take oil filler cap off......STALL???
Zagan replied to superspit's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Want to be careful about taking the oil cap off, oil can spit out the engine and it's very hot and will burn skin on contact very quick, and will be hard to rub off also burning skin where you rub it over. Same with the dip stick. That's why cars have a warning saying don't open the oil cap when car is running. -
R34 GTR in 2WD mode... is it possible?
Zagan replied to amosite's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
If this is for SEVs and your doing emission's testing wouldn't it need to be done on a 4wd dyno, in case there is any extra pressure on the engine and it outputs more to get around that pressure placed on the engine? Maybe you should check to see if you can use a 2wd dyno for a 4wd car to pass SEVs. -
Her's an R34 Gt-T with a sunroof so I guess that's a yes. http://www.importmarques.com/EW1912032.asp ABS should be standard on all R34's.

Help me please on buying a import.
Zagan replied to skyline sean's topic in General Automotive Discussion
The law states that if the car has R12 gas in it it has to be de-gased before it comes to Australia from the 1st of April 2004, I know prestige motor sport de-gas the car for you before it is shipped as they have that on their pages. You have to pay $1,100 for the de-gas and re-gas, you don't have to re-gas here in Australia though, but would be silly not to. You can get around the de-gas/re-gas if you have it before a certain time or have a special deal. Was at a complenice place today asking about the de-gas/re-gas and the girl didn't know much about it but she said they are still doing cars where they don't have to de-gas/re-gas but soon they'll have to, they also have a lic to do gassing. -
Do a search in Street rodder sites or mags Street rodder had done a review of 10 wet and dry system that you could install yourself. In perth a company does NOS installs into magnas they have a great website about NOS in cars. The reason why I said you'd want to up the internals is so you don't shove a piston out your engine, If your concered about safty then you'll want to really up the internals period. This is a FAQ by Holly a NOS kits maker. http://www.speed-sports.com/holley/NOS_FAQ.html This is a pic of a NOS setup. http://www.speed-sports.com/holley/images/NOS_half.jpg

What to do. Facing 12 months suspension.
Zagan replied to Remix-'s topic in General Automotive Discussion
You'd only need to kick the engine over once a week, for 10 15mins to get the oil and stuff moving around the engine, don't need to drive it around. Oh, and I'd keep it as you have said. -
I don't mind drifting and would give it a whirl in the proper place, Race track have big skid pans etc to try this stuff out at. Though it costs money but would be fun and worth the cash in my mind anyway. What was interesting is the first thing the No1 Drift King says is power oversteer (holding the handbrake up while going around a corner, what 90% of everyone calls drifting) isn't drifting it's just power oversteer, real drifting is turning the car before you enter the corner and then straighting up while going through the corner. He also says no many people seem to know this, and class almost everything else as drifting but it's no where near drifting in the first place and drifting should be practiced heaps in the right types of car with the proper setups. It's a great video none the less, but young people or should I say young drivers usually have no control over a car, and probably crap themselves as they see the letterbox passing by them where the passenger seat was before the letter box came by. Ah, well though. Just hope they don't trash your car, that was something I though I was going to read, I guess you can't use your front yard to park a car any more that's a shame.

Cool I'd like to know what to expect in extra costs as I want to start to import one maybe next month. -
Premium fuel only in Skylines unless you have an R32 where you might be able to get away with it as it seems some need it but others don't. Also if you run regular fuel in a premium fuel only car you can send the knock sensor out of wack, requiring you to get a new knock sensor and can really F the engine and computer right up, can also F seals and stuff. This is what happens to WRX if you ever run regular fuel in them, R33 and R34 cars are premium only cars. Shame they don't have JAp fuel here their normal stuff is 100% ron and their good stuff is 110%ron. So even running premium fuel here would be like runing regular fuel over there only that it's even crappier. Though not worth the risk... unless you can afford the damage from it.

