Im thinking of getting this notch machined but seems ill have to take out about a 15mm notch height wise Do you not think this will weakin the piston though. Im thinkin ill have to go down this route iv come so far want to complete it then i can show the full build I hear alot about the 4agze piston fitments but know where can i find someone that has done the build just alot of hearsay

Im using the 4AGZE pistons Everything was going ok until this i dont think i have enough room to space them down as im using the rb25 crank and rods not the 26 crank and rods Im a bit gutted any ideas ???

hi there totally awseome build im doing the same but rb22 im having problems with the pistons touching the oil squirters did you have such problems??

I know the centre bores are the same but i really dont think the rb25det or rb26dett one will fit im still struggling to know whay thickness i need or to work it out ?? -

Sorry to bring this back again but im almost there with the build, the block is at the engineers being rebored to the 4agze 81.5mm pistons I am now struggling to find the right headgasket how do i know what thickness and where do i get an oversized one from ??? Any help greatly appreciated

There are ways of building on a budget when you can do most of the labour yourself. I have found the part no.s for the 4agze pistons only problem is there appears to be 4 different ones mk1-3 and 0.5 overised. can anyone thats dont the conversion pin point waht ones i need please !!

Any more news on this iv got another rb20det got the crankshaft and rods from an rb25det now need the pistons struggling though ?? What else will i need sorry to take over thread just need some help

Cheers Roy some good advice there i must say i was planning on uprating the oil pump and also fitting an oil cooler. does anyone know of what 4agze pistons i need or where i can get fully forged rb20det ones ??? -
Will this mate upto the standard rb20det box though and will it bolt to the standard rb20det head i only say this as i have the chance of getting a 25de for cheapness ???

I havent taken it all of yet to see axactly what has happened. sorry if i sound stupid here but whats an oil pump collar and oil restrictor to the head is it something to prevent oil starvation like the 26's suffer from. Iv been reading lots of other threads about the 2. builds and im definatley thinking of doing the 2.2 which involves parts that are fairly easy to come buy . -
After Reading alot of posts on this iv decided to do the 2.2 conversion I'm going to source rb25 crank with conrods iv read about using the 4agze pistons, however I have someone who has some 4age pistons for sale are they the same in size and strength and up to the job for this conversion ?? Also what headgasket can be used as it needs to cater for new piston width ??

Hi everyone ill try and keep this short. Iv been running my rb20det for 6 months at the final map of 402bhp fly and 375lftb. On attending a drift day at one of the bigger tracks ready for next years competition season to start i developed a knocking noise, it was then deemed to be bottom end . So... i want to rebuild the 20 ( no i dont want to go rb25 before anyone says it will save money ) so as you guys down under seem to be pretty keen on the rb20's what info and sources can you give me on getting uprated parts for decent money as no wear in the uk supplies such things. Im talking forged pistons & rods etc... any help and input appreciated
