Hey man thanks for the great thread it has been really helpful. Ive just reomved my engine/gearbox from my 1994 R32 GTR Vspec 1 last weekend and this was reffered to many times lol. The only Problem I encountered was trying to separate my gearbox from the engine whilst under the car. My mate and I tried for hours to no avail until I finally spat it and left for the night. The next day i went back and bolted the box back to the block and lifted the whole lot out through the front which i must say was soooooo easy (although i had the head off which allowed it to clear the firewall while getting enough angle) I was kicking myself for wasting so much time the night before. Once out I still couldnt separate the gearbox until I eventually worked out I needed to remove a split pin from a pivot pin which holds the clutch fork in place then pop fell straight apart. My question to anyone in who would know is how the hell do I get that pin back through when im putting everything back together? There is no room to get your hands anywhere inside the bell housing so how is it done? Also any easier way to do what I have just done would be much appreciated more for peace of mind than for next time lol. Cheers

Hey mate well done I've been keeping an eye on this thread and the finished product looks fantastic. 10/10 for effort I've done a bit of fiberglassing before and it's damn hard work I made a front lip for my old gtst but I've now started a similar design to yours for my 32 gtr. Once again looks awesome keep up the good work.

Hey Matt yeah cleaned the intercooler when i did the swap did all the pipes too as they were filthy. I think that may have been the original problem as my rear turbo had a pool of oil in the intake elbow when i started pulling it apart. I'm sure that the engine is getting to its last legs and I was prepared for a rebuild when i bought the car it just puzzles me how it drove fine for two days then just started smoking like a train after sitting for two days. Someone else had suggested cam cover baffles for my original catch can problem too so prob a good idea especially if i go down the forged route just doesnt help me ATM.

Hey Dan sorry to hijack your thread but I think we may have exactly the same problem so I'd like to know some ideas too. Bought a 32gtr and the turbos had leaky oil seals or that's what I thought so sourced some 34 vspec ones second hand but looked to be in really good condition spent a month swapping them over and once finished the car started perfectly straight away, idled smoothly, was breathing fairly heavily out of the catch can filter but nothing excessive. Managed to drive it around for probably 1.5 hours then gave it a bit of a spirited run and it dumped a full catch can of oil out. Emptied that and it did it once more but I think it's because I had overfilled the engine on purpose (rb26 oil probs) and then it seemed to level out cause it stopped doing it. Took it for a drive the next day and no worries tiny tiny bit of smoke then two days later went to start it and once it had warmed up just blew a heap of smoke out of the exhaust on revs and decelleration too much to be able to drive anywhere tried it once more since and same deal. Just puzzled because it runs absolutely fine no engine noise or hesitation only the smoke.

Ha ha yeah burgz32 they do have the best lol. Na I'm from Adelaide too mate moved over seven years ago and have never looked back. It's alot nicer place to live than SA (apart from the miserable winters) but if you like modding cars then there's no better state to do it in. Don't know what the night life is like anymore haven't been out for a year or so but there's always something going on.

Lol na they won't most on here are a bloody friendly bunch. Yeah Adams pretty good from what I've seen so far (for a car dealer anyway) I ended up buying the black vspec he had there ( ex track car) hopefully a good buy but probably not lol. Already pretty sure I'm up for an engine rebuild within weeks but it fit the budget a bit better and I've already got the 31 daily sorted. Yeah he had another silver non vspec that he had sold to someone then bought back off of them and returned to pretty much stock but like I said didn't have a real good look. He also said he had a mint burgundy gtr with low kms and original logbooks if you've got a spare 45 k lol.

Yeah like jack said if you are still looking around it is worth going over and having a look at the black one. That is the only drama 90 vs 94 but the black one is very clean. He was going to do it for 18000 for me so he is negotiable he also has a couple of other gtrs in stock you could organize to look at we saw a silver one there on Sunday but didn't have a good look around it. Go have a chat to Adam tell him Brodie and jack sent you he should be able to help you out.

No probs mate I was just suprised when I saw the article lol. Terrygtr34 dont know how long it has been for sale but I got told it dropped from 19 to 18 and no further he had to sell it for that no less so don't think he's very negotiable ( ATM anyway ). Yeah I was looking for one to drive back I actually flew up to check out and hopefully buy a gtst with a rb26det conversion but it turned out to be a bucket so then I went hunting. Back in tas now and trying to sort out another gtr to be delivered from up there actually.

Hey mate sorry I only found your post today but I was up in Sydney on the weekend (I'm from tassie) as I also had a look at the gtr your talking about. I also looked at two next door at japlink motors. But about the one in question it has had a respray ( I'm a spray painter and my mate I took with me is a panelbeater look under the Tasmania section for an r31 buildup thread) but it looks like a genuine clean car for the most part. We test drove that and a black one next door for 20gs and they both drove the same( rather like a new car) my mate really liked yours. A few things we did notice were the inlet manifold looked like it might have had a new gasket on it sometime in the past, the damage under the front sills as you mentioned but it looks like incorrect jacking possibly when being hoisted but other than that it the front rails look fine the rear end hasn't had a mojor hit and the car drives and feels great. Also I can't remember the name of them but the wheels are pretty good quality racing wheels I think. Looking around at the market in Sydney and I only had a small look ( limited time) but it's about as clean as you can expect for the price. Go with your gut instinct but but I had a look at a few that I'd seen in photos and they don't look as good up close. Anyway sorry about hijacking your thread but good luck on the gtr hunt. Yeah was originally going with the whole series 3 front end but I think it looks better as is on this car anyway which reminds me I've got a set of series three headlights if anyone knows anyone who'd want them.........

Yeah I have no doubts about the rb30e+t floody but I've already spent too much on this car lol it was supposed to be a runaround till the 32 but oh well we all know the story. The head work just seems to be the easier/cheaper option ATM with all the labour free and while not the bigger power gainer it should still be a bit of fun to drive and get a few looks.
