  1. g'day i have polished up all my alloy induction for my turbos on my r32 gtr rb26.. but slowly over time the alloy will get that white corrosion look to it... i am wondering if anyone has had their induction pipes chrome plated to give that mirror shine ? Not too sure on the durability of chrome plating weather it mite let go into ya turbos im not sure.. let me know if this has been done before... cheers.
  2. ive just been thinking - i have removed the entire AIR CONDITIONER SYSTEM, PUMP AND ALL. and that radiator that is for the aircon is the only thing with a thermo fan on it ?? is the thermoswitch that connects into the radiator, does that operate that thermofan for the A/C ?? i plan on running the clutch fan, so does that mean i can get rid of this thermoswitch ?? as im not running any thermofans ??? will this cause any problems ?
  3. g'day folks. i purchased an alloy radiator cheap from a mate brand new, never installed to suit my r32 gtr - only problem is that the thermoswitch (little brass screw in peice looks like a water temp sensor) has been crammed into position and has threaded the alloy thread that it screws into. (my skyline had a front end impact and the radiator and the thermoswitch sensor went to scrap metal - else id just use my thermo switch sensor) He says the radiator originally had an 'aussie' metric thread that the thermoswitch was supposed to be screwed into. But the japanese nissan OEM thermoswitch had a tiny little thread, (not a metric thread) yet he still tryed to screw one into the other....... Now both the thread that the thermo fan switch screws into is buggered, and so is the thermoswitch itself as the brass thread has been destroyed.. I cant find these thermoswitch's anywhere ? can someone point me to one or even an aftermarket ont to suit an R32 GTR ? ill also have to find out EXACTLY that size thread it is, as its a japanese thread which is way different to any threads we use in australia, as ill have to purchase a tap to tap a new hole into the radiator for the thermoswitch to go into if anyone could point me in the right direction it'd be much appreciated. thanks

  5. hey folks Now ive purchased a set of z32 AFM for my r32 GTR - i have the M'S k&n air filter pod and the manifold type things the pods connect to - the stock air flow meters connect up to them perfect, but these z32 air flow meters the 4 bolt holes are near 20mm wider and will not connect to it.. have i been given the wrong AFM's ? i would assume that they should be the same size as stock, just able to handle greater flow ?? as i was told they are near as good as the nismo spec... anyone running these AFM's let me know, cause it seems ive been sold the wrong size ? or to suit a different modle/make of car.. The M'S K&N induction the 4 bolt holes on the induction manifolds that hold the pods are the same bolt holes that the stock standard AFM's have. same hole pattern. But thease z32 AFM's the bolt pattern is near 20mm wider and the AFM themself is much much bigger any suggestions and/or ideas ?? muchly appreciated cheers
  6. ok i got myself a copy of the R32 GTR 89-94 WORKSHOP MANUAL - but it doent mention the size/length of the bolts needed. it just tells you the quantity of bolts/nuts per stud and the torque specs to tighten it to. But it doesnt exactly say exact measurements of the nuts/bolts i need idearly need to strip whats needed off a written off GTR.... hrmmm will look around for the nissan FAST that you speak of, hopefully i can find more out.. like i cant even find out on the intake plenum what size nuts it takes and weather it takes spring washer or flat washers, same with the exhaust manifold studs and all the studs for the turbos and dump pipes... need to know if they need flat washers and spring washers ??? cheers
  7. hey folks. i am in abit of a pickle as my GTR has all the induction stripped down to the exhaust manifolds and it seems that whilst i was away someone has thrown out a box of nuts/bolts off my GTR Anywho i am wondering if there is a way i can find out exactly what nuts/bolts i need ? perhaps it may be mentioned in a service/repair manual ? As for e.g, i know i need certain torque screws for my coil cover etc (torque screws are like screws with allen key heads except they have more of a star pattern) If anyone could help out it'd be much appreciated. As i can get all the nuts/bolts easily, just a matter of trying to source out exactly which nuts/bolts. I dont want to just stuff random old bolts into my car, not a fan of that... please let me know asap thanks folks.