There's 2 system DRY and WET. The DRY system is the not so safe way but it cheaper, as you add the NOS to the fuel feed pipe so you can't give high doses and it needs to be at a lower amount than a WET system. Because if you try to pump in too much you could get a back flash where the left over NOS in the fuel pipe will explode. A WET sytem is the safer yet deaer system, It's deaer because it takes a bit more skill to install etc. Anyway, how a WET system works is that the fuel and NOS are mixed at the injector, so you'll need a need injector the NOS kit will includes these, The reason why it's safer is that you can't get any back flash so the fuel pipe won't explode etc. You can buy kits yourself and install them yourself these include both types of kit. A kit has a computer and links up with the ECU etc, and injects some much NOS at the right times as you can see you need to know what the right times and the right amounts are the reason why it can be unsafe. Before you go and get NOS thuogh, you'll want to have forged everything in the engine, this means forged pistions, con-rods, crank sharft, etc other wise the first time you go to use it the NOS will shove a pistion through your engine and out the other side maybe even completely out the car. An example of the speed: No NOS your doing 140klms along a road, put the foot down and it might take 8 seconds to get to 200klms. With NOS Your doing 140klms along the road, put the foot down and hit the button in 1-2 second your already over 200klms and getting really shoved back into the seat.

I was looking on a webpages that stated all the colours for both the R34 Gt-T and the GT-R versions. All up there was 5 basic colours then depending the colour there were special opt colours. One silver had up to 4 extra special colours. There was yellow, In fact there is a Yellow R34 Gt-R in Brisbane or the Gold coast not sure which as I seen it going down the highway in the rain very very visable colour the yellow is, there are no opt colours for the yellow though.

I would say they would end up being defect items.

R33 GTR: V-Spec V-Spec II There could be some more, much like the R34. R34 GTR: V-Spec V-Spec II V-Spec Nur V-Spec II Nur V-Spec II Nur 2 M-Spec M-Spec II M-Spec ? Nur Don't know if the last was a 1 or 2 M-spec. Nur(the U is meant to have two little dots above it) Spec is a GTR made specially for the nurimburg track, the one in germany takes 5 to 8 mins to do one lap. You Also get special cars with the N1 engine which is Nismo's pure racing engines, these cars would be the fewest around if sold but you could enter a race using this engine straight from the factory. The others you'd need to upgrade to a race spec. I know 500 Gt-T's had N1 engines in them, the cars with a N1 engine in them hae N1 on the back in the upper right hand corner of the boot lid, so you can't mistake it with Nur. HKS, made 5 special R32 GTR's post before mine has the name, but none were sold, although they were listed at 5+million yen or something, The pictures are in the Imports mag when they checked out HKS main factory. The boss of HKS is apprantly keeping them all now, and is planning to do something with them sometime soon.

I would say the price may go up, A stock R34 N/A is around the $30+ mark, one with a turbo and your looking at least $38+. I've never seen any R34s below that at a car yard, I've been looking around at prices of skylines for 8 to 10 months. So if your hoping some car yard is going to sell you an R34 below 30 grand I wouldn't say it'll happen with-in a year. Importing, is way cheaper but then you have the hidden costs, and you can't see the car only go by what people tell you, unless you buy the car while your in japan. There's about 10,000 vehicles imported per year into Australia, and most of them are 4x4 and buses/trucks, only 1/3rd would be cars, before SEVs it was around 20,000 to 30,000, so SEVs has really cut into the market, but the amount of players has really been cut down as well.

5th Gear at 60klms? Are you sure that's right, All the specs say you only need to use 5th gear when doing over 180klms to 200+klms. That would be a very low speed for such a high gear, in my Corona I only have to change into 4th around 60klms, can do up to 80klms in 3rd then switch up to 4th. The only problem with treatment I can see is that they usually only mask problems and when the problem is so bad only then does it show up because the treatment can't mask the problem anymore. You have trucks and buses going for months without any major services being done on these vehicles. The RACQ and Wyinns(major treatment maker in Australia) say you shouldn't use treatments all the time because they they only mask problems and you should get any problems you have seen to properly.

I don't think that's an N1 block, it should have N1 on the back somewhere.

