Your car looks good with the wide guards, but you definitely need some bolt on spacers for the rear! The rear wheels are sitting waaaaay too far inside the gaurds. Buy a pair of 25 or 30 mm spacers for about $120 and it will look phat!

Stretched?? Are you serious?? A 235 on a 8.5" rim won't even be REMOTELY stretched, it'll still be bulging a bit. Personally I wouldn't use anything more than a 235 on a 8.5 rim. I'd be using a 215. To SAFELY stretch a tyre and be safe for road use, these are the minimum sizes: 7inch 175/60 7.5inch 185/55 8inch 195/50 8.5inch 205/50 9inch 215/45 9.5inch 225/40 10inch 235/40 10.5inch 245/40 11inch 255/40 11.5inch 265/35 12inch 275/35 You WILL be able to fit smaller tyres, but may not be safe... Here's a good thread on tyre stretching- What tyre to fit on a 18x10" rim??

What Sort Of Power Figure With These Mods?
~Hypnotik~ replied to ~Hypnotik~'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yes, its a very weird order to do mods. He brought some Nismo 555cc injectors too, but you can't install these with the stock computer, right? He doesn't want to upgrade the turbo yet, but if i were him I would of brought a Power FC and maybe exhaust manifold instead of the cams and injectors. R31Nismoid: Sorry dude, I didn't realize the dyno thread was there, thanks for the info. -
Hey, my friend has an R33 GTS-t and is about to install the following mods. He wanted me to ask here roughly what sort of power figure he should expect. Now I know all dyno's read differently but all i need is an estimate as to how much power he will be making, as he is very sure his car will be quicker than my 220rwkw S13 Silvia and I really don't believe it will be. This competition will be sorted out properly at the drag strip at Calder Park... His mods are: exhaust from front pipe back (stock dump still) FMIC Pod HKS Step 1 Cams Nismo fuel pump Nismo fuel reg Bleed valve at 12psi

Diff - Opinion Needed...
~Hypnotik~ replied to makaveli's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I wouldn't bother rebuilding the stocker, its only going to wear out again 6-12 months later if you drive hard. Buy a mech LSD for around $1100 and you won't have to worry about changing it again if you look after it properly. Go see Henry at RMS Motorparts and tell him Sam from Geelong sent you, he'll look after you... -
Those wheels are fuggin terrible on that R34, they ruin the whole car! You'd have to be stupid to spend that much money on a first car, chances are you'll probably stack it and there goes all your money down the drain. You should consider buying a S14 200sx, prices start at around 14k for a series 1 and S14a probably starts around 17k or so. S14a's look awesome with a kit and decent wheels (not like that crap on the R34) and it will have more than enough power for you... Learn to drive first then consider getting a more expensive car.

Thinking Of Getting A Skyline
~Hypnotik~ replied to thirty2's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Look at the size of them! What the hell do you expect? It's not a little hatchback thats going to weigh 900kgs! A stock VK 308 fast? Bahahahahaha!!! Either your car is not stock, or you don't know what fast is... -
Oooohhh, I love kebabs!! Sooooo good if you've been out on the town drinking, hell, they are good anytime!!! Nothing beats lamb!! Back when I was in Vic there was one shop i always got chicken kebabs, until they started using crappy processed chicken. The meat was brown and almost tasted like sausage meat! Fuggin horrible! I can't believe no one has mentioned cheese on kebabs!! HAve to have extra cheese, sooooooo good. So lamb, extra cheese, lettuce, tomato onion and garlic sauce. Drooooool....

That R33 looks very average to me, the S14a shits all over it. Terrible offset on those R33 rims, look how much they sit in the gaurds. Stock rims would almost look better. Needs a set of spacers on their badly...

Can Any Body Settle An Argument For Me?
~Hypnotik~ replied to 66 skyline gt's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
The RB20e was also available in the R34. I believe one of the guys from the Jap section has one. -
I highly recommend doing the defensive driving course. Just because you have only had one accident in 7 or so years doesn't mean you know everything about driving. Far from it! When 90% of people do a defensive driving course it shows them how little they really do know about driving. It will open your eyes and if your smart will make you a much more carefull driver.

