifolds! Modified oil filter housing heat exchanger blocked off. Had to change the 2 bottom fittings on the oil drain to 90degree ones so they cleared the rear dump pipe.
  23. That cover looks the goods man. Did you just make a flat piece of carbon then cut to suit? Well I've almost got everythimg bolted on my engine ready to drop it in hopefully next weekend. Spent today modifying the external oil drain as it didn't clear the rear dump pipe so had to change the bottom 45degree fittings to 2 90degree ones and now it's sweet. Put the last few things back in the engine bay and got that tidy ready for the engine. Now all thats left is finish the turbo oil/water lines, oil drains, set up the timing, put the clutch on and drop it in. Then comes the fun part of connecting everything......
  24. Yeah Cheers man I've gotten to the point where everything measures up the same looks the same and to all accounts IS the same apart from the tags so they're going on lol! Cheers R32 TT pic's will help out alot. I thought they would be restricted from factory just wanted to be sure. Blue_vl_t yeah I'm running a trust aftermarket pump but I cant remember the exact thread I was reading and if it even refered to replacement bolt on kits might have just been aftermarket larger than stock items. Anyway thanks all for the help.
  25. What so the HKS units aren't restricted but the garrett ones are? Anyone else know for sure?
