M35 Standalone Total Engine Management System
JC807 replied to Paramour's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
since an aftermarket ECU install is really only as good as the tune, i'd recommend sussing out local tuners first and seeing what ECU they prefer to install and tune. Unless you like limping/towing your car across Sydney to get something looked at one day if there is a problem/question you have. -
saw a silver M35 RSfour at Northbridge the other day. seen it at Chatswood lately too.

Is A Stagea Okay For A Commuter Car?
JC807 replied to Maximilian's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
you seem to pay such a premium for the Aero kit - although it does look so good. All those cars have fairly high KMS compared to what you can get for $20k without the bodykit (40,000 to 50,000kms) -
saw a silver s2 c34 on Wakehurst Parkway this morning, looked like the owner was going mountain biking with some mates.

let us know how you go pursuing the warranty with that dealer. TMI, HCN, All Motor Imports - whatever company name they sold you the car under has a bad rep on this forum.
-
nagoya seem a bit pricey on their m35's too. they had average condition rs250 ones with 90 to 100 000kms and wanted $20 - 22k for them.

***calling All Sydney Stagea Owners***
JC807 replied to CL11QE's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
hey don't be hassling the mighty corollas. here is the beast i built (and sold): 130rwkw / 850kg = fair bit faster than stock M35 but seriously though, i'm jealous of your red wagon Stephen. its just the sort i'm after. once the warranty is up on our other car i'll be looking for one with the Aero kit/cloth seats/3 gauges/tv for sure. -
$1260 for the bonnet (xe.com) but the postage would be a killer too.
-
whoa dude, i wasn't having a go at you personally, just stating my opinion on those rims. I just think DTM style rims look better on 90's euro cars and don't look good on late model japanese cars. chromies are a definate no-no too, but i prefer something more like this. http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelCloseU...te+w%2FMach+Lip

IMHO they don't suit the car that well, they look too much like a DTM racing car style! consider simply looking for a lightweight 5 or 6 spoke rim with a bit more 'pizzazz' than the stock rim, so it stands out without screaming 'tempe package deal'.

forester XT? we were almost set on one until we realised how small a boot they have. still 0-100 in 6 seconds is quick, manual tranny. the auto is 7.8 for 0-100.

can you just save hard and buy the car outright?

Different Levels Of Compliance?
JC807 replied to byebye's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
what are the requirements for xenon headlights and front windscreen replacement in regards to compliance? i looked at a car from a backyard dealer who couldn't speak English very well and i'm sure he said that he doesn't bother removing the xenons or replacing the windscreen (although he said he was meant to) for compliance. any help appreciated. -
more thinking it was something to do with the motor, but just thought i'd throw that idea out there. have you tried testing what doesn't work with it removed?
-
is it the door closing motor?
-
actually, it was Japan Direct at Arncliffe. I think this is a great car and a good price, but i think you would be able to get the warranty thrown in at the $19k price if you negotiate well enough. edit: it was being sold through Japan Direct, only a few weeks ago, so be careful. http://www.drive.com.au/used_car_dealers/J...x?SG=1457094037

this was advertised for $20k last week, if its from the guy who is a dealer at tempe, make sure you get a revs check. i reckon the small import dealers are having trouble selling cars at the moment in the current economic climate and are keen to get rid of stock. Every time i look at one they seem so keen to knock at least $1000 off before i even say i'm that interested.

This E30 M3 Is Going To Be Insane
JC807 replied to Mr. Oizo's topic in General Automotive Discussion
e30 m3's are awesome, although these wheels, skirt and hole in the guard wreck it for me. that said i nearly passed out when i saw the twin turbo'd m5 motor. -

is this the white rs260 with black rims on carsales? http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/priva...ea&trecs=15 the ad could be interpreted that it was still up for grabs even though a deposit was recieved. maybe he got a better offer? all sounds a bit suss to me.

take your time and do it neatly. I've done two alarms now in two cars, the first was a bit of a rush job but it had remote start and turbo timer and other stuff and it was great (turbo 4age ke20). This one was had really poorly written instructions in Chinglish, i must of read the instructions 1000 times to try and understand what they were trying to convey. I just put a mongoose M60 in my hilux, the instructions were a lot better. this time i tried to be really neat, and installed the alarm in a really hard to reach spot. I'm stoked with how it turned out and is a much better install than the Black Widow i had Strathfield Car Radios install in my first car when i was young. They are so rough, i will never let them touch my cars again, e.g. they didn't even bother feeding door lock wires through the existing rubber connection grommet between the door and car body, they just had the wire poking out from under the door trim and into the car !! WTF? If i ever use an auto leccy for work i'll make sure its an independent company not some franchise company that doesn't give a shit.

Dealers In Syd
JC807 replied to jakegts's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
has anyone got any feedback for "version one imports" @ botany? I went there today, seemed pretty professional and had quite a few cars. they only one stagea m35 turbo, had a couple of non turbo stagea m35 which i thought weren't eligible for compliance. I didn't get to test drive because the battery was rooted and they couldn't change it on the spot. anyone had any experience buying through these guys?