I have seen some guy over in the USA, put a hair drier so it would force more air into the engine and had worked out some way of cooling down the air after the hair drier, it was done on a magna. It did give some extra HP 5-10, but not a very good way of doing it, after 2-3 weeks the car got hit and was a write off. As for your compessor idea, it's already been done via air and water that moves around your engine already. In water cooling for a computer it works well, because there is only 1-3 hot spots, this would be the CPU, GPU, motherboard chipset etc, so the overall heat isn't a great deal to get rid of, the problem you have to deal with isn't the hot spots but how to cool down the hot water quick enough so it can be passed around again. A car engine even with the water system already in it gets very hot, and the current best way is to use the air coming through the ar while it's moving, it's even better if the air was cooler but you can't do much about that. If your trying to cool down your intercooler even more, this has been done since the 60's, is to spray a fine mist of water across the intercooler, this cools down the air very quick and cools down the intercooler quickly to. Again the problem now lies with the amount of water you need, you can't spray it all the time as you'll run out of water at some point. The GPS navigation system, buy one from Alpine, Sony, Samsong, LG, who ever there's heaps of them now, Alpine has brought out a new TV screen that's also a headunit that will handle every type of connection, so it's a radio, TV, Console/computer screen, Nav Screen, Car Data Displyer, it shows about 5-7 different things. Mobile TV is also done by these same companies as well, not cheap though a mobile TV ant is probably $1000 to $3000, and that's not the install.

500 pages would take about a day to photocopy on a fully automoatic photocopier not to mention that you'd probably have to tear up the book page by page to properly scan it. Took 2-3 hours just to copy about 200 pages, and had to be done at night so we weren't busted for copying private infoformation etc. Your always hoping no one comes in and asks what your doing for that time, and using up 500+ sheets of paper would cost $100 to $200, so no boss would sit there and say it's ok with them. No one would pay $500+ then scan it for you, then PDF it and then give it to you for free. Why not just save up the cash and buy it's it wouldn't take long to buy a copy. The one problem I see with a group buy is that somemone will always some how lose it and you'll never see it again and they probably stop turning up much or never at all again and some how be pretty hard to get in contact with.

In QLD don't do over 40klms of the speed limits that gets your Lic canned straight away. In all these stories everyone is doing at least 30klms over the speed limit maybe if people were going a little slower then it would have been different. Late a night I usually do 20klms below the speed limit, not because of cops, but for the reason that no one is going to be up your arse for it, also can have some fun behind the wheel relax a little etc. I've done 50klms in roclea and seen a cop car in the side street waiting for someone to come along. Then again I have also done 190-200klms all the way through the main drag through from sunshine coast to inter brisbane on that road that goes through chremside. Also have seen a cop car waiting there also I was doing 20klms below the speed limit at that time though.

CLUTCH??? IN 4TH and 5TH???
Zagan replied to iijj's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Try x-clutches they have been in Zoom magazine, they are in QLD and at underwood somewhere. They have stock, heavy duty twin plates tripple plates, they are made here in Australia using stuff they don't tell anyone. In Zoom they had a silvia or skyline doing around 400-500HP, and ask x-clutches about what to get and they said get our special coated stock plate and it'll handle it. Anyway sus them out. -
there's quite a few 1,000+ cars in japan those would be going down drag strips all the time or drifting. I think it purely depnds on how you drive even while dragging or what ever, most "hoons" or people who try to push an excel too much or keep doing line locks and never fix or service the car will have problems with in months. Also these people are usually too cheap to get proper services etc. An engine is an engine the only differeance between them is the amount of power they output. There's a 1,000HP skyline GTS-T in QLD street legal, was in last months auto saloon.

what importer is the best
Zagan replied to letsgodriftin's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
I'm looking to import around july, and I'm currently looking around at who to go through as well. I would say to you go with who ever you think will do the best for you, so far I really do like Prestige because I have been added to the mailing listing not the buyers thou, but through the mailing list I have seen some pretty good cars. Also I believe there FAQs will be updated so they are much better than now, they don't use autoterminal anymore. Though I've been to auto terminal and have seen an R33 GTR white next to a blue R34 GT-T right next to the window I don't know if a local importer will be better or not I'm in QLD as well, my thinking is that you will end up getting the same deal where ever you are. I would be about 1/2 hour from SVi, I havn't been there I may check them out. -
Don't buy white or black cars dirt shows up real easy, best colours are brown yellow or orange if you don't want to see dirt easy. Applys to all cars.

I don't think you can put ABS into a car that doesn't have it as it would be a part of the computer, maybe a newer computer?