  9. ok, so my set of n1 gtr turbos on my r32 gtr. now my questions is.. twin turbos run twin wastegates correct?? so am i able to upgrade the wastegates ? as they are parts of the turbo on the twin n1's ?? im kinda confused.. i thought the wastegate was a seperate peice all togeather ? cheers
  10. g-day, ive just read about the early model brn32 having a crankshaft half the width of the later models. ive got a r32 gtr 1994 model, just wondering if it would possibly have the larger crank due to it being a later model r32 ??? cheers
  11. heres a link to the exact same set i plan on buying. http://www.speedstash.com/d2racing/d2_coilover_kits.html Im getting them for $500 brand new. has anyone used thease before of even heard of them ? just wondering if anyone has any idea what spring rate i should get ? they offer from 4kg/mm to 20kg/mm.. they'll be going into my r32 gtr, the shocks in my car have ROCK solid springs and arent adjustable in anyway, good for drifting i guess... If anyone is using thease coilovers let me know if they are any good.. cheers
  12. just wondering what a bolt on turbo upgrade would be gor a 2.0l engine ? twin turbo ? i got this old school ga70 - was my mates, got pinched n cops found it 9 months later dumped at the side of the freeway. Turbos computer all induction was pinched. Got a fresh 1ggte engine for $200 for it, just going to use the block, pistons & head + all induction n chuck it back onto the old engine.. just wondering about a direct bolt on upgrade turbo ? im pretty sure they dont make any kits for the 1ggte engine, the bloke who has rigged up the turbos on it made his own manifolds and extension pipe. cheers

  14. ok, the dash was replaced in my r32 gtr. But now the ABS and HICAS lights are constantly on while driving ? the HICAS is diasbled, it has the lock bar. cant seem to work it out.. thanks folks.
  15. nope havnt given anything a go yet - was hopeing for the heads up on some product. i know thinners does melt plastic - as im a welder and i learnt this by cleaning my grinding shield with thinners to get a small ammount of paint off - it just smeared the plastic after a bit of rubbing, then the whole shield became blotchy and cloudy.
  16. g'day, ive just had a new dash put into my r32 gtr, the rest of the plastics are painted bayside blue. i am wondering if there is a way i can remove the paint without damaging the plastic ? the door cards the underdash and centre console is painted, and id rather try remove the paint then buy a whole new interior. in 1 spot on the door cards the paint is flaking off.. so my guess is that it wasnt painted with quality products.., ?? any ideas ?
  17. ok, seems i need a smaller exhaust for a roadworthy. my 32 gtr currently has a whole 3" vielside system. i was wondering if i can bolt a stock exhaust on from the catback ?? i know there will be a shit load of back pressure, but i wont be boosting her at all, just to go getthe roadworthy and then to vicroads -- then straight back off. can this be done ? thanks
  18. i was just wondering if the stock shocks in the r32 gts are the same as the 32 GTR ? same questions but with the exhaust ? im in need of stock shocks and exhaust for a roadworthy.. cant seems to bloody find a set either.. anyone got a set not in use ? thanks.
  19. allrite sweet.. because i currently have the interior paint blue. but i want it removed. it needs a new dash coz it has holes cut into it for guages. so i want a new dash. thanks agaoin
  20. is there a difference between the r32 gtr interior and the gtst interior color wise ? i need to put a new dash in my GTR, but i cant seems to tell any difference in color between the gtr and gts ? let me know asap! thanks folks.

  22. ok, havnt lost my licence or nothing, its just the car needs abit of work done to her and i wont have cash for the next 6 months atleast. The last 3 months ive just been starting it once a week, just keeping the battery charged. Whats the best thing to do ? keep starting it once or twice a week ? or garage it.. im just wondering what the cons of this could be ? i once seen someone that garaged there car for 6 months or so, they took the rocker cover off and the cam lobes were all rusted. I know theres no water in my oil, im sure of that. What are the pros and cons for garaging a car ? thanks
  23. hey got a set of 34 gtr rims on my 32. The rims are lightly scratched in spots, and some deep scratches in others.. ive never heard of anyone getting rims repaired before... is there places that'll fix & repaint ?

  25. how many other people with an R32 have a strange lump on the dash above the glove box ? the lump is just above the glove box, and its on the RHS of the LHS air con duct. does this happen with r33 or r43 ? thanks
