Yeah Craig knows a great deal, and have been getting mine serviced by them for years but he no longer imports cars anymore. Although he is still a wealth of knowledge. Gl0Be - what kind of look are you after in your V35? And what state you in?

Painting Disc Rotor - Question
Eldubb replied to Eldubb's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
wow - is that it? No ones painted theirs before? No tips? No actual recommendation on a certain brand/type of paint or spray can? -
Hi, just been seeing a build up of rust on the disc rotor, not the surface area where the pads break, but the top hat part of the disc. So i've decided to sand off all the rust and then paint it to prevent the rust coming back. Is there a certain spray can / paint that people recommend i use? Suppose it should be heat tolerant?

the whole photo is photoshopped...

thanks for the comments, getting the KU31s on Tuesday. Cant wait to wear them in a bit
-
Well, i called Option 1 Garage today and they offered $222 for the KU31's. Then i asked them to come down and the guy said he couldnt himself but would ask Storm to call me back, but he never did....
-
I hear good things about KU31's, but dont hear anything about KU19s. Im trying to buy on a budget this time, after buying yokohama v550's at $400 per corner Ive read through all the posts on here before though, i actually posted in that thread you stamped back in april. just thought i would make it easy on myself to see if anyone on here has tried both tyres and give me comparison, as i have had neither. Probably should have posted in that older thread. Also im thinking of going to 45 profile this time, and upgrade the fronts to 45 in the future when they wear out. Anyone foresee a problem with this? dont think there will be.
-
Looking to get either FK452's or KU31's for the rear as they have worn out completely. Lowest quotes in Brisneyland i can get are $215 for both types of tyres (245/40/18) So now it makes it more difficult to choose, FK452....or KU31. Also, is this a good price?

chris, is motorvation a newer place you found out about recently? I've been going to carmen as you recommended but never knew about motorvation. Im a southy. -
It's the first and hopefully last time i will be going to a car wash place. And chris, Albion is too far for me unfortunately. I'm a southsider.

haha hang on, while i understand what you're both saying and agree when looking at it from a business point of view - $25 to cover costs is right. It does not however make it "cheap" to the consumer because it covers the cost to run the business. An example to help put this in perspective: i could filter water from the tap at home to drink OR buy an imported bottle of water for $10. The price being so dear because the business has to cover the cost of importing it. now both of you would think that $10 bottle of water is not expensive because its the business recovering costs of freight. Your line of thinking only applies to a business point of view. What im saying is, as a consumer....$25 to wash a car is expensive because your average australian would rather do it themselves. so in order for a business to charge that, they should do a good job. Please tell me you understand what im trying to say here...
-
Yeah i still disagree. what you do in 1.5hrs, i could do in 45 but lets meet close to the middle and call it an hour. The average income in australia is 50k, so your average australian would get off the couch for $25 for an hours work and many do it for less. So on average, i think most would agree its too expensive to consider and the reason people do it themselves. You're saying because its a business and it has to cover costs, that its not expensive. That reasoning isnt right. anyway, this was a 1 off unfortunately for me due to my circumstances so im glad i'll be back to cleaning it myself - just thought people would want to know that the business has changed at mt gravatt, its not any good and seems to be under new ownership too.
-
Wha? You think $25 to wash the outside of a car is cheap?!
-
Well i tried the one at mt gravatt today. They werent busy (only 1 other car there) and they werent good at all, sure it got "cleaner" but for their cheapest wash of $25, it was a waste of money and it took them 15 mins with 1 person washing it. Not surprisingly certain areas had not been cleaned properly and this guy also pulled out the blackest/dirtiest chamois i have ever seen for drying. Found lots of dried water spots as well, not happy. It was a $5 job.
-
I too, would like to know if this car wash place is still as great it has been made out to be?
-
I have never used a hand car wash place before, and for the first time i actually need to use one and get it done tomorrow only. Anyone recommend any in Brisbane? Looking through the posts it seems people either use One Stop Hand Car Wash on logan road or Car Wash Cafe - Mt Gravatt. The latter doesnt look so good on their website.

Anyone seen this? I Liked it.

nah not me, the sedan probably belongs to that chick i see that works in the metroplex. -
I put on a set of yokohama v550's a while ago and they are wearing quite well. Not noisy at all but im not happy with the grip in the wet. Also too expensive, i'll be trying a more cost effective tyre next.

Have never seen you, Luke. I'm always driving around there for work. Also saw a silver 2004-5 silver coupe parked at Carindale shopping centre with 896 JCR number plate... And parked in front of a dude at Allingham St in Kuraby with a silver coupe. No offense to who owns this one but the white rims on the silver coupe didnt look nice. -
Still waiting Sai...anyone can make general accusations about an industry....i need specifics.
