Excessive Wheelspin When Boosting Hard
eightsixboy replied to rondofj's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Wasnt there an exact thread like this a little while ago? Your tyres are fairly skinny (235's) and you have alot of power, I would expect you to loose traction when booting it. Only way around it is to running wide and sticky tyres on the rear or gradually step on the gas. -

Would you be able to weigh one of the wheels? Pretty keen on them depending on how much they weigh. -

The End In Sight For Falcons And Commodores
eightsixboy replied to God_speed's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I think its bad for our economy and unemployment rates but at the same time it was always going to happen. Cars from other countries are cheaper, better quality (mostly) and more appealing then a commo or falcon, its not the 80's any more, knowone wants a boaty looking car that cost heaps to make, if it wasn't for cops, taxi's and buisiness's buying them up this would prob have happened earlier, alot of the new commo's I see around are all corp owned cars or cops, dont think alot of people buy them because they really like them. Should be interesting to see what happens with the auto industty in the next 5-10 years. -
If its only listed as a lancer they wont know. They don't inspect straight transfers, they dont even inspect if you buy a car from interstate aslong as it has reg on it.

I think Im going to sell my turbo 33 nad buy an n/a, fly to Japan and win the D1 series and get allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the respect, women will throw there panties at me, I will get the key to the city, maybe, just maybe, all the car manufactuers will make only n/a cars because they are so much harder to drift and need skillz.

If no defect what are you asking advice on? I would get rid of the screamer as its not worth getting raped by epa for a noise.

Potential Of Stock 33 Gtst Brakes
eightsixboy replied to eightsixboy's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thought Ill give them a shot, im not going to be doing alot of track work, mainly just deca, haunted hills type stuff so I think these will be fine. Definently will put good fluid in, will also do brake stopper and braided lines. I personally wouldn't trust any brake line from overseas or that isn't adr approved, I guess if its adr approved theres less chance of a failure. I've seen a few jap branded braided lines burst but never a Hel one. -
I was going to buy a stag as my daily and for towing a track car but after some research found that if towing is a main priority maybe look at something else, if your not towing cars though it will be fine. Have you thought about a series 2 c34 instead of the 260rs? Might save yourself 5-6k or more and not have alot of negitives, besides the 26 and brembo's I dont think there is a huge difference between the two.

Nice black Stagea at nunawading station yesterday arvo, 34 gtt wheels, exhaust. Looked very clean.

Any decent mod ie coilovers, intercooler etc are all illegal. Not disagreeing at all, just pointing out the obvious flaws in the 'system'. Not sure if its a good thing EPA sending out a letter, I wonder if your reg goes on there system as having a complaint against it?

They should fit pretty well on a 32, I had 18 by 9 +20 all round (with 235's I think) on my gtst and they fit with a light roll. Inner clearance might be your only issue on the front depending on tyre size.

Well he did insult my driving by assuming I cant drift/drive and he did insult others aswell because we don't have any 'drift' footage for him. Personally I do have footage of track work, but Im not gonna post it up to prove a point to this jerk off. I would feel ashamed to own an N/A with this guy trying to be the ultimate fanboy. As mentioned already theres heaps of guys who have footage on here, they can all drive alot bettter.

Are you retarded? You didn't read my comment, I clearly said I had used momentum or other means of getting sideways in the ae86, like you can in ANY car n/a or turbo, never did I mention struggling to drift. If you going to Japan and (kinda) drifting an n/a skyline is what makes you the king of drift and things awesome then we should all bow. Did Keichi want your autograph?

[Concave Concept][Stance][Concave][Bbk Clearance]
eightsixboy replied to OTR's topic in For Sale (Business Traders)
There cast alloy. Weight for a 18 by 8.5 was around 22lbs so roughly 10kg. Google COSMIS wheels. -
Potential Of Stock 33 Gtst Brakes
eightsixboy replied to eightsixboy's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Bought some TRW pads, will chuck them in this weekend and let you guys know the initial results, Im pretty skeptical to be honest as there so cheap compared to ebc's or even qfm's. -
I used to own a modded 86 when I was on my p's, there basically the most over rated car ever. Yes it would drift if you gave the clutch a kick about 3 times a second or if you used momentum but you can do that in any car, n/a or turbo. This whole argument that n/a's take more skill is just rediculous. I dont know if you have been to japan but if you actually watch alot of old drift footage from when it wasnt that well know there were more 180's,32's or s13's drifting then ae86's. Guy's dont drift n/a skylines for a reason, and its not because its 'easier' with more power. Where's a vid of you drifting so skillfully in your n/a?
