  1. yup inark is right asoon as these start coming in there will be more safc going for sale and they will be cheaper, if 1 come up for around $300 ill buy it straight away
  2. nah i havnt yet R31power but i plan too, only thing is i gotta put it on the dyno to check a/f ratios on high boost, also i gotta check out if theres any pressure drop in the pipeing Inark the pipeing cost me all up around $90,and the radiator hose and clamps cost me $40 so all up around $130-150 only thing is its better to gas weld or tig weld it,i could with your help work out all the pipeing ill tack it into place then u could get some1 with a tig to weld it nicely also the pod filter i got it for cheap, plus i liked it cause it kinda acts like a heat shield i gotta get some ducting into the end of it to make it more effective
  3. heres some pics of the finished piping, well almost finished just gotta paint some more and another brakcet for the cooler so it sits straight but u get the idea
  4. IM UP FOR IT!!!!!!!!! but inark u said no idiots can come, that means i cant come but ill be good but ill just behave myself thats if all goes well and i get my car running alright
  5. yeah cool inark LOL i think i was a bit tired last night when i posted it
  6. well is there i seen something on mccr but i cant find it in here? any1 know whats going on
  7. yup actually on 2 clamps both ends, the water lines were fine, its the 1 oil line i stuffed up on, its ok i just gotta get a better fitting made up
  8. youd be lucky to get it done this week, what would u like it made out off? cause if u wanted stainless u could by the pipe and bends, cut it yourself to the length u want, mark up all the bends, and where to weld etc, then take it to a engineering/fabricating place which there would be some open, then get it all welded should cost u a shit load less
  9. i finally got the turbo on and all the cooler pipeing finished, went to start the car for the first time in 4 weeks,it started fine i was happy, it sounded MAD!!! with the exaust off,and it just comming straight off the dump pipe, as i was topping up the coolant my dad went round to look at the turbo, shouted to turn the car off as it was leaking oil LOL looked under the car and there was about 2 ltrs of oil on the floor, traced it back to the fitting i made, oh well it just taught me a lesson,NEVER skimp on turbo fittings LOL now i gotta goto pirtek and get them to make me up some metal lines for it
  10. hey joel when u put the vg30 turbo on,did u use the rb20 actuator, if u did, did u make sure the wastegate was fully closed cause it sounds as if it leaking,or maybe the exaust shop played with it i dunno, maybe check that its in the fully closed position
  11. if yourve got or a mate with a welder id suggest u do it yourself, the steel pipeing is next to nothing to buy
  12. hey but if your making it out of steel why not go for mandrels as there only like $12 each for 2 1/2" ive done all my pipeing in 2 1/2" except where its gone down the 2" for the turbo, and it cost me like $130 which i welded it all myself
  13. in my opinion 200-230rwkws is alot for a daily driven street car, my skyline is what i drive to work everyday and im aiming for around the 200-220 mark hoping to keep the stock injectors, but if the costs of a new ECU are cheap enough as i get mates rates through work, ill go ahead and buy 1 which will open me up into alot more power
  14. well Mark from JPC in Thomastown will be doing my turbo,if i decide to get a Highflow turbo, and some ppl might know that JPC have built some pretty wild engines that have been in alot of magazines so im not worrying about if hes gonna do a good job or not
  15. i dont know whether this has been done be4,but id like to know if ppl have any connections with auto parts/accesories, just so we know who to ask first for prices and and deals to club members, Ill go first My names Andrew and i work for Crow Cams in Campbellfield,we make cams lol and also do special grinds for ppl so if any1 wants and prices im your man
  16. has any1 actually got quotes for hiflowing standard turbos,or even vg30 turbos? i can get mine done easily at JPC for next to nothing, what do u think u could get upto powerwise with a rebuilt hiflowed rb20 turbo? off course theyd put in steel wheels so u can boost it a bit more
  17. oh well, sorry to hear that joel but just think youll be a pro at taking of turbos and putting them back on now, let just hope mine works lol so whats actually wrong with the turbo? is it making funny noises
  18. arrrrh ok cool, the turbo i have is kinda different but it all worked, only had to make 1 fitting, also ive already changed the wastegate actuator as the one that cam with it was stuffed, also i noticed yourve got the 3 bolt outlet pipe like the rb20,where as ive got just an outlet to put the rubber hose straight on now i just gotta either make or find the flange from the dumppipe as its different to mine, but no exaust shops are open gotta wait till monday soo ill just drive it with no exaust on lol
  19. its done just gotta put it on now,my only prob is that i gotta still use the dump pipe i got with it,but by the looks its really big and its got a 3" out on the pipe aswell, took me about 2 hrs but i made a new fitting, and used the oil lines from the vg 30,cut the steel lines and im joining them with the lines to the engine, thanks heaps for that idea, works really well, i also finished my intake side of my cooler pipeing, sooo tomorrow itll be going again with new turbo and cooler
  20. ahhhhhhhhh fark does that mean it wont work aswell? cause just looking at the wheels, there a crap load bigger than my rb20 ones, also its really easy to put on except for that 2 bolt design oil line, only because i dont have it, i might try and find it save me a crap load of time
  21. well i dont think it could be from a vl as they took it off thecar yesterday,it was a z31 300zx front cut from japan,so i dont think thats what it is,also the oil line im talking about would supply less oil than the rb20 as the actual fitting is a smaller size
  22. i know some guys have used this turbo on there rb20 ie megala, well i just got mine today ive had a quick look at it and its definately bigger just looking at it, but 1 of the oil/water lines have like a flange with 2 bolts and a hole in the middle, but on the rb20 turbo its just a threaded hole, just wondering how u guys got around this, did u just drill and tap it to the same size as the rb20 so u could use the same fitting? or what. Also what did u do about the wastegate actuator rod that connects it to the wastegate flap,it looks like it goes into the actual dump pipe, and 1 other thing, the outlet on the turbo looks very small with VERY thick sides, has any1 got out the die grinder and done some porting themselves or even cut off the end and get it rewelded, thanks guys, also i can get 1 more if some1 is interested for under $250 in melbourne dont know the condition though sorry this post is long

    bad news 4 me!

take it to court u wont be sorry, if u know that u were right and u can prove it,the coppers probably know that your right and probably wont even appear at court and they will throw your case away, happend to 1 of my mates, and he was up for the same thing as you
  24. i just took my turbo off my rb20 about 30 mins ago,i was planning to swap it with a r33 turbo that i got for cheap, only thing is i dont thinks its a r33 turbo, is there numbers i should be looking for or can u actually tell the difference by looking at it, theres some number that say 16v 10 on the front with 16v b on the exaust side and 16v 9 on the front with 16v e on the exaust side, which 1 is bigger or are they the same,i need to know ASAP cause i gotta get my money back and go buy either another r33 turbo or a vg30 turbo
