  1. What time does it start? Will be at collie track whole of saturday so might hang around if it's not too late on sunday
  2. yeh stuck in traffic ftl -.- too many cars that time of day too. would have been quite a few nice roads if they were empty.
  3. So true
  4. "Because of the way the car is configured, we can dyno this 997 as awd or rwd. It's too stressful to dyno a 997 Turbo on a Dynojet (our in-house dyno) as AWD as it puts too much stress on the front differential clutch mechanism. The car is run in AWD trim, not RWD. RWD was done only for dyno testing."
  5. Looks like a Turbo with rwd conversion. The lack of tunability is just a misconception.
  6. Calm down, nowhere did I mention the GTR is shit. It's just Nissan claimed they did the 7:29 on a stock car, which no other driver has ever gotten close to by a good 20-25 seconds in their stock GTRs. Which is what is refuted by porsche (AKA the topic of this thread). Nowhere have I put down Nissan. Only questioning the validity of their "record." The poster I was quoting said that for what you have to pay for a porsche, you could modify a GTR to be a lot faster. And I said you could modify other cars that are cheaper (older gtrs etc) to be faster with what you pay for the R35, so that point is moot. Put your stiffy back in your pants and actually read people's reply before you dribble all over the thread.
  7. I know that run happened. They claimed it was a stock production car. Did you even read the article that was refered to?
  8. There are plenty of 996 turbos with 650-700bhp with just bolt-ons and a good tune on stock internals. These kits go for 15-20k USD. The porsche modding scene has come alive in recent years not limited to Ruf/Gembala. It's just non-existant in Australia. If the prices of exotics in Australia weren't so retarded I'm sure there would be a lot more modded porsches running around. And no, they're definitely more than cars "driven by company ceo's who just want to drive around." I'm sure there are other cars that can be built a lot faster than the r35 for how much it costs too, so that point is not really valid. They are not the same car.
  9. Another non-nissan drive that laps 7:50+. Far from the 7:29 on so called "stock" car? It's great that Nissan's pushing the boundaries, but false claims doesn't help anyone.
  10. Just finished mass effect - great game! Also started playing left 4 dead - quite fun.
  11. Songbird is awesome. Looks and feels like itunes and has lots of plugins.
  12. looks and feels a lot like vista. only tried it on a fresh HD and was too lazy to reinstall all my stuff to use it for normal usage from the reviews it's supposed to be faster than xp and vista with mediocre hardware.
