About to build a new rig: I like to game, and I'm a hobbyist photographer. Then following that, another monitor.

2.25 for auto. 2.5 for manual One middle muffler (big oval one) , one cat , no rear muffler but rather a straight pipe and itll sound great. No rasp, not to loud etc.. Thats what I had on my old R31

Get some mufflers put in, pretty basic concept lol. Loud = need more mufflers. End of story lol. p.s. slip in silencers are not legal, and they will make you take it out for any exhaust tests.

Sorry to bring up an old topic, did you have any vids of the exhaust? Impossible to find decent vids of cars with the GTSR manifold to see how it sounds

The first pic was at f3.5 on my Tamron 28-75, and it was a pretty heavy crop but the detail isnt too jeopardised (atleast for web viewing). The second two are with my friends infamously terrible Canon 75-300 III, and shot at f5.6.

Yeah, the torque compared to an rb30e is quite plentiful. They get going for such a big car, 5 speed makes it fun too. Doesnt handle as well as old car tho, but I dont care, just a daily thats fun and good on fuel. ($40/week and I drive almost every day)

Your estimated costs... prepare to pay twice that if not more. You cant just swap engines like you swap your undies, its illegal. If the engine didnt come in the car in the first place, it has to have an engineers cert to certify it meets emissions standards. The only 25 you can drop in is the non-VCT rb25de out of 32 gts25s which are harder to come across and ultimately a huge waste of time. Coolant leak? Sounds like a broken radiator pipe, easy fix. Broken radiator? $300-$500+ If the car is already a colour and you respray it the same it can reduce the cost, but in your case its not. Front and rear bumpers , full sand down , and a DECENT full body respray = $3000+ atleast. Fair chance the things got rust in it too so theres more work to be done. IMO, sell the car. You probs wont get 2500 for a rb20de auto skyline with coolant leaks, f**ked bumpers and shit paint tho, ide pay $1000 max. Unless youre experienced, dont try and attempt any of what youve set out to do, its not worth it, will make you hate the car. Not trying to bring your hopes down or anything but things like paint jobs and such need to be done right or they look shit and last no time at all. my 2c

If you dont want to turbo your stock motor in the GTS4 grab yourself a Rb25det out of a stagea (they are ALOT cheaper then one from a 33 gtst / 34 gtt. Quite worth it imo

per Zebra's advice regarding new heatshield. If youre heaps anal, you can heat wrap it too. And this resonator thing? Im going to take a guess and say you have an NA R34, with the neo RB25? If so, dont worry, it means nothing. On a RB25, an intake pipe is an intake pipe, a local NA r34 ive seen around has replaced his with a metal pipe, no difference.

That sounds about right for an R33 GTS .. GTS-4 are a bit worst I believe, having potenital AWD + being heavier. When I had my NA R31, I got about 450 to a tank (400 if I drove spiritedly). I now have an EF XR6 5 Speed and I got about 650km / tank / normal driving & about 1000km / tank highway driving (quite amazing for the car it is). This is all using regular 91 unleaded. When I used premium in the 31 I got maybe an extra day or two worth of driving out of it, in the falcon it doesnt make much difference at all. When I first got the 31, it had heinous economy, however I replaced the oxygen sensor & sparkplugs and it got alot better.

Here I was expecting someone complaining about their raspy exhaust... but no, a genuine anomaly haha. Could you please try and get a better video. Longer / clearer video of the problem (possible outside video aswell). Its very hard to tell because it all happens in literally 2-3secs then the vid is over and the qualitys not that great. Perhaps a clutch problem?

Seriously stupid thing to ask lol. (why would you want/ need to know) It depends what gear you are in, your tyres, if its raining etc. When I got my latest car (5 speed EF XR6), It came with real crap tyres, and if its raining and I put more then half throttle in any gear under 4, itll kick out. When you say half-C , do you mean the C, or literally half of it? If youre going 60 and your in like 2nd or 3rd and your tyres are shit and the roads a bit wet then yeah you will loose traction in the rear, MAYBE if its dry. Out of all of those cars get the Honda, shits all over the other two. NA R33's are slow as all hell, most/all NA Supras are bashed out shitters.

There is five different threads about exhaust systems for non turbo skylines on the first page of this section. They need to put a sticky or something in huge bold writing because every single retard comes into this section of SAU and asks the same question.

I just sold my R31. Shortly after I test drove an n/a 33 and it handled terribly compared to my 31, and it was also slower (and lacking in the torque).. n/a 33 would have to be the worst n/a skyline you can get in terms of performance, so yes your car is a boat, and yes, your friends 04 camry will obliterate it if you guys have a full heckers mad dog street race..

Angle of the tip makes absolutely f**k ALL difference, screw your head on.. Get two good oval mufflers from your local exhaust shop, ANY cannon on ANY n/a skyline will sound heinous, with an N/A you want quieter, or else you will be back on here making a new thread asking why your car makes a rasping noise at 3000rpm or so.

Rb25de's are gutless, I have driven a 33 n/a and it was lacking in torque more so then my 31 n/a. If you want a fast n/a car, a skyline is not what you want.

Search this forum, and you will find 9999999999999 threads asking the same question or giving the same advice FFS. 2.5" exhaust with two big mufflers, NO CANNONS. If you get a cannon itll sound rasoy, shitty and tinny, and I can gurantee you will make a thread talking about a noise you can hear at 3000ish RPM, which comes as a result of a shit system on a twincam NA rb.

Stuff that actually, I might be heading down to Syd next monday, I could get it then (if) I need it. (depends on if I buy a car or not)