Your mate is full of shit. There is no way his car has that much power with so little mods. Dyno readings don't mean shit mate. You could set up the dyno so your friends car would make 300kw if you wanted to. My S13 made 160rwkw on one dyno when it only had full exhaust and pod, there is no way my car had that much power with so little mods. Don't always believe dyno readings...

Anyone Know Where To Find Gtr Badges :p?
~Hypnotik~ replied to skyline xtx's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Are you kidding?? As everyone else has already pointed out, anyone who puts a GTR badge on a GTS-t is a wanker!! -
What Are These "drift Gloves" Covering?
~Hypnotik~ replied to blacky's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
^^^ Yes, that is correct. Nothing to worry about. Drifters cover the power steering resevoir as this can leak under high g-forces, and if the liquid leaks onto hot cooler piping or turbo it could potentially start a fire. -
A dodgy welded diff can clunk, so do the test I posted and you'll see if you have a mechanical LSD or a locked diff. A 2 way diff will lock under acceleration AND deacceleration, a 1.5 way will lock under acceleration and be halfed locked under de-acceleration and a 1 way will only lock under acceleration. 2 way diff is good for drift as it will be still locked when you back off the throttle, therefore keeping the car sliding and not snapping back like a stock LSD will. It will increase understeer when cornering normally but I haven't noticed this really with my Kaaz 2 way LSD on my S13. It's fine for street driving and twisty roads if you're sensible and know how to drive. 1.5 way would be best for circuit racing and general street driving. 1 way LSD's aren't very common and I wouldn't bother with them other than for drag racing and it would probably be just cheaper and easier to use a mini spool if thats all you're gonna be doing...

To test if you've got a 2 way or locker diff, find a low speed corner where your diff will skip/clunk when accelerating. Now go around the corner at the same speed but with your clutch in, if it doesn't skip or clunk, you have a 2 way/1.5 way or 1 way LSD. Simple...

Greetings, I will be holding a skidpan day in 6 weeks time on the 30th of July I will be holding a morning session and afternoon session, I already have 5 or so spots taken so get in quick if you're interested, first people to contact me will get the spots. Info: When: Saturday the 30th of July. Where: The location will be pm'ed to those who are going to participate. Cost: $120 for a four hour session Details: The skidpan is a large circle that is constantly wet with a little bit of oil to make it nice and slippery. You will learn how to do controlled drifts with a qualified instructor (Kevin from Driver Dynamics). If you are wanting to learn how to drift then this is a good place to start or if you just want to learn more on how to control your car properly. I will need a non-refundable $60 deposit three weeks before the booked date. Hopefully we'll have enough people to have a morning session and an afternoon session. Morning is 9am-1pm, afternoon 1pm-5pm. Here are a few pics from a previous day I attended: Here's a few pics to give you an idea of what the skidpan looks like: Watch this video for a skidpan demo Please reply in this thread or PM me for more details.

I am looking for a stock R33 GTS-t or R34 GT-t drivers seat. Must be in good condition with no holes, excessive marking, etc. If you have a pair of seats and will not sell just the drivers seat, I may consider buying both depending on price. I am located in Victoria but may consider buying from another state depending on postage (especially from Queensland as my parents live there and I will be able to get them to inspect them if you are near/on the Gold Coast). PM me or email me at martyr@internode.on.net

I am interested in R33 or R34 seats depending on price. Is it possilbe to get a pic of the R33 V-Spec seats? Either reply here or PM me.
-
We might be able to work something out as my parents live on the Gold Coast so I'd be able to get them to inspect them. I'm coming up to Queensland in October for the Indy, but that might be too late by then?? What condition are all the GTR seats in? What prices are you willing to sell them for and have you got pictures of them?
